Week 16 2024 who should I start thread **OFFICIALLY OFFICIAL** (3 Viewers)

6 point passing TD

Bo Nix @ Chargers (14th vs QB) (Thursday night)
Jared Goff @ Bears (1st vs QB)

Lions D is insanely banged up, so Bears might be able to put up points and force Goff to keep up. Or the Bears might just stink. I also don't like Goff out in the cold. But Goff has been playing very well lately. Current forecast is 28 degrees and 8 mph winds, so pretty good for December in Chicago.

Nix has a better matchup, but he's been more shaky lately.

Goff all day.

Significant underdog this week, all TDs 6 points.
QB - Darnold @ Sea, Purdy @ Mia
Thread seems high on Darnold and that's the way I lean, but don't trust either. Tempted by Maye, Rodgers, Rush, or Richardson off waivers, roughly in that order. I will be rolling out A. Jones and Guerendo, so the double dip opportunities are there. Speaking of which,
RBs - Guerendo @ Mia, A. Jones @Sea, Bucky @Dal is who I have in. Anybody swapping in Ford @Cin for one of those three? He should have a high floor, but it's not like he blew the doors off earlier in the year.

1/2 point PPR:

Pick one:

Anthony Richardson vs Tenn
Tua T vs Niners

Pick two:
Joe Mixon @ KC
Rico Dowdle vs TB
Bucky Irving @ Dallas

Pick one:
Brock Bowers (assume crap sandwich Ridder is starting, if Aiden is starting I will roll with Brock) vs Jax
Brenton Strange @ LV

Standard scoring. Flex…Tracy at atl or Ford at cincy. I think I’m leaning Ford. Atl tougher against rbs. Giants nightmare at qb. How much will they move the ball? Will giants be playing catch up? Penix? Will singletary vulture again. No Chubb helps ford a lot. Cle also back up qb. Will they be playing catch up? Most likely but how bad? Thank you very much.

0.5 PPR

QB pick one
Russell Wilson at Ravens
Nix at Chargers

TE pick one:
Kraft vs Saints
Kincaid vs Pats
I lean Wilson because of the matchup and the pressure Baltimore's offense can put in opposition offenses. However, lacking Pickens really limits the Steelers (too bad they can't trade for Diontae Johnson). Nix had an okay game against the Chargers earlier but he's running a lot less lately so...

Tentatively, Russ.

Also tentatively Kincaid as it's a good matchup and the Bills score in bunches.

Purdy vs a stout Dolphins pass defense and sucking the last few weeks, or Rush against a leaky Bucs pass defense?

Goff. Not even questioning it if it goes wrong.

Full PPR - pick 3 RB's

Chase Brown vs Browns (5th vs RB)
James Conner at Panthers (32nd vs RB)
Jonathan Taylor vs Titans (17th vs RB)
Bucky Irving at Cowboys (25th vs RB, but playing better lately now that injured guys are coming back)
Jerome Ford at Bengals (16th vs RB - DTR at QB might mean more running and more dump offs to RB)
Ford is the first odd man out for me. Just because he isn't as talented as the others and, now he very likely doesn't have a QB pressing defenses deep.

After that it's tougher.

Brown seems like an auto start.

Taylor, realistically is also an auto start, and I think he will also carry a chip into this week's game.

Between Bucky and Conner...it's a toss up. Bucky has been just calling but Conner is as steady as they come. I think I ride the hot hand with Bucky. But, really you can't go wrong (well, you can buy they're both good options).

Full PPR - pick 3 pass catchers (WR and TE are the same position for us)

Ja'Marr Chase vs Browns (26th vs WR)
Cooper Kupp at Jets (6th vs WR) - I wasn't please with Kupp's goose egg last week, but I survived it
Terry McLaurin vs Eagles (1st vs WR - also the Saints gathered 8 sacks last week vs Commodores)
TJ Hockenson at Seahawks (20th vs TE)
Bench Hock and don't look back IMO. He just doesn't have the upside and has a mediocre floor.

Significant underdog this week, all TDs 6 points.
QB - Darnold @ Sea, Purdy @ Mia

Considering your options I stick with Darnold. If his name wasn't Darnold he'd be in the MVP conversation.

Unless you're really in need of some kind of grand slam homer, in which case you might as well go with Richardson. But, for me it's Darnold.

And I'm not swapping Ford with DTR at QB.

0.5 PPR (I need one WR and then one flex from this bunch):
  • Meyers vs. Jaguars
  • Devonta Smith vs. Commanders
  • Amari Cooper vs. Patriots
  • Pacheco vs. Texans

I'd lean Ford too, though not with much confidence. I had Ford early in the season thinking I'd get 6 weeks of RB2 production, and that didn't happen.

Purdy vs a stout Dolphins pass defense and sucking the last few weeks, or Rush against a leaky Bucs pass defense?

Ugh ... after last week, I think I'd bench Purdy out of general principle :P. Rush looked a lot sharper in the last game. As a 2x Lamb owner I hope that continues.

Here's mine (half PPR).

Start 3 (for 2 WR spots and the flex):
Tyreek vs SF
London vs NYG
Sutton @ LAC
BT Jr @ LV
Guerendo @ Dolphins

Pretty sure I want to start Guerendo. But I'm stuck with the WRs.

1/2 point PPR:

Pick one:

Anthony Richardson vs Tenn
Tua T vs Niners

Pick two:
Joe Mixon @ KC
Rico Dowdle vs TB
Bucky Irving @ Dallas

Pick one:
Brock Bowers (assume crap sandwich Ridder is starting, if Aiden is starting I will roll with Brock) vs Jax
Brenton Strange @ LV
Tough one. It's a total guy call. I guess I lean Richardson because of his wheels and it's a better matchup.

Crazy to say it but I think I bench Mixon. That matchup is rough.

They're playing each other so you'll know if O'Connell is starting in time. I did get a Sleeper notification that Strange is Q ATM, so monitor that.

I'm a bit off Ford with DTR at QB. However, Tracy currently has a Q injury designation so, yeah ATM I can see going with Ford.

On to week 15!

.5 ppr

BTJ @ LV - never started him, but keeps getting the love
London v NYG - new QB?
Evans @ Dal - going for 1000
Henry v Pit - underwhelming lately / Hill DNP
JJ @ Sea - Addison taking more reception

I need to sit 2

0.5 PPR (I need one WR and then one flex from this bunch):
  • Meyers vs. Jaguars
  • Devonta Smith vs. Commanders
  • Amari Cooper vs. Patriots
  • Pacheco vs. Texans
With Ridder potentially starting for the Raiders I think Devonta is the call at WR. For whatever reason the Bills see Amari as a decoy mostly.

For the flex I may wait on the Raider QB announcement. If O'Connell plays Jakobi, if not Pacheco.

Start your studs (JJ and Henry). Of the other 3, I think I'd stay away from London until I see what Penix has. So between BTJ and Evans ... I'd go Evans.

FFPC scoring:
Let's assume Kamara is out:

Need ONE to flex:
R.Doubbs vs NO
J.Downs vs TENN
D.Mooney vs NYG

0.5ppr, bonus for long TDs (1-9yd = 6, 10-39yd = 9, 40+yd = 12)

Need ONE to replace Monty
  • Pacheco
  • Spears
  • Kendre
Four scenarios:
  • Pollard and Kamara are both OUT
  • Kamara only OUT
  • Pollard only OUT
  • Both play

Ford for sure

Sutton @ LAC

IDK but I think Tyreek because he's Tyreek and he's been on a nice run before last week.

Sutton because he's been on a serious run.

And BTJ over Guerendo, IMO, with the news Trent Williams is out for the season.

We are on the same page...this is who I am leaning towards on all fronts.

I may chicken out and start Mixon.

Tough calls. Personally I have no problem benching London with the rookie in his first start.

Can't believe I am suggesting this but, to me it comes down to JJ or Henry. BTJ is getting crazy volume, Strange popped up on the injury report as Q too. And I just believe in Mike Evans too much ATM.

Look you have to make this decision on your own. I personally think I might bench Henry...or JJ.

You're hoping for a TD so I tentatively go with Downs and hope Richardson airs a couple out to him.

But really, these options are a blind dart throws.

Tyjae was a fluke last week IMO. And I won't rely on Kendre, even if he is the starter, with his QB situation and playing in GB.

So, Pacheco.

Does adding Mattison to the mix change your opinion?

Not really but I can see it with the matchup, assuming McCormick is out (is he in IR?).

-1 penalty for sacks, I need to hitch my wagon to either:

Jayden Daniels vs Philly or
Baker Mayfield at Dallas

For DST I'm currently leaning Bills, but I have no clue who will have the biggest day between:
Indy vs Tenn
Bills vs NE
Falcons vs NYG

I have Terry at WR so my current plan is to start Jayden and sink or swim with the Commies.
If I wanted to get cute I could pivot to Baker + Jalen McMillan...

BTJ is my WR2; DK and Pickens are my other WRs, but I'm reluctant to play either.

Daniels vs PHI
Baker @ DAL

Who ya got? Have Daniels in right now but Baker has the better matchup. I’m starting White and probably McMillan, if yall like to hedge and not start so many people from the same team.

Yup. IR.

QB-premium scoring league (6pt passing TDs, 0.25 points per completion; net effect is to elevate pocket passers over running QBs)

Nix @ LAC
Stafford @NYJ

Nix has been solid for me over the back half of the year, but I’m leaning Stafford. Jets aren’t the same scary matchup they were earlier in the season, whereas Chargers are still tough. Meanwhile Stafford with all his weapons healthy has a better upside

Non-PPR, pick one:

Higgins vs Cle
Adams vs Rams
Jennings @ Miami

Been facing this dilemma ever since everyone got healthy/past their bye. I have Nico and Evans locked in, and then have to choose between the other three for my final spot. Last week I chose poorly (Jennings) but fortunately survived and made the semis. I’m leaning Higgins, but it’s hard to ignore how well Davante has been doing lately
I lean Stafford as well but I can see why it's close. Have you checked weather in NJ?
27 and sunny

Standard scoring non-ppr league. I'm changing up my original question:

First, I'm starting Ford over Stevenson in my RB3 role since it's a brutal matchup for NE.

Now, I see that Charbs is questionable with an oblique injury (I have Walker as well).

I need to start 2 of these 4 players:

Charbs/Walker vs MIN - If either one is active I have to think I am starting him
Stevenson @BUF - Brutal matchup
JSN vs MIN - Still a good play for non-ppr with Howell or a gimpy Smith?
Miller @GB - I can get Miller off of waivers tonight if he should be one of the two from this list that I play.

As always, thanks for the advice.
