US Men's National Team (10 Viewers)

We have a number 9 at PSV
We have a number 10 at Leverkusen
We have a number 5 at Atletico Madrid
We have a number 11 at AC Milan
We have arguably a top 10 LB in the entire world

And we are ranked 5th in Concacaf. What in the living **** is going on.......
Concacaf teams must be busting with world class talent.

You forgot to mention that the 9 at PSV and the 5 at Atletico may not even be able to crack the starting 11 for USMNT

Damien Comolli, general manager of Serie A’s Juventus, confirmed that USMNT winger Tim Weah wants to join Marseille, but said that the “right offer” has not yet arrived from the French club.“The player wants to go to Marseille, but in football you can’t choose a team because if the right offer doesn’t arrive, you stay on the sidelines,” Comolli said. “And the offer hasn’t arrived yet.”

Quick Turner update.

L’Equipe is reporting that Lyon can not cancel the Turner buy. As such, they intend to loan Turner immediately to the Revs.

Is he an insta-start this season in NE?
This is the really moronic thing IMO.

The Revs are one of the worst teams in the league and have a million things wrong with them, but ironically keeper is not one of them.

I would expect Turner to start but the move makes almost no sense, especially given he is likely to be a fairly expensive loan.

Rumor Stage

Diego Luna - linked lightly with Celta Vigo (La Liga) and other Euro clubs

Ricardo Pepi - Linked with Real Betis (La Liga) but little else as PSV has made it clear he will come with a large price tag

Yunus Musah - Was originally linked heavily with Napoli (Serie A) but things have gone quiet

Tim Weah - Olympique de Marseille is far apart from Juventus’ valuation of Tim Weah. Juve is demanding €20M for him and are sticking to their request while OM are holding at €15M. The deal is not nearing completion, unlike how it seemed several days ago. Weah has already said yes to Marseille and is pushing to go there. Everton and Leeds United are in the background, but far off.

Griffan Yow - DC United has submitted a bid to Westerloo. An interesting side note here is that DC United actually hold a sell on fee on Yow to begin with and are now trying to buy him back.

Christian Pulisic - Pulisic has rejected the Saudi offers and is now said to be focused on re-signing with Milan

Gio Reyna - Parma have offered €6M + bonuses to Borussia Dortmund, but they ask for little more. Meanwhile, Parma offered Gio Reyna a three-year contract plus an option for another and a €25M release clause: some details to be filed, but there are the conditions for Gio to arrive in Italy.

Josh Sargent - being heavily linked with Wolfsburg (Bundesliga)

Update Max Arfsten - Championship side Middlesbrough have submitted a bid worth around $3M (£2.25m) for Max Arfsten. There’s no word on whether or not the Crew will entertain the offer as they rejected a bid from Toulouse for Arfsten earlier this summer.

Contract Extensions

The following players have all recently signed long term contracts at current clubs

Julian Eyestone: Brentford (EPL)
Noakai Banks: Augsburgh (Bundesliga)
Jack McGlynn: Houston Dynamo (MLS)

Dortmund are driving me crazy this summer.

The Parma deal looks to be disintegrating for Reyna and they have also rejected the $7m bid for Cole Campbell stating they have sold too many wingers this summer.

So now Reyna will continue to get no time and Campbell goes from a chance to start to now waiting for an injury to get playing time.

Between this and Juve holding Weah hostage...

And the Turner crap too. :kicksrock:

It is great to see Richards continuing to shine in the air off of free kicks.

Today he won a strong header off a corner for Palace that was barely saved which then created a simple rebound goal for team mate.

Sounds like the Weah issue may be unclogging. This is translated from a French reporter

=================

A breakthrough for Tim Weah, one step away to Olympique de Marseille. The diplomatic work of OM is leading to an agreement with Juventus for a loan with an obligation to buy for €15M. For Weah, there’s only Marseille.

Yunus Musah - Was originally linked heavily with Napoli (Serie A) but things have gone quiet
Some Napoli whispers again this week.

But Nottingham rumors have heated up a lot the last 24 hours. Sounds like they want Luiz from Juve, but are still gunning for Musah. I dont know if its one or the other. Luiz, like Weah, was left off the squad in their last game, leading to suggestions that a move was imminent. If that happens, do they also take Musah?

They must be loading up for another run at 2nd.

Can Weah and/or Reyna do like NBA players and buy out the remainder of their contract to facilitate a move to another club?
That is an interesting question.

I don't know if these two players have it in their contract, but many players have set fees in their contract to release them, I believe they are called Release Clauses. So it may be more than just the contract value to get free.

Some of these release clauses are set at insane values so that the club always remains in control.

Tolkin and Castaneda both started in their Bundie 2 league opener today. Both teams (Paderborn and Holstein Kiel) are expected to contend for promotion this season.

Wynder is officially listed for Benfica's UCL roster. I assumed he would be loaned out and maybe that doesn't change as I suppose there has to be a way to adjust it given the transfer window is open for a long while yet.

Not that it makes much of a difference but I think some of the reason Reyna has not even dressed for recent games is that he just got married.

Off the wall thought....

Could clubs be holding Americans "hostage" knowing how important it is to our WC (on home soil) hopes that we have as many getting regular pt as possible? No way there could be that amount of collusion right?

I'm sure there's plenty of players from other countries in limbo. Just seems odd that the US has the most players its ever had playing for foreign clubs and now there's so much uncertainty.

Just a thought

So I guess at least someone is giving him more than the odd few minutes here and there.
There was a picture of him and bride feeding each other cake. Comment was that Reyna got injured in the act and would be out two months.

Mathis Albert with a goal and 2 assists in the opening match for the Dortmund U19s.
He is walking almost the identical path that Pulisic and Reyna did to get to the first team early. God, I hope they release him for the U17 World Cup though. I really wanna see him and Cavan play together.

Swag isn’t engaged or anything, is he?

Johnny on the bench for AM
He played the second half. With De Paul gone, he's got many more chances at playing time. If Koke is healthy and playing well, Johnny will have to unseat Connor Gallagher or Koke for a central midfield position, or be the 3rd in a 3 or 5 man midfield. The midfield is thin though for the team, so at the minimum he'll get rotation minutes until he screws up and goes into Simeone's doghouse. Johnny should note that he will need to put the work in on the training ground, acting professionally, and sacrificing for the team.

I was surprised to see Koke still there- a legend to learn from.

Given he doesnt show (us) a lot in games but STILL plays and has gotten these big moves advancing to better teams, I'd put my money on him being a fantastic practice player. He also might be some kind of 6 tactical savant, putting in great work off the ball and off screen. I will say after watching him in a handful of Betis games last year, he was decent and tidy on the ball- making good, quick decisions with the long or short pass (eta...mostly just giving the ball to Isco) or on the dribble. Hasnt shown that for the US.

Koke has the most starts and most matches played for any Atleti player ever, like 650+ matches played. Came through the academy and hasn't left yet. Won 2 la liga titles, lost 2 CL championship matches, won 2 Europa Cups, 1 Copa del Rey. True legend.

I watched an all touch video from Johnny. I would rate it at best an average performance. A million touches backwards, one badly misplayed ball in his own end, and a couple of nice line breaking passes. Involved in maybe 2 or 3 tackles.
