guys like me and @AhrnCityPahnder have just let them grow in to full beards. no problems.

are guys still doing to Jason Priestly burns?

does the fade eliminate the awkwardness of having a full head of hair but no sideburns?

are we letting them go au natural.. whatever direction they want to take, just roll with it?

No lie, I almost started this thread 2 days ago. 

 
a) beard is indeed the only answer

b) I had sideburns once...once

c) Did we really get a Jason Priestley reference on this board? 

d) I guess if you're Jason Priestley, we can wear sideburns. Other than that...a little like otb_lifer kind of implied - you're gonna look like Lemmy.  

e) Unless you're Lemmy, don't look like him.

i dig the look - i pair it with a shiny black pomp, or i totally slick it back (like DeNiro in GF II) - works for me  :shrug:

I was being light-hearted. I'm sure it does. It worked for me back in the day. These days, not so much. 

I had a full-on pair of muttons. And black Ray-Bans. 

In the nineties, though, when they thought black frames were radical. Had to go get 'em punched out of their frames and install the lenses manually. Good stuff. Cost a pretty penny back then, now black frames are standard and don't cost a cent, just like in the '50s.

always wanted to try the porn 'stache look - clean shaven, except for that. problem is it takes forever to come in, while the 'burns sprout like weeds. 

maybe even a handlebar - that would work w/the chops, sort of an homage to the Civil War .... or the 70s Oakland A's, if one prefers.

 
I noticed a lot of movie stars with sideburns, so I started growing mine.  By the time I had them where I wanted them, I noticed a lot of stars taking theirs off.

I always seem behind the curve...

No. Neatly trimmed and shorter

 
The scraggly-assed untrammeled beard is so friggin homeless looking. Not sure why guys do it, maybe it's just my IT echo chamber, but it's a terrible look.

probably a bad sample to work off of

lots of guys seem either afraid to have a barber trim theirs or think that having a beard means letting it go feral :shrug:
