US Men's National Team (9 Viewers)

Goalkeeper tweet: #nffc have sealed the signing of #mufc Dean Henderson on loan for the season, with Burnley’s Wayne Hennessey also expected to join. Ethan Horvath poised to join Luton on loan for the season

So, I know I can find this here and elsewhere, but is tonight win and we're in the 2024 Olympics, lose and we're not? And that's it other than getting to the final of this specific competition?

I don't know how good this US team is, but I am 100% that they're miles and miles better than Honduras.  This looks just about as lopsided as it could be.

The US is carving them open at will.  The number of times the US has found a pass straight up the middle that cuts out three or four defenders is... unusual.

McGlynn’s ability to change the point of attack
I know the goal scorers - and particularly Sullivan and Aaronson -- are getting a lot of plaudits, but our midfield group of Luna, Alvarado, McGlynn, Pukstas, and Edelman have stood out to me as the best position group.

What's crazy to me is that I think Nyeman and Vargas are probably starters if they were here. The depth we are displaying here is simply astounding.

Love that these kids got to experience this environment on the road and still dominate. This will bode well way down the road.

That first half was fantastic.   Ignoring the scoreline, and just focusing on the passing, the movement, the runs, the interchanging, the switching of fields, the line breaking, the immediate winning the ball back....It may have been as good a 45 minutes of pure "football" as I have seen from any US team.

Honduras made the correct decision to go full Concacaf in the second half which is clearly still the best way to match up to the US at any age group.

Lots of nice performances but McGlynn stood out for me.  Hopefully there was a Euro scout or ten in the building or watching on TV, because he has the look of a top 5 league player.

LB is sadly a weak spot. I do not like the #2, not with a goat, or on a train.

Now they need to bring DR back down to earth.

Still insane that DR...not CR, Mex, Hon, Pan, Jam...DR! is going to the Olympics.

Dominican Republic has qualified for both the U-20 World Cup and the Olympics! Before this week, Dominican Republic had never qualified for any FIFA tournament or Olympics, men's or women's, senior or youth, or even for a Gold Cup

Didn't see anyone post....Whore bath on loan to Luton Town.

So...maybe he starts? No idea who they have. Looks like they lost in the promotional playoffs last year, so they're at least decent.

I know nothing about the team either.  I looked them up on wiki.  In the last 3 seasons, Simon Sluga has played 91 league games in goal for Luton but he left on a free transfer this summer so there appears to be an opening for Horvath.
