"DirecTV Now: everything you want to know"I see DirecTV Now is live. I want to be able to see their channel listing and make sure I can have access to local channels before I sign up for anything. Anyone have that info?
Literally just got done reading this before I cam back in here haha"DirecTV Now: everything you want to know"

It's going to be quite a bit more buffered. I would sayCan anybody tell me what kind of delay the streaming services have? Is it a few seconds, 30seconds? If you have OTA ABC on one TV and streaming ABC on another what's the time difference? Just curious.
I'm in the same boat, although only for sports programs. PSVue has a function that saves programs for later viewing, essentially on demand, but it doesn't provide this functionality - meaning, as far as I know I can't watch a game "delayed" 30-60 minutes while its still on live. Also, in some cases, it won't allow fast forwarding through commercials, which is annoying and largely defeats the purpose.I miss DVR ing sports. Nothing like sitting down into a game an hour late and still catching the whole game.
What's the Mbps for the two internet speeds? So right now, I'm paying $83 for DTV and $54 for my Internet, so $137 total. To get DTV Now, it would be $35. But then, I'll probably need to upgrade my internet speed to the fastest they have, which would run me $70. And then since there is no CBS and my wife watches a bunch of CBS shows, I'll need CBS All-Access for $6. I end up saving about $26/month. However, I lose DVR by switching to DTV Now and with kids, I will need more than 2 streams at a time. So is the $26/month in savings worth losing out on DVR and being able to only stream 2 things at once?
One I have now is 35/Mbps and the upgraded one is 105/MbpsWhat's the Mbps for the two internet speeds?
Did that article say you need over 35?One I have now is 35/Mbps and the upgraded one is 105/Mbps
I use PSVue and seem to run about a full minute behind on sports. I've had a lot of plays "ruined" by text messages and twitter this football season. It's going to be quite a bit more buffered. I would say
OTA +7s
Cable +9s
Sat +14s
Stream +25s
This is from having different options going at different times in the house including in some cases local radio. Stream can buffer really badly, and can vary alot. coming out of commercial it is closer to the action and slowly buffers between breaks.
You might find that 35 is plenty, and DTVN is supposed to be working on DVR capability for 2017.One I have now is 35/Mbps and the upgraded one is 105/Mbps
If your internet is slow and you buffer alot you will certainly continue to fall behind further. Most streams have break points where they catch you up. ESPN does this by injecting an awful PSA about how fat kids need love too. If you stream enough ESPN you know what I'm talking about. They've been running this break buffer since early summer and I'm about to start hunting down fat kids.I use PSVue and seem to run about a full minute behind on sports. No, but I'm guessing if I'm going to be constantly streaming content, it's probably safer to beef up my internet speed?Did that article say you need over 35?
My deal with DTV is only a 12-month deal. I call them every year to try and get a better price, currently I'm getting $50 off/month. My internet price has been the same for 3 years. You might find that 35 is plenty, and DTVN is supposed to be working on DVR capability for 2017.
Does your $137 include equipment fees, taxes or a second year of contract where they double the price?
Yeah, you couldn't pay me an extra $26/mo to have to put up with that phone call every year. No, but I'm guessing if I'm going to be constantly streaming content, it's probably safer to beef up my internet speed?

I haven't had the difficulties others have had I guess with that. I've done it the last 2 years and never had any problems.Yeah, you couldn't pay me an extra $26/mo to have to put up with that phone call every year.
It's the principle.I haven't had the difficulties others have had I guess with that. I've done it the last 2 years and never had any problems.
Lol it is a pain in the ###. But, is the extra $26/month I'm paying worth having DVR and being able to watch TV on more than 2 screens? I think so.It's the principle.
Only able to watch on my phone but so far the quality is excellent.East Coast Bias said:Went ahead and signed up for 3 months of DirecTV Now. Apple TV said 2-3 weeks for delivery. I don't have any other devices that will work with it so maybe I'll grab an Apple TV on the way home to test it out.
I've been without cable for at least 3 years so I may not even want it back. I'll give myself three months to decide.
what speed internet are you using? curious im about to cancel cable and will renegotiate with Comcast on internetI cut the cable about a month and a half ago. Other than some complaints about poor OTA signal when it rains, it's been going fine. I use a Roku and have Netflix and Amazon for watching shows. I barely have enough time between kids going to sleep and my bedtime for an hour of tv per night anyway, so paying that much for cable was dumb.
Kodi has helped a lot trying to watch live sports. Better selection there than anywhere else. However, I wish I knew the best places for streams and best build for Kodi. I watch European football and find myself using rojadirecta though sportsdevil. I have to think there's better streams than that though.
Tips?
Titanium has been a popular build with the thread. Live sports streams probably won't get much better than you're seeing. Kodi excels at previously recorded movies and tv, not so much live.I cut the cable about a month and a half ago. Other than some complaints about poor OTA signal when it rains, it's been going fine. So what's the pay for that? Use Sling or another pay service? I have really enjoyed the crazy selection of games available though. No traditional service could touch that IMO.Titanium has been a popular build with the thread. Live sports streams probably won't get much better than you're seeing. Sorry not familiar enough with European football specifically. So what's the pay for that? Use Sling or another pay service? I have really enjoyed the crazy selection of games available though. No traditional service could touch that IMO.
It's #### like this that makes me hate them. I don't like to play games with my services or pricing and I don't want to renegotiate all the freaking time.contract just ended with Comcast. bill went from 150 to 241
kept the same internet 100mbps and 45+ channels for 49.99
waiting for them to call tomm. then ill say fios is offering a better deal and try to get a $300 visa card thrown inIt's #### like this that makes me hate them. I don't like to play games with my services or pricing and I don't want to renegotiate all the freaking time.
I pay $35/mo for a PSVue package that includes NBCSN, BeIn, FoxSports and ESPN. That gives me all the soccer I can handle. Vue has a save function and provides access to the NBC Live app so I don't have to watch live. My kids have found all the stuff they want, so its working well for us for now - supplemented with Netflix. I have an OTA set up, but rarely use it.So what's the pay for that? $65,no cable, 75 Mbps and there isn't a tv show or movie I can't get.I pay $200 a month for cable, internet and phone (yes phone!!) and LOVE EVERY MINUTE OF IT!!!!

I did a quick search, because I am getting ready to use it myself. There's no unlocking involved - go to Youtube, watch a video on how to install Kodi on a Fire Stick (I recommend one that uses ES Explorer), then watch another on how to install Titanium.Has anybody unlocked a fire stick? My buddy has ordered a few off of this site, Mystuff.vegas/categories/kodi-stuff/648826
I already have a fire stick, is it pretty easy to do myself?
As tick said the amazon devices are open to third party apps and developers. All you have to is find the settings and change them to allow. Let us know if you get stuck along the way and we will guide you through it.Has anybody unlocked a fire stick? My buddy has ordered a few off of this site, Mystuff.vegas/categories/kodi-stuff/648826

VPN and SmoothStreams TV via Kodi @ $30/quarter for me. It's a private streaming service, not a sporting event out there that's televised somewhere on earth that I can't watch in at least 540p/720p for major College games and all pro games and PPV fights with just about 0 buffer. I do that on Comcast pipes, it's the biggest :finger: that I can give to them. It's #### like this that makes me hate them. I would. its really easy. I use PIA. Just download the app and side load it onto the firestick.I got Kodi on it! How do I watch the UFC? Do I need to put a VPN on it?
