Pulisic on the bench again today for Chelsea’s match with Southampton
Hopefully he gets a run of starts at some point as it seems like he's staying at Chelsea, but Mount and Havertz (and of course Sterling) just seemed nailed down starters for whatever reason. Surprised and disappointed Ziyech is starting ahead of him now.

Ziyech getting a start ahead of Pulisic seems like a pretty strong negative indication from the manager, but who knows what the thought process is? I've been reading all summer how Ziyech is on the trading block - particularly in recent weeks with Ajax just concluding a deal to sell Antony. It seemed like a sale was imminent. With Werner and CHO both gone, I don't see how the club can afford to lose either one of them, but was still expecting CP to be slightly ahead in the pecking order.

Mason Mount and Kai Havertz have played a combined 777 minutes this Premier League season. They've combined for 0 goals and 0 assists during that span

Probably a positive development. Kid needs to rebuild his confidence, bang in some goals and keep developing. Don't want another Sargent situation

99.9% sure the "source" is his dad

Henry Bushnell

@HenryBushnell

Source clarified to @YahooSports this morning that, as @PaulTenorio has indicated, Pulisic's wish would be to leave Chelsea — either on loan or permanently. "They are blocking any deals and holding him against his wishes."

Sources: Despite the possibility of a loan discussed earlier this summer, USMNT midfielder Richie Ledezma will stay at PSV through the deadline. Club and player believe Ledezma will earn enough minutes. Ledezma, turning 22 next week, was injured almost all of last year.

[Fabrizio Romano] Excl: Sergiño Dest’s now considering a loan proposal from Villarreal, he’s open to discuss about it. Talks on with Barça — it’s up to the player. 🚨🟡 #FCB Manchester United manager ten Hag wants Dest, it’s a possibility but it can only happen if Wan-Bissaka will leave. 🔴 #MUFC
PLEASE let this happen.

well he can't play any less than where he is now
===============================

Best move for him given the coach. I don't know who they've got at RB

Dalot has been starting so far this season after Wan-Bissaka was average last year. Honestly, I could see any of those 3 getting time if they brought Dest in. I know he probably doesn't want a step down but he should entertain a mid tableau club and get playing time. At 21 he still has time to make a move to big club again down the road. He needs minutes.

I don't know the full story but clearly not a good look

Saw another tweet that CP was the only Chelsea player to not acknowledge the travelling Chelsea fans. Not a good look.
Sometimes you need to force your way out.

Tuchel seems like the type that will hold him there and be willing not to play him to make a point. This could get ugly I'm afraid.

Counterpoint is he's played in all 5 Chelsea games this season, outlasted direct rivals Werner and CHO, and will undoubtedly get starts when the schedule gets busy if not before. Chelsea have never frozen out a player (unless you count the Malouda saga 10 years ago, which was more on the player than the club) and have repeatedly shown a willingness to respect a wantaway player's wishes, even selling to rivals multiple times in the past (Mata, Cech, Willian, Courtois). I don't perceive any issues between Tuchel and Pulisic. The club are in some turmoil now due to a poor start, but the focus on Pulisic is pure social media drama in my opinion. The transfer window is almost closed and the club will settle in soon enough. I have no worries about CP or CFC right now.

I'm more thinking if this latest with him walking off is perceived as a ploy to get a move. Outside of that (and obviously reading in to it some) I would agree with you. But, we all know that players can and do get in the doghouse with coaches/clubs and it would be a nightmare for CP if it happens here. Chelsea don't NEED CP and they could easily afford to bring in a signing later today or tomorrow that could take some or all of his time, while not moving him. I doubt that happens as I don't think he's in the doghouse but it's not out of the realm of possibility.

**** me and I am unsure how I got here but I am now leaning towards Ream starting next to Zimm in Qatar. I just watched a long highlight package of his last game (one of which I think GGG was in attendance for) and he played near flawlessly.

His passing ability would take a ton of pressure off of Adams and Zimm. He is also playing at a MUCH higher level than CCV, Long and McKenzie and is getting significantly more playing time than Richards.

From ESPN...update on Dest to Villareal
==============

Barcelona's Sergino Dest is reconsidering an offer from LaLiga side Villarreal after a phone call from coach Unai Emery, sources have told ESPN.

Villarreal approached Dest about a season-long loan earlier this week after losing right-back Juan Foyth to injury, but the United States international was initially reluctant to accept their offer.

However, under intense pressure to leave from Barcelona, and given the need to play regularly before the World Cup, Dest is re-evaluating his options before the transfer window closes on Thursday.

But sources said that even if Dest gives the green light to the move, the financial side of the deal requires some work on both Barca's and Villarreal's side. Staying at Barca has not been ruled out.

So we all seem to be in agreement that wing is our deepest and most skilled position.

But to counter that, the start to this year has been REALLY bad. Weah has not played a minute, Gio is still in bubble wrap, and Pulisic has a donut so far in 5 sub appearances while rumors of unhappiness abound.

Luckily Aaronson is not finding the jump to the EPL above his quality level.

And done! This is as good an outcome as we could have hoped for.

==========================

[Fabrizio Romano] Sergiño Dest to AC Milan, here we go and confirmed! Full agreement, loan with buy option around €20m not mandatory. Dest will sign until June 2027, one year loan plus potential four year deal. #ACMilan Dest will fly to Milano on Wednesday morning to sign contracts.

Milan right back - Florenzi - was just injured yesterday and apparently will be out for an extended period.

Yup. That is why this came out of no where. Without that injury this probably is a non starter.

It feels like Vines has clearly passed Bello in the depth chart at LB. He is playing every minute while Bello is struggling for minutes in Bundesliga 2.

Here is the goal Vines scored today
I've noticed all those starts- good for him. I liked what I saw from him in the US and for the US, so it's great he's continuing that growth and getting quality PT. that first touch though...

Got up this morning to really watch Por/Atx and my goodness did Williamson put on a show.

Really really hope he’s at this USMNT camp. Fits a clear need as backup 8/6 w/ elite ball progression attributes.
This is interesting. I believe he was mentioned recently in this thread but nobody had heard much about him lately (which is not good for our MLS based players). I liked his game before the injury and thought he looked fine in the few USMNT games he got minutes. We could use an additional 6/8 option.

LDLT and Williamson on the WC squad would make me warm and fuzzy. I was an early adopter on both of those guys and have always thought their game looked like it belonged.

Creating space for yourself in traffic on the ball, knowing where you want to go with the ball before you get it, and being constantly available for a teammate off the ball are awfully good skills for a midfielder.
