US Men's National Team (4 Viewers)

This is not good.

Juventus used 20 players today in the friendly and Weston did not get into the game until the 91st minute...

Looks like Weston got himself back in the dog house yet again, this time for refusing to sign a new contract. Reports are that Juve want to move him before they lose him for nothing.
Well sure

Here is an annoying stat for people to consider.

The US U15 team lost 5-0 to Mexico's U15 team.

All 5 goals were scored by American born players and 4 of the 5 players who scored are in MLS Academies.
Not really a concern if our bst players weren't released from Europe and the Mexican squad players aren't good enough to be playing in Europe.

U15.

No one is in Europe on either team at that age outside of maybe a dual nat that no one knows about yet.

With the Sept window soon approaching, neither of our top 2 strikers have played yet and the 3rd, who is off to a great start, does not appear to be liked by Poch.

Poch may have no choice though and this may likely serve as Sargent’s last chance at the WC.

He plays all the time, he scores, and his team doesn’t hate his guts. He’s a USMNT unicorn.

Dont worry. I'm sure Agyemang will get his chance next week.

Dest is playing REALLY well. I watched a decent amount of the game today and he looked great on both sides of the ball and forced an own goal in a 2-0 win.

He had the most completed dribbles across both teams and pulled in a high 8.0 rating, which with out an assist or goal is not easy on FotMob.

Johnny, who continues to impress his club coaches more than the FFA, starts in his first game for AM today in their league opener.

Pulisic starts for Milan in a Cup game.

Musah is not dressed. Latest rumor is that Forest has upped their offer to $30m (WTF??) to buy him.

I think we are about to experience a leap year for Dest. If he stays healthy and has a good WC, he is going to get sold to a big team next summer I think

Dortmund are not getting a Christmas card from me this year

Cole Campbell will not transfer to VfB Stuttgart. There were talks with Campbell, an agreement until 2030 and an offer to Borussia Dortmund was made, but BVB wants to keep him.

But a summer departure is still within the realm of possibility.
I had read the piayers ahead of him are injured, so it changed their minds about sending him out on sale or loan- wanted to keep him in squad as support/backup. Not ideal, but also means he could get some PT.

How was Booth?

I did not realize it until I saw Floppo's post in the matchday thread.

Paxton Aarsonson scored for Frankfurt today in a Cup win after subbing in late in the second half.

Dest outclassed him on both sides of the ball. I think Booth went around 60 minutes.

PSV is really too good for that league for the majority of games they play.

Johnny on a yellow in the first half. Two quick fouls.
I did not watch, but statistically he looked to have a decent first half.

But Johnny and his DM partner were both subbed off at half time.

AM ended up losing giving up the lead in the second half.

Very odd.

From reading fans comments, they had high praise for Johnny's first half.

Not that it’s the end of Bill, but I did a search by a ChatGPT and it pulled back four or five names of US players kept at this age group that weren’t released who played in Europe

CP started and scored in coppa action. From sempremilan...
Pulisic (7.5 – MOTM): It was great to see him back on the pitch, following the ankle injury, and he didn’t disappoint. He was very involved from the start and came close to finding the back of the net in the first half, including hitting the crossbar. In the second half, he finally got it after a good combination with Gimenez. Overall, very positive for him.

Musaj subbed in.

Highlights

Pulisic looked like he was involved a lot in that fist half.

Unless Poch gets pissy, he should be good to go for the Sept window. Having him and Dest playing well is going to help quite a bit even if we are likely to be missing Pepi, Balogun and Jedi.

Scally keeps chugging away in the bundi. Sarge in the championship. 2 guys he doesn't seem to rate but whose teams and leagues obviously do. Will be interesting to see if he gives either or both of those guys a chance

Sargent’s coach

======

"I'm hoping Ben [Knapper, director of football] turns his phone off so we don't get any calls," Manning joked.

"Sarge role models everything you want. He's a top person, a top professional. You see his work rate and how he leads by example. He's top class."

That's the part thats so confusing for me, re Poch...what i asked about before. What, specifically, does Poch not rate from him? Poch is a guy who seems to like work rate, which is there along with a bunch of non ball-skill stuff. We all know Sarge isn't an elite athlete- but he does the little things well, including working hard and smart. If hes scoring goals on top of that, whats Pochs reasons for avoiding?

This was the guy who had been playing in place of Pepi

PSV

@PSV

Alassane Pléa will be out of action for the foreseeable future after sustaining cartilage damage in his knee.Unfortunately, PSV does not expect the 32-year-old striker to be available for the remainder of the first half of the season and possibly a part of the second half.

Reyna and Campbell available as subs in Cup game for BVB
Aaronson(elder) available as subs in league opener for Leeds
Hard to get excited about any of that. I had hoped aaronson would be starting...and gio...yeesh.
I am hopeful that Campbell may see a little time. They are tied 0-0 at half against a mid tier 3rd division team. The BVB coach likely is not pleased.
Nope. 0 minutes combined for Reyna and Campbell. This is obviously not a good sign given the level of competition.

Dortmund used 3 subs and 1 of them was very late in added time.

It’ll take more than that to take old Bill out.
