Hall is on the bench tonight for RBNY at DC :oldunsure:

In the 2008 winger class, he's been overshadowed a bit by Berchimas and Jamir Johnson but definitely a huge talent
Hall got his debut tonight for NY. Hall is the second youngest debut in MLS history behind only Adu.
Exciting!

Also, it made me look at the list of top 10 youngest debuts. Somehow Reed Baker-Whiting is on it and I forgot about that. I was watching him a bit tonight and he's electric as a left-back. He combines athleticism and technical ability that jumps off the screen. Not surprised to see he was the FotMob MOTM today. And turns out he was in his last start vs FCD as well.

David Ruiz is a 2004 DM that plays for Inter Miami. He is eligible for both Honduras and the USA but is preliminary cap tied to Honduras by playing in a Nations League match. It's his only cap for them. Sounds like he is looking to make the switch.

LINK
When asked if Ruiz could wear the colors of Honduras in the 2026 World Cup on North American soil. “I envision him playing in the World Cup, but I can't speak right now if it is with Honduras or the United States, since it is a decision that we have to talk to the player about. He has the possibility with the United States and Honduras,” said the soccer player's representative.

Not sure where he fits in as he hasn't exactly blown me away when I've seen him but he's 19 and starting for Tata. Seems someone is in his ear that he has a future with the USA. Guessing we're trying to keep him from accepting a call from Honduras for this NL window which would preclude him being able to switch.

I don't remember the exact wording, but I think he can't make the switch until he is 21 if he has already played for Honduras.

Here is a pitch side view of Balogun's goal. The move he makes to split the defenders to open up his shot window is "chef's kiss"

He's a true striker. We just need him to make those kinds of runs for us.
Or let him make those runs.
Sorry, that was what I meant with my post.
And then have our MFs pass it back to the CBs. But the runs will be super cool to watch.

Good news: Tillman and Dest both starting today

Bad news: Aaronson came on as a sub and missed an open header that would have been the go ahead goal (Union Berlin went on to lose)

This is amplified by the DNP over the weekend. It's been a long time since Aaronson wasn't on the bad news list. He needs to start taking his chances or this may become another lost season. I don't really understand how far he's fallen.

But has he really fallen or have we simply found out he is not a top league quality player?

His best years were in MLS and Austria but he has yet to prove he can have any consistency in a top league.

Tillman and Dest went the full 90 and Pepi subbed in late in a 2-2 draw at home.
First PSV goal came from a penalty that Tillman drew (off a pass from Pepi). Second PSV goal came from a sequence that started with a free kick (drawn by Pepi).

All three guys were very involved in the attack.

Dest did seem to be one of the guys caught napping on Sevilla's second goal though - pretty sure his man got the assist.

This may take a bite out of Concacaf qualifying spots in 2030

Morocco, Spain and Portugal will host the 2030 World Cup — but the opening three matches of the tournament will be played in Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay.

A South American bid had been put forward to host the entire tournament to mark the centenary of the very first World Cup and FIFA said on Wednesday that the decision to award Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay the opening games was part of the tournament’s 100th anniversary.

All six countries will qualify automatically for the tournament and it will be the first World Cup to be held across three continents.

I don't know if that's true. CONCACAF supposedly has 6 auto qualified spots, but only 3 are up for grabs this WC because of the host countries. I'd assume that COMNEBOL would have the same thing, where only 5 of their 8 auto spots are up for grabs in 2030.(Same for Euro and Africa with their host countries)

Chelsea want to sign 15-year-old American Julian Hall, who last week became the second-youngest player ever to play in Major League Soccer when making his debut for New York Red Bulls.

Hall last month signed a new contract until 2026 but Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are tracking the talented winger.

Chelsea interest started when Hall scored twice against them in an Under-15s Generation adidas Cup match in April.

The Blues have been scouting him since then and have been trying to attract the USA youth international for a trial at Cobham ahead of his 16th birthday in January.

If we qualify, I hope we can avoid any of the opening games in South America. The travel to the second game will be difficult unless they add some extra days between the first and second games.

The great thing about FIFA is that just when you think they have maximized their awfulness they go out and find new and exciting levels of awful. Genuinely inspiring.

Kinda disappointed that they didn't find a way to play game in American Samoa and Antarctica too for 2030?

And it's gonna be pretty neat that 3 countries are going to start with a true road game followed by intercontinental travel.

Bonus points for a prepurchase Saudi cup in 2034

No doubt. Someone is definitely getting shafted in those games. I'm assuming that the host countries will be in those games too, making it true "road games" for any team playing against those 3. Then they have a cross-Atlantic flight before their next games? Ouch.

Pulisic off around 70th minute.

Milan had two good scoring opps, one of them were Pulisic but he hit it right at the goalie (blind shot as he turned, to be fair).

Gio getting called must be an olive branch type of thing because there is no way anyone can evaluate him right now. I guess getting him in camp will help to see where he is
