Figured I'd get this started. GL to all tonight.. Not expecting a lot from myself being my first draft of the year, but I'll give it a go :homer:

Had a brain fart and forgot that this round only lasted the 1st 5 weeks. I'll take a hit in week 4 with Romo, Austin, & & T. Jones out.

I've never waited that long on RBs, & probably won't do it again. I was hoping McCoy, Bush &/or Forte would make it back to me in the 5th & 6th rounds.

I think I'll be lucky to make the cut.

This was a tough draft, a lot of guys got snagged ahead of my picks. I like my team though, I think I have a shot to make the cut.

 me too when i took holmes/ben ... thinking they'd help me post suspension... if i make it that fartoo bad we redraft after week 5  at least it wasn't til last couple rounds

Definitely a few folks who didn't remember this was only a 5-week league. Vincent Jackson went early, Big Ben and Holmes went to Halos back-to-back. But overall this was a solid draft. I'm pleased. I have only two players on my entire roster that have a bye week, and they're both backup WRs.

MOP - you'll be happy to know I landed Charles at 5.05 :lmao: Regardless of the bye week, I thought he slipped too far.

Yeah, that was a solid pick. I really considered him a few picks before, but my plan this year was to avoid byes at all costs.

Steel Dillo looks stacked just glancing over the teams. I could tell he must have gone WR/WR out of the chute with Moss/Austin, Romo, Finley at the QB/TE spots which is explosive. Then he has enough at RB to get by with Brown, Harrison, Spiller, and TJones...best ball he's fine. Schillens/Murphy and Kevin Walters in the cuta. Strong.

You also seem to have a nice squad there too. I could see you as one of the front runners. Best/Charles in best ball I like it. AJ to lead off your WRs, Zach at TE, SChaub at QB, you are loaded up.

CEO, I loved how your team ended up. I see you as one of the favorites for sure.
Thanks, Im a fan of your team as well. I wavered on a couple guys and you ended up grabbing them just after I picked - Maclin, TO, Caddy.. made me second-guess my picks.

I tried to also, but I ended up 3 byes that will have any impact (Charles, Maroney & Ward)

Really????I thought I was was sucking hind ###. Not only did I wait to long for a RB, but I'm not confident in my depth at WR after Ausitn/Moss.

The best part of these drafts is watching guys bone picks because they didn't read the rules.

I think I like Hook's team the best.

Rivers has a great schedule for the 1st 5 weeks.

Benson should be a solid RB1 & if either Foster or Hardesty win the starting gig, they'll get good production. Hightower will make up for carries with receptions & if Bell comes back he'll be a goal line vulture.

Wayne, Jennings, Garcon are a strong 1,2,3. Plus he's got good depth for potential flex spots.

Gonzalez & Winslow - thats just stupid good.

D & K - solid.

Duff might have a problem with 7 players out in week 5 including RB2, WR1 & WR2, both Ks & a couple of back up WRs.

Fullback Fro

Garrard, D

Palmer, C

Stafford, M

Three unquestioned starters with no bye weeks. Was able to gobble up skilled positions while people freaked on early QB's

Bradshaw, A

Gore, F

Jackson, B

Jones, F

Slaton, S

Taylor, F

Gore leads the attack and need one of Felix Jones, Ahmad Bradshaw, or Slaton to be serviceable each week. I don't think that is asking to much.

Aromashodu, D

Boldin, A

Henderson, D

Heyward-Bey, D

Jackson, D

Jones, J

Robinson, L

Thomas, D

DeSean and Boldin lead the way. Then all big time guys who can take it to the house on any play. Just what you need in this format. I am more than happy with this group in this format.

Celek, B

Clark, D

Scheffler, T

Dallas Clark and Celek should be starters every week for me. These two could lead the league in TE receptions.

Kasay, J

Tynes, L

Browns, C

Lions, D

Overall I like this team. I have exactly one player on bye out of everyone and that is Fred Taylor, one of my last picks. With all my guys in play each week I expect to near the top each week. Suck it fellas.

 Thanks DilloI purposely picked Rivers earlier than I might have had to because of the stupid each schedule the Chargers have for the first five weeks - KC, JAX, SEA, AZ, and OAK and also reached slightly to make sure I had Kaeding and the Chargers DSTI will try and do a full review of my team later but on deadline right now so gotta run......

I think I'm set at QB provided Favre returns. A little iffy at Rb after CJ. I didn't procure a true starter as my 2nd back which may prove to be this team's undoing. I was pleasantly surprised at how my receivers shook out given that I didn't draft as many as other teams did. I think my Te's will be solid. Overall b+. Week 5 will be a challenge for this team.

from MFL...

Coach Franknbeans had a poor draft in the recent 2010 FBG Survivor - Round 1 - League 5 draft. Their Franknbeans franchise came away with the number 9 ranked draft (out of 12) in the league based on analysis by MyFantasyLeague.com.

Franknbeans made their best pick of the draft in round 2, selecting Brandon Marshall with the 24th pick of the draft, as compared to the 16th spot he should have been selected in, according to ADP rankings. "He's a player from the John Elway mold," Franknbeans coach Franknbeans said.

Franknbeans made their worst pick of the draft in round 12, selecting Harry Douglas with the 144th pick of the draft, as compared to the 277th spot he should have been selected in, according to ADP rankings. "His attitude is a question mark," Franknbeans coach Franknbeans said.

Franknbeans nabbed Chris Johnson in the 1st round, which reflects the fact that he was the number one ranked running back for the 2009 season, based on this league's custom scoring rules.

With a little bit of work on the waiver wire this season, or a few strategic trades, coach Franknbeans should be able to turn their 9th ranked draft effort into a championship fantasy team this year.

Okay, article posted (www.mastersball for those of you who play fantasy baseball) so I will list/evaluate my team. Hard to self-evaluate much less look objectively at other teams without noting some basics of this contest - I can't hurt anyone in this league, we already drafted, and if I give some help to those who haven't yet drafted, good on them for reading to get ready and they can't hurt me in Leg 1 either. This "league" is Only a Five week contest people. If you draft a player who is on bye week four or five, you are only getting 80% of his value versus five games from someone not on bye. And this is allplay for five weeks, so if you have several bye players on your team in either week, you may be giving up enough losses in that week(s) you might miss qualifying. Sure they might help you win a few extra games in the other weeks, personally I just hate going into the last week and not being at full strength for the last chance to qualify into the next round.

Okay - Captain Hook's Mates

QB - Rivers (3.09), Freeman (17.09 off week 4), and Leftwich (20.04 off week 5)

My predraft plan had been to try and get Rivers who would have no bye weeks and has a great schedule for the first five weeks (KC, JAX, SEA, AZ, OAK if you missed it earlier). That would also allow me to get one other QB without a bye and use an extra spot for RB/WR/TE. That was thrown off track with other teams drafting too many QB and my wanting to beef up the other positions. Still for four weeks each I will have a backup if there is a flat Rivers game.

Before I follow with the rest of the squad, one note that IS specific to this league - we ARE playing two more players than the rest of the leagues. Lineups for League 5 are QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, TE, AND two Flex plus K and DST - so almost half your roster 11/24 in play each week - that should have driven teams to try for only two QB, K, and DST even though we would rather have three of each in normal survivor leagues. Then you could load up on RB/WR/TE to fill not only their spots but vie to score each week as the extra TWO flex spots.

RB - Benson (4.04), Hightower (7.09), Foster (8.04), Hardesty (11.09), & Mike Bell (15.09)

No bye week players here and while RB2 is the least important position in survivors, enough here to get a score there and maybe have my third RB in any given week be a possible Flex

WR - Reggie Wayne (1.09), Jennings (2.04), Garcon (6.04), Manningham (10.04), L. Moore (14.04), J. Nelson (16.04), S. Johnson (22.04), and Gage (24.04)

Led by Wayne and Jennings, eight wideouts to fill the three starters and find one or two flex candidates EACH week

TE - Tony Gonzalez (5.09), Winslow (9.09), & Shockey (12.04)

Very glad to get Gonzo at the end of the fifth and that allowed me to take Winslow later when the value matched the fact I would only get four games from him and Shockey later was icing on the cake. Should easily have a flex candidate each week from these three.

K - Kaeding (18.04), Folk (19.09), & Buehler (23.09)

I was set with Kaeding and Folk, but Buehler even missing week four was a big plus that late and really the WR/RB available then weren't as valuable IMO. Many say, "just kickers" or "have two starters" but the reality is that someone may well not qualify for the next round because of loss(es) from this position in any given week

DST - Chargers (13.09) and Panthers (21.09)

Hoping the Chargers with aforementioned schedule will get me what I need but Panthers there all games for help - again would have liked a third but playing EIGHT RB/WR/TE I thought I needed those spots more.

Overall I certainly think I have a shot, BUT I think there are a lot of good teams - there were some very good drafters in this - and those of us originally assigned to League 5 were dealt a bad break by having Twilight put in the league as a substitute.

Twilight and Jeter23 were the two drafters who stole guys I had targeted and already queued for my next pick at least three times each. Good drafting men and of course Fro and Woodie were sniping and ceo made several good picks as well. Should be a VERY tough league to finish in the Top Four and advance - Good Luck to all

Best line of the night from Hook after I took Maroney:

"thanks ceo I might have clicked on that by accident"

My team:

QB-

P Manning 2.07

Orton 14.07

I am happy to get a top QB with the short season. Normally, I would have waited another round for Romo, but the bye week devalued him. I kind of hoped to get Leftwich as a 3rd guy, but once he was gone, I decided to stick with these two. There is really little chance that Orton outscores Manning any given week.

RB-

Turner 1.06

Moreno 6.07

R Williams 11.06

C Williams 13.06

Scott 15.06

Snelling 20.07

Gerhart 24.07

Took Turner over ADP and I think he has a nice bounce back season. I got lucky that Moreno fell after I went WR heavy early on. I guess the injury concerns caused the drop, but at that point,, he was worth the risk. Loved the value I got on both Williams' even with the bye week issue. Scott and Gerhart were shots in the dark and grabbed Snelling to go with Turner. Not the strongest RB unit, but hopefully my depth will balance that out.

WR-

Nicks 3.06

Smith (NYG) 4.07

Maclin 5.06

TO 7.06

Meachem 9.06

Massaquoi 10.07

B Tate 16.07

E Bennett 22.07

Mark Clayton 23.06

I went pretty WR heavy early, but am still not really happy with this group. Smith and TO should be pretty steady producers, but Nicks, Maclin and Meachem all could be up and down.

TE-

Cooley 8.07

Shiancoe 12.07

Hated the Cooley pick, but did not want to get stuck with a guy with bye week issues. Was happy to back him up with Shiancoe, especially with the WR troubles in Minny.

K/D-

Gould 19.06

Rackers 21.06

Titans 17.06

Colts 18.07

Coach Captain Hook had a poor draft in the recent 2010 FBG Survivor - Round 1 - League 5 draft. Their Captain Hook franchise came away feeling dejected about their bottom grade in the league based on analysis by MyFantasyLeague.com.

Captain Hook made their best pick of the draft in round 9, selecting Kellen Winslow with the 105th pick of the draft, as compared to the 78th spot he should have been selected in, according to ADP rankings. "He was a workout wonder," Captain Hook coach Captain Hook said.

Captain Hook made their worst pick of the draft in round 8, selecting Arian Foster with the 88th pick of the draft, as compared to the 144th spot he should have been selected in, according to ADP rankings. "He's a work in progress," Captain Hook coach Captain Hook said.

Captain Hook nabbed Nate Kaeding in the 18th round, which reflects the fact that he was the number one ranked place kicker for the 2009 season, based on this league's custom scoring rules.

After such a pathetic draft grade, coach Captain Hook is motivated to prove to the league that their picks will overachieve and bring home the trophy.

Funny yes, but does anyone take these commentaries at MFL (or anyplace else) seriously???Does this automated farce KNOW:1) This league is only weeks 1-5?2) It is bestball scoring?3) That this is for 2010 not 2009?4) What the schedule looks like for the first five weeks?See you in the next leg frank......if you get there

Yo weinernlegumes - do they have an updated analysis now

Didn't get to stop in here until now but here's my thoughts on the squad -

Manning/Henne - assuming Brother Eli's head heals, I expect him to be productive again this year and while I may not need to use Henne, I like at least a few of his early matchups and overall think he's in for a solid (though not starter-worthy) year and like him as a backup.

Williams, Thomas, Sproles, Barber, Lynch Jones, Johnson - the first half of this group has the potential to be huge, the latter half could be duds though I got LJ, Lynch and Julius so late, they didn't interfere with other positions I was looking at. Good initial group I think though.

Larry Fitz, CAR Smith, Welker, D Bryant, Bess, Benn, Tate, Kelly, Williams - Again, like the front of the group and then it gets a little shakier late. I think Tate has some great potential, but Benn isn't looking as good as we'd hoped and Kelly may not even make the team. Again, some of those picks were late so you're just looking for upside. I think Fitz, Smith and Welker could be huge and if Bryant comes back solid, it'll be pretty nice.

Witten, Davis, Cook - Witten is Witten - a later bye would be nice. But Davis is a great red zone target and Cook has promise so hopefully that one week will be doable. Going a little earlier on TE2 might have been a good idea.

Enjoyed drafting with you all and think it should be an interesting first round - good luck to all.

Aren't we touchy? It wasn't my comment, it was the MFL generated one. For what it's worth, my team ranked 9th out of 12 and yes, I plan on making it to round 2. Hope to see you there.

One and done this year
You are not Quitting are you Woodrow?Pretty sure this league is all-play for five weeks - no weekly cuts, just top four W/L records advancing
:thumbup:Of course I'm not quitting. I'm just saying that I went 0-fer in Week One and realistically I'm going to have a hard time advancing. There's no way someone could/would quit. We drafted and the chips fall where they may. I'm just bummed my team laid such an egg, and I'll need a MASSIVE rebound from here to have any shot at making the cut.

Update?I joke

Turning into a five or six horse race, which will make for an interesting last two weeks. Still a shot for someone 7th place or less to make a big jump, but will need two flops from the top 6 for it to happen.

Anyone else had their last draft pick score for them every week? (Marcedes Lewis)

Anyone else had three players who haven't played a game? (Leinart, V Jackson, M Jenkins) :excited:

Well, it looks like the same 5 are taking 5/6 of the top spots right now, which locks in the chances for the final week. CEO needed us 5 up top to have bad weeks to have a chance. It's now pretty much depending on week 5 to see who misses. Fro will be at least 4 back of the next person, unless everyone else passes me, which isn't likely as I have the best chance of improving my score tomorrow ( Carpenter, Hernandez-13.8, NE D-7). Jeter has Ricky-5.6 Tate-6.6. Duff has Edelman-10.2, Crumpler-13.9, Gost-2. Hook and Fro are done. If things hold as they are (not that likely as Fro, Jeter, Duff, and Ceo are all bunched within a couple of points, but lets run with it anyways right now), it will be like this:Captain Hook 37-7Twilight 34-10The Duff Man 34-10Jeter23 33-11Fullback Fro 29-15Way too close to guarantee anyone a spot the following week.

Good luck to you guys moving forward

If it were a full season I may have had a shot, but Schaub/AJ/Colston have killed me so far

Hook 36-8

Twilight 35-9

Jeter 35-9

Duff 33-11

Fro 29-15

Fro will need a big week to overtake one of the top 4. No bye issues for him, but he really needs Bradshaw to play.

I have some bye issues, including no kicker. Thought it was a 4 week league. It could be close. He doesn't need a huge week if my team craps the bed.

Looks like Fro made a nice effort, but falls a touch short. He's done, with 5-6 record this week. And, despite Duff Man's bad score, he's still 1 up on Fro. Now, if ADP (Still to go for Duff) goes out without scoring and Wood or Garda (each have a D tomorrow) manage to pass Duff, Fro can tie, and will have the tiebreaker (total score). But I'd give it less than a 5% chance there.

Jeter, I, and Hook are advancing, with the final records in that order.

Thanks for the breakdown Twilight. My WR's really let me down this week.
