US Men's National Team (15 Viewers)

Small update. If the medical goes well, I assume he could dress by next week. Gladbach play tomorrow but I am unsure even if all paper work is signed he would dress

============

Gio Reyna to Borussia Mönchengladbach is a done deal. A full agreement has been reached as Gio finally said yes.

The total transfer fee is up to €7M. €3M guaranteed + €4M in potential add-ons. Around €3M of those are considered realistic bonuses.

Gio will undergo his medical today

Just saw Frabrizio post a picture of Gio officially signing his contract so I assume he passed the medical.

Contract is through June 2028

From Opta

Only Erling Haaland (48 at the Etihad Stadium) and Mohamed Salah (38 at Anfield) have scored more goals in a single venue than Josh Sargent (33 at Carrow Road) in the top 4 leagues of English football since the start of the 2022-23 season. Home

All the ingredients for a redemption arc. Now he needs to go execute it.

How quickly my frown turned upside down

All the guys are finally on teams, starting, scoring.

Its finally not only injuries and no team having nonsense
If we can get Balogun on the field tomorrow, that leaves just Jedi and Tillman to get back to playing. I would have liked Musah's situation to improve but that may be for not.

We will still be missing a bunch of players in September, but getting back on the field at club level is step 1.

It appears Poch is going to call up CB Tristan Blackmon (Van) in the next window. I appreciate that he continues to look at the pool. Blackmon has played well this year.

But while we need options at the position, he's 29 so I'm not particularly optimistic he's suddenly become a NT level player. That said, every once in a while - particularly at CB - there are guys that seem to emerge really late. So maybe that's him.

It does suggest Poch is not particularly happy with his options as he kicks tires on guys, which is pretty hard to disagree with. I wish it was Noahkai Banks though. But he may see Banks as not being ready til post his tenure.

Banks has to get some regular playing time before the WC if wants any hope of being called up. The injury last year came at such a terrible time as he was just starting to get some PT.

I am nervously awaiting what Augsburg and Dortmund do with Banks and Campbell for the U20 WC next month as I assume both would be called up by the US.

oh, I did not expect this.

Jedi dressed today! I don't know if he will play but that has to be another good sign.

I'm hoping the U20 World Cup can be a spring board for a few guys to break out this year. We're a little more than a month away.

Right now, Campbell, Banks, Wynder, and Kochen all seem on the verge of first team looks but none are playing. Others like Miller, Bombino, Gozo, and Habroune are making names for themselves in MLS and a tournament breakout could see them move this winter. And a few stalwarts (Raines, Cremaschi, Tsakiris. Soma, Figueroa) are finding their stars fade, and this could reignite them.

As weak as the 2005 class seems, there is a fair bit of talent on this roster if releases are obtained.

Jedi is on for a good 30 minute run
He looks right as rain. He chased down Mbeumo on a breakaway and just effortlessly beat him.
yes, this was absolutely nothing but good news!!

You could never tell he has not played for months now. He was quick, fast and his touch was decent. He was getting up and down the wing as normal and the play you highlighted showed he lost nothing in his top gear.

I am so encouraged that I am hopeful he will get called up for the Sept games and Fulham won't fight it again.

Having Dest and Jedi both available should change things quite a bit for Poch who needs his FB's to be important players.

With Gattuso gone, Rokas Pukstas has returned to being a full-time starter for Split. He's started the last 3 games (after coming off bench in opener) and has played pretty well per the stats/ratings. Split have won their first 4.

One thing that stands out - and Pukstas has always been a heavy-action player - is that he won 16 duels today (Fotmob notes it was most in the game....hardly surprising). But then I looked at his duel numbers for the season and he's won 54 in 273 minutes played, or about 18 per 90. He actually lowered his average today.

He recently turned down a move to MLS but rumors are he may move before the window closes. He turns 21 tomorrow. One to watch this week.
