Week 05 2024 who should I start thread **OFFICIALLY UNOFFICIAL** (1 Viewer)

Flex PPR
Hunt or Smith-Njigba?
I actually lean Hunt. I say actually, because FBG and Fantasypros both have JSN higher.

I think KC relies on the run more, I don't think we see a situation where NO gets way up, and the game script should support the Hunt.

Standard league :

Njoku vs Wash
or
Freiermuth vs Dallas
or Zach Ertz vs Cle?
I probably go Freirmuth here. Don't know that I'm ready to trust Njoku week 1 back from injury if you have another option. I think Ertz is more of an ok fill in if you're out of options, feels like the lowest upside.

If Flacco starts @ Jacksonville, would anyone bench Caleb vs Carolina for him? SF, Purdy is my 1, Caleb vs Joe for the flex.
Looks to be a tight game as my opponent started London.
Flacco.

Had 2 TD's last week with a tougher matchup. Should eat vs Jax.

Thanks @Chaka and everyone else as always, I try to keep my questions to a minimum and not too dumb. Interesting one (to me) this week. My matchup is evenly rated.

Need 1 WR, half-ppr, keep 4 league, although the keeper part should not play (?? lol) in this start decision:

Waddle @NE (ugh, and the reason for this post, this would be my last choice)
Lockett v NYG (lower variance, boring choice)
T. Atwell v GB (higher potential, but near impossible to judge if it will be Atwell or Whittington)
J. Whittington v GB (see above)

I picked up Atwell and Whittington earlier this week because I didn't know between the two and was hoping for some further clarity that never came (that I saw). Also, I will need to drop Atwell or Whittington to pick up a K for the week, so that makes a small impact for longer-term (this year) potential use. I don't think I'm at the point of dropping Waddle yet.

TIA
Atwwell was it the last 2 weeks. Stafford seems to like him, at least these last 2 weeks. I think I'd stick with the hot hand there. GB should score a lot and LAR will have to pass.

R.Stevenson or Tucker WR/LV for last flex?
I said in the Rhamondre thread I think the benching is a slap on the wrist/ceremonial thing to make a point. Miami has given 7 rushing TD's so far this season. I actually think Rhamondre is going to be pretty good today. Tucker very boom/bust. I don't like the Broncos matchup.

Rhamondre all day.

PPR flex spot
Wan'Dale Robinson @ Seattle
Brian Robinson Jr vs Cleveland
I could also start both of those and bench DJ Moore vs Carolina (but I kind of feel like he's the Bears main weapon and should be started)
I'm going Wandale in PPR. He already sees healthy targets/receptions. They'll be playing from behind, without Nabers. Big day incoming.

Bonus:
12-team 1 QB league.

Pick 3 of these 4 mediocre starters!
Najee vs DAL, JaWill @ LVR, Tyrone Tracey, Trey Sermon.

Right now leaning Najee, JaWill, Tracey, the Sermon is tempting.
Najee
JaWill
Tracy

I think Giants play from behind and without Nabers there, we may see more RB dumpoffs. I just don't think Sermon has been very good. I'm also not sure Tracy is very good, but we've seen more Sermon.

I think with Richardson and JT out, they look to air it out more vs a Jax team that gives up the most Fantasy points per game to opposing QB's. Sermon might get into the endzone, but I think that's your hope with him. I think Tracy could see more passing game work given the lack of reliable targets.

Tyreek or Mclaurin

Non ppr

First week im considering benching hill.
First week I think you may be right.

Tyreek can do it in one play but McLaurin and Daniels seem to be gelling the last two weeks.

I don't want to be the cause of you going wrong with this decision but

Mclaurin>Tyreek

4 points per passing TD:

J Love or J Daniels?

Projected to lose by 5. I actually think both have pretty insane upside. Love has the better matchup. Cleveland is ranked 26th in terms of Fantasy points given up to QB. I lean Love, but am I crazy?

I don't think you're crazy at all. My only concern is being down Doubs & Watson does the Pack try to go run heavy?

I think I also, tentatively start Love but it's very close.

Need 3 out of Tyreek, Achane, Sermon, Thomas Jr. and Worthy. Hill and Achane have the ability and talent and I will likely need big points this week. However, they also have major bust potential. I am slightly concerned about the weather in the Jaguars/Colts game.

Lots of boom bust potential.

I probably go with your biggest boom players.

Tyreek, Achane & Thomas.

Sub Thomas for Worthy of the weather concerns you too much in Jax. Personally the only weather that concerns me is rain.

Tried to get in as many as I could. Good luck ladies and gents!

@Chaka thanks for doing this each week.

I'm hardly an insider/expert. I try to work through a bunch of these with stats/facts/logic and feel that it helps me get a better feel for guys each week.

You get it.

I think answering these questions gives me a much better feel for players, teams & matchups as the week progresses.

I went with Sermon.

If it's PPR, looks like you'll be ok. He's geting a ton of dump offs.

Yeah - he had 3 runs inside the 5 but couldn’t convert. But I have Pittman too, so that worked out ok.

Wan'Dale Robinson @ Seattle
Brian Robinson Jr vs Cleveland
I could also start both of those and bench DJ Moore vs Carolina (but I kind of feel like he's the Bears main weapon and should be started)
Anyone have advice on this?
I would keep Moore in. Fairly close but I think you need to go B Rob.
I started Brian Robinson Jr.! And DJ Moore of course!

PPR league. Have a bunch of "meh" and wrestling with 2 of:

Ekeler v CLE
Mattison v DEN
Sermon v JAX
Rhamondre v MIA
I might risk it on Sermon. He is in line for starter touches and I can't confidently say that about any of your other options. He also has a decent matchup.

Rhamondre would be my next choice, with the hope he is being benched only for the first series. Also a good matchup.
Great calls, thanks for the POV.
