They never tried to get him a loan from what I understand.  As a CB, he is hopefully fine at Bayern 2 for the year.  Next year we probably want a loan though unless a miracle happens and he breaks into the first team.

I think they've kept him on purpose.  Currently they only have 4 true CBs on the senior team.   A couple of injuries/suspensions will likely give Richards at least bench time.

This all changes if they sign more depth, which I expect they will, but for now it's easy to see why they haven't loaned him.

One of the very young kids who is starting to play in the USL this year is Moses Nyeman.  He is only 15.   He looks very comfortable on the ball against adults here in what I think is only his second pro game ever.   He is from DC United's system and plays for Loudan United in the USL Championship (1 division lower than MLS).

here are his highlights of his game today as a second half sub.  There is a ton to like in his game.  He is so good on the ball and so confident in his passing at just 15.

He played for 25 minutes and was involved in 2 goals and created two other excellent chances.

The play at the 16 second mark shows why he might be special.  He was moving at the same speed as the defender and then in his next two steps he was already two steps separated from the defender.

This Moses kid is out of DC's academy and they just moved him up to the USL team this month.  This stuff would be impressive against kids his own age, but to do it at the USL level against a ton of ex MLS players is really cool.

Ajax had another friendly today.  But it was only the B team from what I can tell.  Dest and the others who played against PSV did not dress.

It would be a massive jump for the kid if he can get minutes.  His highest quality league to date is only the Dutch second division.

People have been wondering where Amon is so some asked the team directly on twitter.  What came back (translated) gets my spidey sense up.  This does not sound like an injury to me.....

Probably the wrong thread for this but as many feared and predicted, US Soccer just publicly detailed that the women have earned more than the men because of the NWSL salaries and the women fired back stating that the salaries should not factor in and continue to threaten to see US Soccer in court.

the "everyone hates Weah" is my least favorite shtick.  It is neither funny nor does it make any sense.   We break down every player, both the good and bad.   

Hell we even try to find some nice things to say about Zardes :)

As for Sargent, it's well documented I'm not a believer even before the call up disaster...hope I'm wrong.

Maybe one of the board lawyers can make the argument in bold, like they had to do it in court or something.

I can't even get my head around how/why they'd argue this doesn't count.

I mean.....I'm not surprised....but come on.

And the sad thing is, nothing either side says or does at this point will move 90% of public opinion. Most people can't rationalize the financials and those that do just argue "well, the women are better, so they should get paid even more"

This is one of those issues that make me feel like I'm WAY smarter than most of the people out there.

People are too attached to this story.  It's emotional now, not logical.  It's the evil men keeping the women from equal pay and no argument outside of "the women got exactly the same amount of money per game as the men" will suffice for them and I'm not entirely sure that would work for them either.

The men aren't getting paid by US Soccer.  Do men anywhere in the world have their professional salaries paid by the governing body of the national team?

I'm on their side generally, but unless there's something I'm just flat missing this seems like such a terrible argument I'm struggling to understand how anyone thinks using it is a good idea.

MLS was given money by USSF when they first started, but not in that way.  No, I don't believe any national team governing body pays salaries for men's club teams.  

Their argument is that club salaries are ignored when it comes to men's team pay, so it should be for women's team pay as well.  It ISN"T a good argument, but they're making it because if NWSL salaries are included, then their argument is stifled before it even gets started in court and they know that.

Their reaction statement to US Soccer today was insulting at best, embarrassing at worst.  Someone should have been fired for putting that out as poorly written as it was.   

US Soccer is full of dopes but at least they presented an intelligent, data based argument today showing that the women make more than the men, which is what most people who have half a brain already understood.

All the women's reps had to do was give financially backed reason why everyone should ignore the salaries, but the statement basically said "the salaries are inappropriate to consider" with no backing data or even basic reasoning.   Their entire argument seems to be hinged on "we have public support on our side"

And the fact that no media person is brave enough to point out the massive poison pill the women put into their CBA basically screwing many good players in the NWSL drives me nuts.

I can't believe the women and general public have put me in the position of thinking US Soccer is the intelligent one in this case.......That is awful.

During the CBA, the women added the following clause:

The lowest paid USWNT player must be paid higher than the highest paid NWSL player.  Should any NWSL team try and raise a players salary above the lowest paid USWNT player, ALL USWNT players shall be appropriately bumped in salary.

And the effect is exactly what you think it would be.  The NWSL owners can't, or more likely won't,  (fearing pissing off US Soccer)  raise anyone's salary even if they deserve it.

I don't know if this helps US Soccer or helps the USWNT in court, but one of the sides is likely to bring up that both the Mexican Federation and Canadian Federation also pay some of the NWSL salaries for their players.  It is not as much as what US Soccer does but it might be an interesting point for one or both of the sides in court.
