Week 16 2024 who should I start thread **OFFICIALLY OFFICIAL** (1 Viewer)

Denver D @ LAC
Indy D vs Titans

Broncos put up 24 points last Indy
Indy finished with 14 points vs Den

Our league rewards a lot of points for Defense (points and yards against)
Normally I say go with the best IRL defense, which is definitely Denver IMO. And I think that is a good move here as the Chargers aren't exactly a prolific offense but they're solid and don't make a ton of mistakes.

Indy has an opportunity with a pretty bad Titans offense and I don't think Mason Rudolph is going to help. Yeah, I think I would go with Indianapolis.

If I have to pivot away from Charbonnet I'm screwed. That would mean Javante Williams against the Chargers, Jaylen Warren against the Ravens, or Abdullah against the Jaguars. At least with Abdullah I'll probably get enough receptions to give him a 10 point floor. I suppose there's always the possibility that if Hall misses I would have Isaiah Davis and would play him, but Hall will probably play. Not a good position to be in for sure.
Jeez…I think I’d play Williams unless you’re a serious underdog, then I’d roll Abdullah and hope he cashes in a receiving TD.
I'm so Williams adverse I'm leaning Abdullah if Charbs doesn't play. Not to wish Hall out because I have him in another league, but if that happens I would play Isaiah Davis in both. But that isn't going to happen.
Rewind to August and somebody tells you you're starting Ameer Abdullah in the fantasy semifinals 🤣

But I'd probably start him over Javonte too. Would lean Warren of the three though, especially if Pickens sits. Might be more passing downs than normal if they're chasing points.
Depending on RB receiving stats is tough. Baltimore has a great run stopping team, so it's a little more than risky to play Warren. I'm probably out on him.
Yeah, but you’re not playing Warren for his rush yards as much as you are for the 3-4 catches, 30 yards, etc. More points in the BAL/PIT game. With those QBs, LV/JAX could be 13-9.

With Pickens out, pick one FLEX:
  • Rhamondre @ BUF (certain RB1, road, cold, likely negative game script, team total 16.5)
  • Rachaad @ DAL (RB1B, road, dome, better offense, team total 26)
Worth noting: I'm already starting Evans and Bucky. Can you really triple up on skill position guys this week? Most rankings have these two right next to each other.

Significant underdog this week, all TDs 6 points.
QB - Darnold @ Sea, Purdy @ Mia
Thread seems high on Darnold and that's the way I lean, but don't trust either. Tempted by Maye, Rodgers, Rush, or Richardson off waivers, roughly in that order. I will be rolling out A. Jones and Guerendo, so the double dip opportunities are there. Speaking of which,
RBs - Guerendo @ Mia, A. Jones @Sea, Bucky @Dal is who I have in. Anybody swapping in Ford @Cin for one of those three? He should have a high floor, but it's not like he blew the doors off earlier in the year.
Darnold would be my call at QB.

Guerendo sounds out, so Ford looks like your default option.
Yuck! I see that now. I have Patrick Taylor, Jr. too, but that seems like a risky bet to just assume he's going to get a full workload. I guess it's Ford, although if Pollard's out I would probably sub in Spears. That's my team this year in a nutshell - a plethora of injuries and a bunch of mediocre options.

Lost Kamara

Miller @ GB
P Taylor vs MIA
Assuming PPR here, I have a similar issue at flex and would go with Miller.

Taylor has a better matchup on paper, but we haven’t seen him play and for all we know, he won’t get a full workload.

Miller should have tough sledding at Lambeau, but should have the backfield mostly to himself and could get a lot of dumpoffs for PPR purposes.

Strange Days Indeed...

TE Premium1.5 PPR for TE, 1 PPR for WR, need 1 for flex

Strange or Ridley

! PPR, already starting A. Jones and Addison in the rain

Strange or Hockenson

Need one QB of Stafford at Jets or Love vs. Saints.

Jets defense clearly not the same since Saleh's firing. Both QBs playing well. The weather for Packers-Saints looks to be worse and with the Saints playing Rattler expecting the Packers to be more conservative and with the weather doing more running.

I am leaning Stafford but it seems like a tossup either way. Thanks in advance.

Have a Flex question - this is .5ppr....

Tyreek Hill vs SF
K Miller @ GB

I need a safe floor this week....but also don't want to see Hill go off on my bench in the semi's.....my other WR's playing are Higgins, Puka, Evans....RB's Saquon and Breece....I could sit Breece for Miller?

I'm facing this choice in 2 separate ppr super flex leagues.

It looks like both Alvin Kamara and Isaac Guerendo are now expected to be out this week.

Would you rather start Kendre Miller or Patrick Taylor this week?

Thanks in advance for any help or insights.

PPR Flex:

Jonathan Taylor v Ten (#25 v RBs)
Terry McLaurin v Phi (#1 v WRs)
Malik Nabers @ Atl (#30 v WRs)
Courtland Sutton @ LAC (#23 v WRs)

Currently rolling with Taylor almost certainly because he's a high volume guy, it's a good matchup which the Colts absolutely need and, I am hoping that his knucklehead play last week motivates the hell out of him.
I’d also go with Taylor. I think he has a monster game.

1)Start 1 qb..6 pt per TD pass..16 point underdog looking for high ceiling.

CJ Stroud at KC
Aiden O’Connell vs Jax

Leaning O’Connell as Jax gives up the most points to qb’s and KC isn’t an easy place to play.

2) 1 pt PPR

start 1 RB between

Kenneth Walker vs Minn
Aaron Jones at Seattle

Leaning Walker especially since Charbonnet is banged up. Can see Walker getting more carries than Jones and also more targets.

3) 1 pt PPR 3 point favorite

Pick 2 WR’s between

Drake London vs NYG
Jaxon Smith Njigba vs Minn
Tyreek Hill Vs SF
Malik Nabers at Atlanta
Jauan Jennings at Miami

Leaning JSN and Nabers

Thanks

Half PPR. Need to start two of these three....

Rachaad White TB @ DAL
Sutton DEN @ LAC
D Smith PHI @ WAS
Sutton and Devonta for me.

I like Rachaad enough but his work in the passing game has really gone down over the last month with seven targets over four games. Sutton is on a tear and Devonta has a good matchup and a lot more big play ability than White IMO.

With Pickens out, pick one FLEX:
  • Rhamondre @ BUF (certain RB1, road, cold, likely negative game script, team total 16.5)

Worth noting: I'm already starting Evans and Bucky. Can you really triple up on skill position guys this week? Most rankings have these two right next to each other.
Tough call. Personally I think I would have to start Rachaad. He may be losing touches but the offense is much more prolific and he's finding the end zone.

Strange Days Indeed...

Strange or Ridley

! PPR, already starting A. Jones and Addison in the rain

Strange or Hockenson
I have no problem chasing Strange's usage from last week. It may not pan out but with a 1.5 ppr for TEs I think it's worth the risk over a mid option like Ridley.

I think I go with Strange until we see if Darnold and Hock can ever truly get on the same page.

I guess I could worry a bit about this shaping up as a Josh Jacobs game in Green Bay. Love could still get you 200-2 but I don't think they'll need a heroic effort to win this on so I think he's capped a bit.

I think Stafford has a great coaching staff and skill position players around him.

Stafford>Love

Have a Flex question - this is .5ppr....

Tyreek Hill vs SF
K Miller @ GB

I need a safe floor this week....but also don't want to see Hill go off on my bench in the semi's.....my other WR's playing are Higgins, Puka, Evans....RB's Saquon and Breece....I could sit Breece for Miller?
I'm playing Tyreek. He's been solid since Tua came back with a TD in four of his last six games. And I think he still has the kind of potential to blow the doors off a game. I just don't know what to expect from Miller but with what's left on that offense, I'm not optimistic.

Tyreek.

Would you rather start Kendre Miller or Patrick Taylor this week?

Thanks in advance for any help or insights.
I'll go Kendre Miller. With the rookie at QB I think the Saints will at least try to rely on the run more. With Purdy I think the Niners pivot more to the passing game than Taylor.

It's crazy that I agree with O'Connell over Stroud but I do. Stroud is missing something this year.

I thought Walker was banged up too? I think I don't like how that backfield is shaping up and the Vikings have a very solid IRL run defense. I probably go with Jones.

I can get behind Nabers because the volume is going to be there. Personally I think I lean towards Tyreek at the other spot. At least until you have clarity on who the starting QB is in Seattle.

Walker practiced in full today and I think charbonet is limited and questionable. Good idea on waiting to see who starts at qb for Seattle..thanks as always

If Charbonet doesn't play then Walker is more interesting.

FTR over the last month Jones has 347 yards, 4 TD and 10 receptions averaging 5 ypc. Seattle has a below average run defense as well.

Walker has barely been healthy and faces the #2 run d in att, yards & TDs plus they're #3 in ypc against. Walker has been a heck of a back at times in his career but he's been having a seriously down year. He hasn't averaged four ypc in any of his five games played since 10/20. Personally I only consider him over Jones if Charbonet is out.

1 PPR for WR, 1.5 PPR for TE

My current lineup has

WR Shakir vs NE
FLEX Reed vs NO
TE Kraft vs NO

Feeling a little nervous about two Packers in there, but hopefully if one craters the other won't (a little nervous about Shakir too since after Amari last week, anyone can be shut out, and this could be a blowout with early rest)

Should either of these two guys make my lineup instead?

Downs vs TEN
Ferguson vs TB

That Ferguson matchup is so tasty, but he's done so little post-concussion and with Rush

We know what Downs can do, but it's hard to see TEN as the opponent where he'd put up numbers

(fwiw my matchup is supposedly a total tossup right now)

Sigh

1.
12 team SF PPR
Jeudy at CIN, or Ridley at INDY?

The change at QB is away for Jeudy, but it’s not like the Titans are lighting up the scoreboard. I’m thinking the Browns will be playing from behind, but again, the Browns QB situation just got fugly.
ETA - this is my last offensive position, so any production > no production.

2.
16 team PPR TE-P IDP
Hunter Henry of Rhamondre Stevenson @ BUF

Another game where I feel like the Pats will be playing from behind. But with RS I can get some receptions and hope for a short TD. Henry isn’t exactly lighting it up lately, so despite TE-P, I’m leaning RS.

Please, wise and knowing FBG - share with me your sage advice.

Standard league Need one:

Kincaid vs NE
Strange vs LV
Freiermuth vs Bal
Hunter henry vs Buf
Ertz vs Phi?
I could try to make the argument for Freiermuth but, after last week I think I would have to go with Strange.

Right?
Yes but I have Barkley and bijan and have scored the most points in the league so I was thinking Freiermuth for his safer floor?? thoughts? Note , I have Njoku but just looking for back up plan in case he doesn't go and not sure about new QB in Clev?
Muth is a fine option in a good matchup. He would definitely be my next choice. But six targets in a game you're trailing from start to finish,. without your #1 wr is concerning for me. He seems more TD dependent than Strange, IMO.
Pittsburgh had a grand total of 11 offensive plays in the second half. 2 drives.

.5 PPR 10 pt underdog

Tee Higgins vs Cleveland
Or
Jameson Williams at Chicago

Am I crazy for considering Williams? Higgins sitting out practice scares me.

Asking for a friend. How do we feel about Mahomes vs Houston? He hasn’t exactly lit things up this year and he’s hurt but playing.
His other option is Mason Rudolph vs Indy.

Similar question with Tyreek hill vs SF. options are Meyers vs Jax or Travis Kelce vs Houston as flex.

.5 PPR 10 pt underdog

Tee Higgins vs Cleveland
Or
Jameson Williams at Chicago

Am I crazy for considering Williams? Higgins sitting out practice scares me.
I don't have him on any of my teams but isn't Higgins kind of always missing practice or being limited? Unless you hear something really negative. I just think his additional volume and nose for the end zone plus a decent matchup seems like the better play to me.

1 PPR for WR, 1.5 PPR for TE

I can understand not wanting to start two Packers. And I think your options for replacement are very similar to the guys you have in there. I prefer Reed as a big play threat over Downs, Love is just a better passing QB even if he doesn't deliver the volume that we were all hoping for. But I think Ferguson probably gets more volume than Kraft. Tampa Bay is also a much better matchup on pretty much every level than New Orleans at the moment.

Sigh

I think I agree that you have to play the matchup. Indy is a decent matchup but Cincinnati has been a must start against defense. I am not optimistic for either player but, I think it is reasonable to hope DTR locks in on Jeudy.

I like Henry's volume but I'd still go with Rhamondre. He is a three down back so I don't expect him to leave the field when the score is out of hand.

Not a fan of Mahnomes in fantasy but I'd start him over Mason Rudolph because it's Mason Rudolph.

Kelce has solid TD potential and Meyers should see very good volume if O'Connell starts. If it is PPR I would consider Myers. That being said, personally I'm not benching Tyreek.

Mooney vs NYG
or
Worthy vs HOU

Half PPR. Leaning towards Worthy after last week.
I can see going with Worthy as his usage has ramped up over the last month. Bijan could run 40 times this week against the Giants.
That's kind of what I was thinking. Their roles have reversed in the last month. Worthy is seemingly now more consistent, while Mooney can disappear like he did last week.

0.5 PPR, I need 1 WR and 1 flex:
  • DeVonta Smith vs. Commanders
  • Jakobi Meyers vs. Jaguars
  • Pacheco vs. Texans
  • Patrick Taylor vs. Dolphins

.04 per rushing yard / .03 per rec yard / .50 per reception / TD 6 points
Tank Bigsby @ Raiders OR Zach Charbonnet vs Vikings

Ok let's post this in the right thread:

PPR League. Need two of three:

* B. Hall vs LAR -- Hall off the injury report, but so is I. Davis. B. Allen is questionable and looks like he could be active as well. Does Hall get more touches this week? Are the Jets actually starting to roll...now?

* T. Spears @Indy -- Let's assume that Pollard is out (otherwise I'm not considering). Was impressive last week with Pollard banged up. Not sure who would even get touches out of the backfield besides Spears. Can be explosive especially as a pass catcher. INDY D was sneaky good last week against DEN.

* T. Hill vs SF -- Can't believe this is even a question, but Hill was MIA last week and this week SF is no joke against WRs. On the flip side, Waddle is doubtful and probably out. Could see more targets, but this looks to be a tough matchup. We could see more dump offs to Achane and Jonnu. And oh, Hill now questionable with his wrist issue after being limited Friday.

Which 2?

Thanks

Let's play "Set @fatness lineup". There is no prize but you probably get to laugh at my choices on Monday so you've got that going for you, which is nice.
0.5 PPR

QB
Purdy at Miami
Love vs. New Orleans
(or I could pick up one of
Richardson vs. Tennessee
C. Williams vs. Detroit
Rodgers vs. Las Vegas
Penix vs. NY Giants
Rush vs. Tampa Bay)

RB (2)
Mixon at Kansas City
R. White at Dallas
Hubbard vs. Arizona
Pacheco vs. Houston
J. Ford at Cincinnati

WR (2)
B. Thomas at Las Vegas
Evans at Dallas
Jeudy at Cincinnati
J. Meyers vs. Jacksonville
Addison at Seattle

Flex (1)
one of the RB's or WR's above

I'll set my lineup tonight. Tomorrow I'll check FBG gameday stuff, then check latest NFL news, then I'll
check this thread since I've probably thought myself into several corners by then. Thank you, next drink is on me.

IDP big play scoring. Sacks are super valuable. Tackles help.

Pick 1
Dante Fowler Vs. PHI
Dorence Armstrong Vs. PHI
Kayvon Thibodeaux At ATL
Gross-Matos At MIA
😬

Anyone else taking a swing on Likely?

Diante dropped, Aghalor out, Bateman in. A walking boot and questionable.

This might be one of his boom weeks :fingers crossed:

Standard scoring. Flex one….Ford @ cincy. Tracy @ atl. McMillan @ dal. Was leaning Ford. Now that Otten won’t play, does that create more opportunities in a good offense vs Ford and Tracy who will both be lead backs for teams with backup quarterbacks that may not even be able to move the ball?

.5 PPR, .1 per yard, 6 pts per TD

Tough Flex spot here. I’m leaning towards Dell

Tank Dell , Jaylen Warren or Craig Reynolds

Purdy - Jacobs has cut into Love's production
RBs are tough - Mixon concerns me, go with Hubbard and ford
WRs - B Thomas, Evans
Flex Addison

FBG Bowl, need upside as I'm in 80th place or so.

Starters

Gibbs/Jones/Nabers/Wilson/Kittle

Pick 3

My current choices

Dowdle vs TB - Don't see a compelling reason not to start him.
Jameson @ Chicago - Been waiting all months for another huge game. Lions have to be pissed after getting rolled by Buffalo. Money out.
McMillian @ Dallas - Been hot, Otton out.

Ford @ Cinny - This is who FBG says to start. Guy has been a huge disappointed when he's the lead dog.
Watson vs NO - FBG has him higher than McMillain, doesn't get much volume. Monday night bullet
MVS, Chards, Mostert - Not really considering
