To that point.. I don't recall the 10 getting too involved in the attack. Felt like it was all about the wings and Giroud or whoever else was at the 9, with very little else going forward. But again... Different coach, so hopefully a different approach to the tactic of the attack.
That's because Pioli played a 4-3-3 or played RLC at the 10 almost exclusively. For all his dribbling ability and hold up ability, RLC isn't a 10 and doesn't possess the instincts that Pulisic does for 1/2s and making runs to open spaces.
Like you said, there's a new coach. Where as last year Pioli preferred to set a more defensive lineup, it appears Fonseca is a much more attacking minded coach. It'll be interesting to see if that continues. I don't know if Milan has a good enough 6 to cover the midfield defensively if they play Puli up top... or Puli will be on defensive duty a lot more than he was previously?
