What are you offering for Larry Johnson (1 Viewer)

anyone targeting LJ in a trade should wait until after week 5. he has a brutal schedule coming up:@ CHIvs. MIN@ SDvs. JAXabsolutely brutal. After that it's pretty much smooth sailing. You should be able to get LJ for a bag of balls at that point.
Do you think the LJ owners don't know his sch.???? If going to trade him it's now.
The majority of LJ owners don't know his schedule. The majority of FF owners can't tell you who their guy is playing THIS week. The kind of people who at 10 am on a Wednesday morning are on an FF message board are an upper level tiny minority amongst from the pool of everyone who plays FF.

I'm going after LJ in all leagues after the game in San Diego. The Jags run D did not impress week 1. But the guy who drafted LJ with his first pick is probably furious at this point and should be fighting to get into the playoffs. With JAX, then OAK, then a bye, the outlook isn't great and LJ should be at his lowest value IMO.

This single post needs to be quoted about 20 times a day. Great job, GR.Nothing could be more true. We're in our own little universe here. I think more of us need to think about how the "average FF owner" thinks. That's one of the main keys to winning local leagues.

You really might want to check what LJ does against San Diego in the past few games, I can tell you that he shreds them if that helps.

Well that settles it. I am offering Musa Smith, Devrey Henderson, Michael Pittman and Greg Olson for LJ. I'll just stache him on my bench until his schedule eases up and it's off to the championship I go.
:update:The LJ owner turned this deal down.

I'm going to throw in Jason Hanson and offer it again.
you're insane for thinking that trade has even has a slight chance
sarcasm detector down?
Yes. I AM the LJ owner, and not too concerned. He had 10 carries for 43 and 7 catches for 44 in a game he was "partially" used. I don't see a great game from him next week either, but I'm not considering trading him for some of the rediculous suggestions I've seen posted in this thread.

On point - value of LJ = top-flight WR plus a solid starting RB who is emergingnow

IOW, If someone offered me Portis plus SSmith/Holt/CJ, etc., I'd think hard about it and probably take it.

Anything less and I am better off holding on - I think LJ still gets me 1400 rush yards and 14-18 TDs this year and willput up top-5 RB numbers (though I also believe he will struggle to find the EZ over the next few weeks and my record could suffer).

so what's your point,,,that should have been declined PRIOR to week #4.Nice draft though, good job,,,see you in the assistant coaches forum where we can all pimp our teams.cheers!!!

redraft - I offered Plaxico and Benson for LJ - geared towards a TD only scoring with few bonus perks for yardage. Plaxico has been GREAT in this league, but you gotta make some risky moves and right now, LJ has a perk of potential compared to the first 3 games ...... he might do well in games 5-14

WTF

Before the season started I was able to trade LJ for Addai and a 3rd round pick which turned into Fitzgerald.

I am now being charged with rape.

Traded Foster and Curry for him last week...

the guy cut Santonio Holmes to make room on his roster for Curry...

I picked him up...

so essentially - Foster/Curry for Johnson/Holmes

yes i felt bad after this week... i'm not cut out for this brutally uneven trading

was the guy smoking crack while he accepted your offer? That's gotta be one of the worst I've seen in a long time...

he's known for cutting players who are underperforming (no matter where he drafted them).... i know how he thinks, having played with him for over 7 years...Curry was coming off a great game (actually 2 great games in 3 weeks)Foster was coming off a 100 yd game...I wrote him about 3 paragraphs on why he should do the trade...guess i convinced him... but now his team looks like crap and i feel bad because i didn't even really need johnsoni also traded Boldin and L. Jordan for Terrell Owens and B. Berrian last week (big trade week for me) and am feeling bad about that trade too, because that guys team also looks terrible now...i don't have it in me to do anymore trades like this...

Just out of curiousity, where has he ranked in your league each of those 7 years?

we only started using fanball in 03, so the record books only goes back that far:03: 4-10 (ranked 10 out of 12)04: 1-13 (ranked 12 out of 12)05: 13-1 (ranked 1 out of 12 - he had Tom Brady, Larry Johnson, Shaun Alexander, Mike Anderson, Boldin)06: 3-11 (ranked 11 out of 12)07: 1-3 so far

I just offered alexander and fitzgerald. I've got Cotchery, Plax,Curry and Jennings. So giving up Fitz isn't a big deal in my eyes. i doubt he'll go for it, but it's the 1st offer. Maybe Henry instead of SA. I think LJ will start to come on soon.

Just went for Jason Campbell and a first round pick next year (plus some junk on either side) in my league. I wasn't involved in the trade, but I thought this was fair. The commish doesn't seem to think so.

Thinking of offering up Holt and KJones. The LJ owner is in deadlast with injuries everywhere. May throw in Pittman just because they have no RB depth.

Just offered Jordan straight up. Just to gauge how the other owner values LJ.
WOW if I owned LJ I would tell you your crazy. What a terrible offer
Did you not read the 2nd sentence of my post?
We can read, Honestly if i got a "guage" offer like that I'd pretty much make up my mind right there that you are not getting LJ. Insulting people to guage offers may work, just not on me and quite a few people I know don't like getting insulted for others to guage offers. I'd likely send you a note back something like "Hey, nice offer, I will be keeping LJ, have fun with your injured RBBC Jordan. Seriously are we playing in a yahoo league, was that offer to see if I was a guppie, don't bother sending me any more offers, good luck this season".

I just offered Brandon Jacobs and Matt Schaub for Bulger and LJ ---

The LJ owner is a huge Texans homer (with season tickets) and is also 0-4 and she's probably pretty discouraged about her season at this point. Hoping to catch her in a moment of non-clarity and irrational thought about her team. Her other QB is Rivers.

I have Jamal Lewis and Edge as my RB1 and RB2, so really need a third body. Also, with Brady at QB, I need to move Schaub because they have the same Week 10 bye week.

Get a grip, dude.He already expressed his displeasure with LJ and willingness to trade him for the right deal. I made an initial offer to see what he wants. Better than to offer too much right away and have him take it.

And no, not a guppie league. First price is $600 with 12 very competitive people.

I just offered Derrick Ward and LaMont Jordan to the LJ owner who just expressed his dis-satisfaction with LJ. Oddly enough he also has Jacobs and Rhodes.

I just traded Jason Campbell, Adrian Peterson (the good one) and the Ravens D/ST for Donovan McNabb, Larry Johnson and the Bears D/ST. The owner is 0-8 after four weeks and looking to get keepers while not completely giving up on this year. I am 6-2 and think LJ is taking off, plus D-Mac gives me a QB tandem with Eli that should help improve my starting lineup. I thought it was a relatively fair trade when you consider LJ is not a keeper for next year in our league and AP is (along with the other two elements of the trade).

Why is LJ not a keeper next year?

2 qb / 5 keeper / .5ppr

Offered Maroney, Coles, Rivers for LJ, Ward.

Didn't happen due to Maroney not playing last night. Probably could have done it Monday morning.

PPR league and just traded Bush for LJ.

Still have real concerns about NO offense/coaching and KC seems to be a much better team than they showed the first 2 weeks. Defense is playing well and the offense is showing some signs of life. The passing game with Bowe (and Kennison's return) will help open things up for LJ. The carries/yards are coming and the TDs will follow shortly. Perfect buying time for LJ and was able to take advantage of a Saints fan.

Keeper league, lose a pick 2 rounds ahead of where they were taken this year to keep next year (FA pickups are automatic rd 10 keepers)

I traded Laurence Maroney (would be a 2nd rd keeper in 2008) and Sammy Morris (rd 10 keeper in 08)

for

Larry Johnson (unkeepable #3 overall pick).

I had the depth at RB (Gore, L White, F Taylor) and enough WR in case of real disaster for my flex (Fitz, Holt, Galloway, Welker)

I think it is a good deal for me this year, but could see Maroney being a good keeper next year.

I offered Romo and Kevin Jones for LJ and McNabb. The owner of LJ told me I was crazy and would never get anyone to "break the bank" on an unproven QB who has only been hot for 4 weeks.

He countered with Steve Smith and Brian Leonard for Roy Williams and Tony Romo.

I have a feeling this guy is big time on the LJ bandwagon.

I have Romo and LJ, and I think LJ will turn it around, but you should tell this guy to eff himself if he thinks you are crazy for "breaking the bank" on the number one qb in fantasy football. And to counter with Steve Smith and Brian Leonard for Roy Williams and Tony Romo is laughable. I like Larry Johnson's value for the rest of the season, but LJ is not worth snagging from that owner if he values him that highly.

I offered FWP for LJ straight - guy said he would consider it and get back ...not feeling too confident. I still love FWP - just love LJ more.

As an LJ owner, I would take this.
Just did this trade today. I gave FWP and Vince Young for LJ. Honestly, these RBs may end up with similar FF points by year's end, but LJ has shown he is a workhorse, with more upside imo. KC may suprise (they already did this week) with a good Def and D.Bowe taking some of the pressure off the running game.
