-QGOh...I didn't realize additional $$ wasn't made from parking, concessions, etc.The game is sold out.Eagles, NFL, whoever gets $$ from having a full stadium as opposed to an empty one. Is that better?Better get your facts straight.... NFL decides this, not the Eagles.....Full disclosure....I'm playing against Vick this week.I don't know jack about how Philly deals with snow. But if there are people already there and if the city truly does have public transportation that takes you right to the stadium then they need to play the game. This seems to be more about the Eagles not wanting a half empty stadium. Additionally, it's really unfair for the Vikings to have to deal with this for the third time and I'm sure the Eagles don't want a short week next week either. You can play the game and Eagles fans can watch it on TV like the rest of America. Or is it unsafe for football players to play in snow now as well?![]()
That's one terrible comparison. Just saying.I think you guys are missing the point of a cancellation, they are worried about people getting too and from the game, plus word is there will be a state of emergency issued to keep people off roads so crews can get them clear for work tomorrow.
outside of football, it makes sense.I worked in Wisconsin for 30 years and my place of employment NEVER closed because of snow. NEVER!I think you guys are missing the point of a cancellation, they are worried about people getting too and from the game, plus word is there will be a state of emergency issued to keep people off roads so crews can get them clear for work tomorrow.

This country has become a bunch of babies.
nfl has stated that this is a week 17 game for fantasy purposes and the eagles and vikes will be considered to have played 2 week 17 games.will this game count towards week 16 in most leagues? how can we find out?
I just heard it confirmed on ESPN. See Ya NFL I will find a better pass time.
must be playing against vick...my condolencesDude...I don't know if you are serious here, but any kind of driving/teansportaion in a snow emergency is dangerous. All of the city'0s resources will be used at that point to not only deal with snow removal, but also help the morons who are out driving themselves for whatever reason. They do not need an avoidable situation where there are an extra 30000 cars on the road trying frantically to make a game on time. As a person who actually lives in a winter type climate (Wisconsin), I can tell you for sure that if they played a sports game in a situation where there was an actual snow emergency it would cause major problems. As a matter of fact, as I write this I am remembering a Bucks/Hornets game that was cancelled two years ago for the exact same reason, why put people in the situation where they have to decide whether to risk their lives on the road, or dump a couple hundred bucks worth of tickets for nothing?I have to agree with those who are posting that our society seems to be getting more and more afraid of things that years ago, we would not have thought twice about doing. Seriously, I know it is a whole heckuva lot of snow and wind, but what the heck? State of emergency? Curfews? What in the world? Something is terribly wrong with the back bone of our society any more. We are being whimpified and sissified. Pathetic country of pansies any more.
Yea sure. We'll see ya Tuesday.I just heard it confirmed on ESPN. See Ya NFL I will find a better pass time.
Any folks that were alreAdy at the venue > 8 hours before game time deserves the fate that they've been dealt and I'm a season ticket holder of a northeast team that has commuted 120 miles each way to many a bad weather game.Publi. Transportation is only an option for < 10% of the fan baseFull disclosure....I'm playing against Vick this week.I don't know jack about how Philly deals with snow. If you get put under a state of emergency, you close cause nobody is allowed on the road, except for road crews and emergency personal. That is whats going to happen in Eastern PA.Its that simple.I think you guys are missing the point of a cancellation, they are worried about people getting too and from the game, plus word is there will be a state of emergency issued to keep people off roads so crews can get them clear for work tomorrow.outside of football, it makes sense.I worked in Wisconsin for 30 years and my place of employment NEVER closed because of snow. Repeating it does not make it right. Please explain why southern cities that rarely experience any snow scramble when anything more than a dusting occurs?I will repeat!I worked in Wisconsin for 30 years and my place of employment NEVER closed because of snow. NEVER!This country has become a bunch of babies. This isn't about the game, it's about the families and employees traveling to the game. You all need to gain some perspective.

1 move game up2 move to yesterday3 announce on sat that weather may be factor don't go early4 play the gameEnlighten us.The NFL really dropped the ball here. There were about 3 ways the could have handled this better

If they were so concerned, why wasn't this game bumped to 1 PM??intrinsic said:They should have just announced yesterday the game was bumped up to the 1pm slot to avoid the brunt of the storm and moved another game somewhere else to Sunday night timeslot.
Oh well, now its a cluster####.
Cant believe Philly is declaring a snow emergency for a storm that hasnt happened yet. Pansies.
have you seen southern california when they get a little rain? it's all over the news, STORM WATCH 2010 etc.Repeating it does not make it right. Please explain why southern cities that rarely experience any snow scramble when anything more than a dusting occurs?I will repeat!I worked in Wisconsin for 30 years and my place of employment NEVER closed because of snow. ...which is basically what this is all about. has nothing to do with the spirit of the game or lombardi rolling in his grave. everyone crying here is pissed that they're gonna get ramrodded by vick in favorable conditions.SCREWED BY THE NFL!I'm playing against Vick in my Championship game. Since when does the NFL cancel games because of weather?! Ridiculous. They've played in fog, snow, ice, blizzards, rain, etc.I'm pissed off. Yes, I want the advantage of the blizzard slowing Vick down. He's the hottest player in fantasy football. Anything to slow him down is good. Most teams that own Vick didn't draft him ... they simply got lucky either through waivers or a quick FA pickup. Now they are getting another lucky break by this NFL decision.Everyone playing against Vick in their Championship game just got screwed.
huh?nfl has stated that this is a week 17 game for fantasy purposes and the eagles and vikes will be considered to have played 2 week 17 games.will this game count towards week 16 in most leagues? how can we find out?
man walks into a bar . . . oh wait, that was not a request.What a joke....
Funny, these are the same people who act tough, then they drive in this and crash and first thing they complain about is road crews not having the roads done.. Alot easier on those folks is there is no traffic on the road.Dude...I don't know if you are serious here, but any kind of driving/teansportaion in a snow emergency is dangerous. Ha. The point is that cities/states like Wisconsin, upstate NY, Vermont, etc, are very well equipped to handle snow. Buffalo rarely shuts down unless it's awful. 20" in Philly is much more likely to shut down a city than 20" in Buffalohave you seen southern california when they get a little rain? it's all over the news, STORM WATCH 2010 etc.Repeating it does not make it right. Please explain why southern cities that rarely experience any snow scramble when anything more than a dusting occurs?I will repeat!I worked in Wisconsin for 30 years and my place of employment NEVER closed because of snow. fine see yano marriages for the nfl, but they can openly serve in the military now!!NFL just got gheyer.
the f'n moron Mayor of Philly declared the 'state of emergency'.. he's a dope and attention whore.. I really hope this storm fizzles out, just like most every major snow predicitions in the Philly area.. not even an inch on the ground..If you get put under a state of emergency, you close cause nobody is allowed on the road, except for road crews and emergency personal. No it isn't. Its not even snowing here. People could have made it there just fineThis isn't about the game, it's about the families and employees traveling to the game. You all need to gain some perspective.
1. It has been proven it is fine to play in the snow.2. When did Phiil move to the south? Are you saying the NFL feels the people in Phiily aren't capable of handling this?Repeating it does not make it right. Please explain why southern cities that rarely experience any snow scramble when anything more than a dusting occurs?I will repeat!I worked in Wisconsin for 30 years and my place of employment NEVER closed because of snow. The key is Favre, they moved this game twice now.buck naked said:I'd be shocked if they did. Sunday night football, in the snow, Michael Vick = great TV ratings.

F That. Outside of maybe 2-3 inches of snow being predicted, this is the same weather that the Bears / Pats just played in two weeks ago. It's a BS call by the league.I think you guys are missing the point of a cancellation, they are worried about people getting too and from the game, plus word is there will be a state of emergency issued to keep people off roads so crews can get them clear for work tomorrow.outside of football, it makes sense.
