USMNT Movement Post (To be updated regularly)

Update in this post: Lund goes directly to Here We Go!

Officially moved
Damion Downs to Southampton (Championship)
Malik Tillman to Bayer Leverkusen (Bundesliga)
Patrick Agyemang to Derby County (Championship)
Johnny to Atletico Madrid (La Liga)
Caleb Wiley to Watford (Championship) on loan
Matt Turner to Lyon (Ligue 1) and then loaned to NE Revolution (MLS)

Here We Go (close)

Update Kristoffer Lund: Breakthrough in the negotiations between 1. FC Köln and Palermo over a transfer of Kristoffer Lund. The deal will be a loan with an option to buy. The 23 y/o left-back is expected to undergo his medical on Tuesday.

Tim Weah: Tim Weah to Olympique Marseille, here we go! Deal verbally agreed now also with Juventus.Exclusive details: package will be €1m loan fee, €14m obligation to buy, €3m add-ons, sell-on clause.Weah only wanted Marseille, just waiting for green light to travel

Rumor Stage

Diego Luna - linked lightly with Celta Vigo (La Liga) and other Euro clubs

Ricardo Pepi - Linked with Real Betis (La Liga) but little else as PSV has made it clear he will come with a large price tag

Yunus Musah - Was originally linked heavily with Napoli (Serie A) but things have gone quiet

Griffan Yow - DC United has submitted a bid to Westerloo. An interesting side note here is that DC United actually hold a sell on fee on Yow to begin with and are now trying to buy him back.

Christian Pulisic - Pulisic has rejected the Saudi offers and is now said to be focused on re-signing with Milan

Gio Reyna - Parma have offered €6M + bonuses to Borussia Dortmund, but they ask for little more. Meanwhile, Parma offered Gio Reyna a three-year contract plus an option for another and a €25M release clause: some details to be filed, but there are the conditions for Gio to arrive in Italy.

Josh Sargent - being heavily linked with Wolfsburg (Bundesliga). This deal feel through as Sargent reportedly rejected the move.

Max Arfsten - Championship side Middlesbrough have submitted a bid worth around $3M (£2.25m) for Max Arfsten. There’s no word on whether or not the Crew will entertain the offer as they rejected a bid from Toulouse for Arfsten earlier this summer.

Contract Extensions

The following players have all recently signed long term contracts at current clubs

Julian Eyestone: Brentford (EPL)
Noakai Banks: Augsburgh (Bundesliga)
Jack McGlynn: Houston Dynamo (MLS)

yet another average player who commands more money than Gio. What planet am I living on? :kicksrock:

Toronto FC have agreed to a blockbuster deal to acquire American attacking midfielder Djordje Mihailovic from the Colorado Rapics in a cash transfer, sources tell GIVEMESPORT.

Colorado will receive a club-record fee of $8 million, plus another $1 million in add-ons, sources say. Rapids retain a future sell-on clause. It is the second-largest cash transfer since the rule was implemented this winter in MLS.

Then Diogo Dalot must be worth 150m, because thats his only good trait!!! :lmao:

But yes, to an extend being available and having a good attitude when either avail or not does help teams want you.

Rankings of the top 50 US youth players born 2006-2010.

The top 5................

Anybody know more about that Manu cat at RM?
Ok...just googled. Son of Malaga Uruguayan dad, just signed with RM. Born in NC while his dad played for the RailHawks, but sounds like he's Spanish. Eligible for all 3. got a callup last year for the US yutes and scored vs Croatia. Didnt find anything that said he would commit one way or the other. Kid plays all left foot...strong on the ball with nice skills (vs other kids).

He seems a pretty heavy US lean. He's pretty much always joined our camps when available. He's never appeared for Spain and his last Uruguay appearance was in 2023 (before the first US camp of that age group).

ETA: he's missed a lot of time with injury over the last year and so has missed camps

In a site for sore eyes, Dest started today in the Netherlands shield game and scored the winner in the 84th minute.

Pepi was a second half sub. (62nd minute).

OK, lets see how badly we can jinx things.

Choose your Over/Under amount for how many combined league goals Pepi, Balogun and Sargent will have this season.

I am being optimistic with 34. Note that all 3 missed significant time last season. I am banking on a mostly healthy run this season.

That seems way low if you think they will be mostly healthy. They combined for 30 league goals last year.

I'm definitely taking the OVER

Oh...my instinct is off then- i was going to say 30 for league only goals.

I may have stated my question poorly. I was not asking people to choose over or under based on my guess. I was asking people to set their own over under bench mark.

What would you set yours at?

Pepi may be the key. If he gets the playing time we hope for and PSV is one of the big dogs again, a 17 or more goal season is possible for him, even with just decent health.

If Sargent gets a late move to an EPL team, it would have the opposite effect as his scoring would likely go down.

They combined for 30 while missing a combined 50% of their teams' games with injuries last season. Pepi started the season as a clear back up to De Jong, who is now gone. I'm going to say 51 if Sargent doesn't move, 38 if he does.

51 would be wonderful! That would be higher than combining their individual career highs.

Sargent: 16 goals in 2023/24
Pepi: 13 goals in 2021
Balogun: 21 in 2022/23

Pepi clearly has the largest upside. He could even hit 20 if he takes a couple of pk's. 15-16 for Sargent seems like a good target. I have no idea on Balogun. Even if healthy I am not sure how much time he will be getting. If he is a starter, I would hope for 12 or so.

If Pepi stays healthy (and remains at PSV), I'd consider 20 an absolute floor for him. He's currently a slight betting favorite to be the top scorer in the Eredivisie.

using De Jong as comp:

He played for PSV for 8 seasons.
Only one season did he play less than 2000 minutes. His average was around 2700 minutes.
He hit 20 or more goals in 4 of the 8 seasons.
He ranged from a low of 8 goals to a high of 29 goals.
His most impressive year was 28 goals because he had 0 PK goals that year. The 29 goals were buffed with 6 pk's.

I think you are dead on with your number of 34 for Pepi.

Please post your number on the other two and I'll comment on those two.

Tillman picked up an injury in training and did not dress for Leverkusen’s game. They do not know how long he will be out. They are hoping it is a day to day thing but are ruling him out of their next game against Chelsea.

Any Barca fans here understand what is going on?

Diego Kochen could be the starting goalkeeper against Mallorca for the Liga opening match.

From an English reporter

=======

Understand Fulham left-back Antonee Robinson has rejected an approach from Saudi Arabia as he considers his next move this summer.

Despite giving the offer some thought, the U.S. international is said to be prioritising a switch to Serie A or remaining in the Premier League

Any Barca fans here understand what is going on?
It's some sort of god-awful cluster**** regarding Ter Stegan. My understanding, which might be completely wrong, is that he was really pissed off that they sat him last year to avoid paying him a bonus and didn't care for some of the offseason treatment and/or chatter. And is playing some sort of game with his medical condition/injury/not sure in order to royally **** Barca and keep them from freeing up the funds that it would take to replace him. Barca have lost their minds about all this and have turned him into public enemy #1. Which makes him want to screw the team even more.

Regardless of whether I have that right, it's a total flaming dumpster.

Barcelona has temporarily stripped Ter Stegen of the captaincy, amid a serious dispute over his recent back surgery and how long he will be sidelined.

Here’s how it all broke down:
  • Ter Stegen underwent back surgery on July 29, 2025. ESPN.com
  • The club asked him to sign a long-term medical leave—which, if approved (meaning at least four months out), could free up 80% of his wages to help register new signings and meet financial fair play rules.
  • Ter Stegen publicly stated he'd be out for only three months, which clashes with LaLiga’s four‑month minimum requirement. This has frustrated the club and sparked the dispute.
  • As a result, disciplinary proceedings were opened, and the captaincy was passed to vice-captain Ronald Araújo—pending resolution of the matter
There’s clear evidence that Marc‑André ter Stegen missing out on a bonus—reportedly tied to appearances in the final game of the last season—has contributed to his current stance and heightened tensions with Barcelona. According to reports, Ter Stegen “was reportedly left frustrated … missing the final appearance also meant losing out on a performance‑related bonus tied to the number of games played this season.” (ETA: he lost 3.5MM euros because Barca didn't start him in their final game.)

Cavan is back from Man City. This is what the Union coach had to say:

“He’s been pretty hard to stop in training since he got back.”
“The last couple days he’s been excellent. He’s made our lives a misery on the training pitch in a good way.”

What im reading is that Allegri now rates Musah and wants him around. But it doesnt sound like hes considered the right fit for the 3 man MF they intend to run, so if Napoli or Forest come sniffing back around with the right money, it might happen

What im reading is that Allegri now rates Musah and wants him around. But it doesnt sound like hes considered the right fit for the 3 man MF they intend to run, so if Napoli or Forest come sniffing back around with the right money, it might happen
"Now, Matteo Moretto has provided an update on what the current situation is regarding Musah, painting a different picture from a few weeks ago.

“Things have changed with Musah too. He’s convincing Allegri, who believes he can work well with the player in the future, and believes he can create a project around Musah,” he said (via MilanNews).

“So far, I don’t see Napoli making a strong comeback for Musah, but if any team were to make an offer for Musah, I’m told that €25m wouldn’t even be enough. Milan are seriously considering keeping Musah for next season as well.” "

(Matteo Moretto is an Italian journalist and soccer transfer correspondent for ESPN.com)

Eta .. another Milan MF, Bondo, just accepted a move out- leaving the team with 6 MFs which apparently their target. 2 other MFs are for sale, and clearly not in their plans. Musah would obviously be cover for the highly rated people they've brought in and not featured...so not necessarily optimal for him getting minutes and showing his qualities before the WC.

FWIW, the ter Stegen bonus story seems to be repeated a lot, but I haven't been able to find anything hard/confirming on it. So, grain of salt I guess.
It's Barcelona so you can be assured both sides are heavily planting stories in their media. Seems weird that we would elect to have surgery so late in the offseason.

Always drama about "registering" players due to La Liga rules, but I would assume it gets done.

Freeman has been racking up assists lately. Of course when you are passing to talent like this……

Speaking of: Link

Villarreal have agreed a deal in principle for #USMNT right-back Alex Freeman. Premier League clubs have been interested in Orlando City player, 20, who played 6 times at Gold Cup this summer - but clock ticking on landing him

Here is an update from Bogert

Tom Bogert

@tombogert

On USMNT right back Alexander Freeman, per sources: NO agreement between Orlando City and Villarreal on transfer. Orlando still don't want to sell this summer. 18 months left on contract. Orlando have an offer out to make him U-22 initiative.

Freeman could run down contract and leave in January 2027.

Villarreal one of many teams who want Freeman.

Balogun picked up a minor injury in previous friendly and did not dress today against Inter Milan
Well sure
Yep, there is no clearer indication that the Euro season is close at hand than our players getting hurt.

Pulisic has been ruled out of at least the next two friendlies due to an ankle injury and Tillman is still hurt and has not yet played for BL. Tillman missed today’s game and is expected to miss the DFK Cup game coming up.

It's a good thing that Pulisic gave his body the rest it needed over the summer. :rimshot:

Of course, Tillman probably is broken because Poch played him into the ground.
