Vernand Morency might start Sunday if Ahman Green (hamstring) can't play.Green, injured during practice Friday, is listed as questionable. Morency is worth picking up in all fantasy leagues. If Green is among the Packers' Week 3 inactives, you could do worse than Morency as a flex.Source: Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel

Key word "might". Herron "might" start as well. My $$ is on Herron if Green can't play, and it has nothing to do with the fact that I own Herron in one of 5 leagues. There's some good conversation on the subject in many recent threads, so I won't bore you with redundancy.

True, but Morency is definitely the guy McCarthy and Thompson want to step up and take the job should anything happen to Green. Herron is nothing more than an ordinary RB; the Packers believe Morency is more than that -- maybe even much more. I anticipated Herron getting the token start this week should Green sit due mainly to Morency still picking things up, but he's reportedly picked up the offense extremely well and that could valut him ahead of Herron on the depth chart as quickly as tomorrow. There had already been talk as early as last Monday that Morency was going to see action this week as the third-down RB.With respect to this week, here's an interesting excerpt from the article in the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel today: "In a walk-through Friday to open practice, Green ran most of the plays with the No. 1 offense. If there was little chance for him to play, it's likely that the coaches would have tried to give Morency and Noah Herron every snap possible. They did take all the snaps in the team portion."
