Yea I’m going. Got fairly decent tickets for $90. Not really any awful seats there. How did I not realize this? Looks like tickets start at about $75, which isn't terrible. I'll almost definitely go to the game. Anyone else going?with one of the games in Philly

Poch said Weston was not chosen because he knows what he brings to the US and is more concerned he stays and impresses new Juventus coach to keep his playing time.So....5 starters? Not quite what I was hoping for, but the only one where there isn't a very clear reason for exclusion is McKennie. And good to see Reyna and Scally back...wasn't really expecting that given their lack of substantial playing time lately.
Disappointed not to see Banks included.

Had the exact same thoughts as you on that. But glad to see Scally and Tolkin.Seems odd to have Scally, Dest, Arfsten, Freeman and Tolkin all on the roster at the same time. It seems like 1 too many unless he is looking at Scally as one of the 3 CB's.
He started Swag at the 10 in his first game in charge. Started left or right MF since. I LOVE finally seeing the guy get some appreciation.https://x.com/USMNTOtaku

Luciano Spalletti has been impressed by Weston McKennie’s versatility. He has gone to François Modesto, Damien Comolli and Giorgio Chiellini, asking them to renew McKennie’s contract. Spalletti wants him in his future Juventus.[@CorSport - VIA: @ilbianconerocom]
Gio, as we always dreamed Gio would be, would look incredible in one of the two spots behind the striker that Poch has been using.Had the exact same thoughts as you on that. Also...bummer about Banks.
And tbh, weird to see Gio. Hes getting some sub minutes here and there at least for his club, but off the top of my head less than Musah, who sadly and clearly has fallen behind a long line of similar positioned players... including Sebbb dammit. I still think Gios ceiling is higher than Luna and Aaronson- pretty sure competing for same positional spot, but his floor also seems bottomless...so who knows.
I guess he can stay in London....https://x.com/PalaceReport

Tillman's emergence has made Gio's fall less painful for me. They're very similar players, and I think with everyone healthy (not that that ever happens) they're probably fighting for one position most of the time (although I guess Tillman could have bumped Weah from his theoretical starting role)Gio, as we always dreamed Gio would be, would look incredible in one of the two spots behind the striker that Poch has been using.
Imagine how nice it could have look with a full potential Gio, next to Pulisic and just behind Balogun...................sigh

Fwiw, Tillman played quite a bit as a LMF for PSV, as well as playing the 10. He definitely could steal Weahs spot on the right.
Yup. Weah seems to play better closer to the sideline. I don't see him cutting into the middle much, he's much more comfortable trying to beat his mark down the sideline. I could see him playing wingback to stretch the defense wide and give more space for the front 3 in a 3-4-2-1.Totally agree. I think in the 3-4-2-1 Weah is more likely to be used as one of the wide players than either of the two players pinched in below the striker
In the last camp I believe he played the LWB in the 4 midfielder set up so I think Poch sees him as we do. He does not have the technical skill to thrive in the middle IMO.Yup. Just watched it on Peacock.FS2 is replaying it in the middle of the night if you want to record itCompletely forgot about this.My car died so I missed the game today. Was out car shopping instead.Albert cross to cavan for the 78th min eventual winner. Nice
Looks like from the stats Burkino out shot the US by a 2-1 margin but the US had more possession (almost 2-1).
Cavan did not start but from what I read online sounds like he changed the game when he subbed in, even before the goal.
Wonder if i can catch the replay somewhere
I think it's pretty clear that Sullivan is no longer on the trajectory to be one of the best players in the world. That doesn't mean it can't happen, but that is no longer the trajectory of his current level. 15 months ago he debuted in MLS and was at the stage of "get a few minutes per game off the bench in MLS". That's still basically where he is. A lot of the really great players just keep upping their level every year.
Sullivan didnt impress me, tbh. Looked like a guy almost about to do some good stuff...almost...but never really did outside of the completely unmarked goal.
The best player on the field by a big margin was Albert. even after BF realiazed they needed to provide double or triple help on him, he still looked dangerous off the dribble or pass.
It feels like a last and only chance. Him and Scally both.lol Gio gets another shot? I seem to recall reading about Poch favoring current form over historical performance?
Gio may be getting a chance simply because we are starting to scrape the barrel. I think had any one of Pulisic, Tillman or Weston been available, Gio would not have been called. It feels like a last and only chance. Him and Scally both.lol Gio gets another shot? Their finishing at the end of the halfU17s... oof.
BF beat Czech 2-1... Which doesnt really tell us much since they could have beat the US 7-1Cavan takes and makes a Panenka pk while level at 1-1 in second half against the worst team in the group. It was a choice.
This smells like one of those groups where three teams will be on six points and one team will be on zero points. The US only winning by one against the worst team probably makes them in some trouble. They are likely going to need a draw in the last game to advanceBF beat Czech 2-1... One of the guys in my Patreon app asked if people knew who he was. The Patreon member lives in Atlanta GA. Cole and family have apparently been approached by Milan’s scouting departmentThe quotes are throwing me off.
Do we know Campbell? Yes. Dude looked far from ready at the u20 WC.
Is he being linked to Milan..or Atalanta? Hadnt heard that.
Switched centrally as subs came in and went 90+ in the 0-0 draw.Swag gets the start as RMF
Cremaschi also subbed in late for Parma in that one. And score 6 goals. Maybe. One of those things is true.Pulisic came on for the last 20 in Milan’s draw with Parma. On one hand, he missed a big chance not long after he came on. On the other hand, the attack looked miles better with him than without. Could have had an assist, and got what looked like a Modric ball intended for him right in front of goal sniped by a teammate.
