thanks- that's what I thought.Ned said:Reading
I don't know who the mini-me is, but they still have Novacovich and I think I saw he had a goal in an exhibition the past week or so (probably upthread.) They've loaned him out 3 straight years. It'd be nice if he could stick this season and get some games in the Championship.thanks- that's what I thought.
but I think The mini-me is there now too... got confused.
Is "assists" something that can be learned? Does it progress naturally with age after age 20?NewlyRetired said:This graphic is an excellent example of if/when Pulisic can turn his dribbles into assists more readily, he is going to become a world class player

Here's the (probably false) story on MM: https://www.tuttitalenti.com/talenti/la-scheda-matt-miazga/; also: https://fiorentinauno.com/mercato-prima-di-miazga-fatto-tentativo-per-un-altro-talento-americano/
(highly suspect in that these sources seem to report that Chelsea want E20m for Miazga, which can't be true.)
great question and I have no idea.Is "assists" something that can be learned? Does it progress naturally with age after age 20?
This would be some demerit level ascension. The Long to EPL rumor has a confirmation from ESPN
===========
On Sunday, FS1 analyst Brian Dunseth dropped a nugget that a Premier League team is hot on Long's trail.
ESPN FC can confirm that Long has an offer from a Premier League side. And not only that, a source said that the same club has made two offers to the Red Bulls for the 26-year-old's services.
I assume he'd want to play top flight, and not for some Mickey mouse squad like that.ESPN is reporting that AC Milan has been added to some German clubs in the pursuit of Pomykal.
Could they make the MLS playoffs in the West?I assume he'd want to play top flight, and not for some Mickey mouse squad like that.
I am just looking forward to the mouth breathers all of a sudden thinking Pomykal is good the nano second he lands in EuropeI assume he'd want to play top flight, and not for some Mickey mouse squad like that.
I agree. This would be some demerit level ascension.
He doesn't seem ready to me, from a distribution level primarily.
news of his demise, greatly exaggerated?HSV EnglishVerified account @HSV_English
In a friendly organised at short notice this afternoon, the boys managed to emerge 4-1 winners against Oberliga team SV Rugenbergen. Samperio and that man Bobby Wood both securing braces and staking a claim to start on Saturday against Anderlecht
He is a "me first" striker, so when he is not scoring it looks awful. Let's hope he finds his form of a couple of years ago which was not great but plenty good enough for a roster level player for the Nats.news of his demise, greatly exaggerated?
would be nice for him to find some form given the dearth of options for the US.
never thought he was *great*, doesn't seem to combine well- but I liked his runs and he seemed like he was developing a really nice quick turn and shoot in tight spaces.

As much as I don't like Zardoz's skill set, I honestly could not choose based on Wood's form last season. Ask me again in a couple of months.scored a winning goal or two in the salad days when the US was beating top euro teams in europe.
the question is- him or zardoz?
serious question.
You never really know until he gives it a try. He's the same age as Geoff Cameron was when he signed with Stoke City. Cameron hadn't even really played for the USMNT at that time. Could be the same type of thing happening. This would be some demerit level ascension.

That is a good point. You never really know until he gives it a try. He's the same age as Geoff Cameron was when he signed with Stoke City. Cameron hadn't even really played for the USMNT at that time. Could be the same type of thing happening.
Is there really anyone who watches him and doesn't think he's fantastic?I am just looking forward to the mouth breathers all of a sudden thinking Pomykal is good the nano second he lands in Europe![]()
This is always what I noticed -- unlike a lot of US players he could score on half-chances and with little or no time. He didn't create much himself, but he had a knack for getting his shot off.really nice quick turn and shoot in tight spaces.
now that europe is interested, of course. Is there really anyone who watches him and doesn't think he's fantastic?
You would shocked at how many people think anyone who plays in MLS does not belong on the National team, but ten seconds after they get to Europe, they suddenly are good enough. Is there really anyone who watches him and doesn't think he's fantastic?
I'm sure you're a lot closer to all that than I am, but I didn't know it was still a thing. And Pomykal stands out so much that I'm surprised it's a thing with him specifically. You would shocked at how many people think anyone who plays in MLS does not belong on the National team, but ten seconds after they get to Europe, they suddenly are good enough.
The worst legacy Klinsmann left us was the dividing of the fan base into worrying more about where a player plays rather than how he plays.
I find it ironic that of all the places online that talk US soccer, it is here on a fantasy football board where I can find the most balanced and knowledgeable discussions.
and I think it was against long too. EPL legend, long.
it is worse now than it ever has been unfortunately. Really toxic. Twitter, reddit, Big Soccer, almost unreadable. You have to really pick and choose what you read. The tweets I post on here tend to be from people who have some balance in their thought process.I'm sure you're a lot closer to all that than I am, but I didn't know it was still a thing.
That was not Long. That was Tim Parker.and I think it was against long too. EPL legend, long.
on the US or with Chelsea?Any guesses when we'll get to see Pulisic play next?
I was thinking Chelsea, but good to know about the NY game.on the US or with Chelsea?
For the US, there has been mention that the US Mexico game may not include the full batch of Euro players but I also think the choice of the game being in NY was not coincidental in that it allows for the easiest travel for the Euro based players.
For Chelsea, I am feel pretty good in saying he should see time this summer in preseason games. Whether their will be streams or not to watch these, I don't know.
I have high hopes for him but I don't expect him to be a starter. I am hoping that he has a good enough summer where he is the first attacking player off the bench when needed early in the EPL season.
)X100This is kind of a "catch me up" article if you are late to the Pomykal party but it did contain one tidbit that caught my eye and that was Paxton saying Berhalter has not talked to him yet.
This does not have as much meaning as a dual nat like Dest as Paxton can only play for the US but I still kind of wish our coaches were more pro active in contacting players, telling them they are being watched for the future etc.
Meet Paxton Pomykal, the next USA soccer star who is catching the eyes of Serie A and Bundesliga clubs
