What are you offering for Larry Johnson (1 Viewer)

I offered FWP for LJ straight - guy said he would consider it and get back ...not feeling too confident. I still love FWP - just love LJ more.
As an LJ owner, I would take this.
Owners are fickle. 2 weeks ago, not a single FWP owner on this board said they would trade him for LJ straight up. FWP puts up one of his usual stinkers on the road, LJ and the Chiefs show that armageddon is not near in KC and now the roles are exactly reversed.

I just offerred: L Jordan, H Ward, & C Pep to get: LJ and Housh.....I don't want any part of the RB situation in Oakland, especially with Culpepper running them all in....but...who knows how C-Pep will do from now on....I'd rather ditch them all and get guys I know will produce pretty consistently for the rest of the year....I doubt he will take it, though...one of those guys who never answers your trade offers....

I wouldn't answer that trade offer either.

Well, the guy is 1-3 and I thought he might take a chance that Culpepper continues his plethora of tds, Jordan is back after the bye, and H Ward is almost ready to come back....is it really that bad?

I offered Edge and James Jones for LJ and Cotchery. This was before last week's turnaround for KC. The owner scorned me with derision. He offered TJ Duckett and Rivers for SJAX and Tom Brady.

So, I guess he's not going to trade. I hate guys like that. I think Cotchery for Jones was a stretch, but it wasn't an insult. And given that LJ was averaging about 9 fpg while Edge was at 15 I thought it was relatively fair, if short-sighted.

Yes and you know it is. 9 of 10 offers I get are like this. You point out the weaknesses in the offer and the sender plays dumb.

You hate guys like that? You offered a lesser RB and a lesser WR for a better RB and a better WR.Terrible offer.

Pretty sure I would have reacted the same.If you want a top player don't go offering crap and then be surprised when they respond with crap offers in return.

Agree 100%.The trend at FBG is if you offer craptastic offers where a player is underperforming, you take a piece of crap that is overperforming and offer the craptastic player for the underperformer (who the whole universe knows will get better) and feel like a "Shark", like you "Have one up on the big dummies in your league" and then get pissed when people don't want crap players like Lamont Jordan (overperforming, now hurt and RBBC on the horizon) and all they have to give you is LJ (underperfomer who just woke up and has ability to put up 20 TDS). This is too common. It's not a "shark" move, it's just a way to piss off and irritate your competition, keep it up and nobody in your league will want to deal with you at all. :whoosh:

I'm always insulted when people offer me an injured player. In this case, you offered 2 injured players...what a terrible offer.

Ok Ok - it was a bad offer, but sometimes desperate times call for desperate measures.....the winner in our league usually has never had more than 2 losses, so he really doesn't have anything to lose by taking a chance that those 3 guys outplay the 2 I get.....and far be it from me to not give him that opportunity :football:

Condolences? I am 4-0 with him. You will learn that your 1st pick isn't where you win your drafts, newb.Nice contribution.
I am 4-0 without him.Isn't calling someone a newb considered extremely lame? Honestly, the first thing that I think of when someone on the internet calls another person a newb... is that the person using the term "newb" has got to be a soft little p-u-s-s-y in real life. Learn how to take a joke, and get over yourself.
I think I struck a nerve.

I've learned that if you go in with a fair offer, that is mutually beneficial, other owners tend to deal with you more. Most owners don't want to deal with someone that opens trade talks with injured players...not good form. Just my opinion.

Take care, newb.

Back to the subject at hand:

I offered Derek Anderson (#3 scoring QB in our league) and M. Lynch (#10 scoring RB in our league) for Larry Johnson. The owner with LJ has Bulger and Griese as his only two QB's and there's not much on the waiver wire (Edwards/Boller/Frerotte are the best options).

The owner responded with, "I've got much better offers on the table". I replied, "good luck".

EDIT to add: 12-man redraft.

Nope, sorry. Obviously you take message boards, and internet personas a lot more seriously than I do. Anyways... off of my jock now, and continue to pick out other peoples posts, cry about what they say, and call them newbs... it's obviously taking your life to amazing heights.

Was just offered Torry Holt, DeAngelo Williams and D. Ward for Larry Johnson and Lamont Jordan. Don't think I am going to take that one.

I agree... that was an awful offer. Holt is going through rough times in SL. Derrick Ward is about to take the back seat, and no touchdowns. DeAngelo Williams is taking a back seat to Foster.... all bad situations. With LJ you always have the chance for a great game, and a great season. Jordan is off to a great start, of course... there are injury concerns, and Rhodes coming back to deal with. However, I wouldn't even trade LJ himself for those guys, let alone with Jordan in there as well.

Keep getting offered FWP or Henry along with some garbage players for LJ, SS or Holt, Mcnabb and my first.

The mighty have fallen. :goodposting:

You didn't really think somebody would bite at that crappy offer did you? That is pretty laughable if you ask me..

Yes, it is. I just vomitted in my mouth a little.

FYI, if you offer more players than you are asking for, the other owner has to drop that extra amount of players. So these 2 or 3 players for LJ also have to include who he is going to drop(and by the looks of some of the offers, it is probably the players being offered).

People aren't going to trade a proven non-rbbc back with top potential and easier schedule for some fluke fast starters. Maybe some of these fast starters keep up good production, but I wouldn't be betting LJ to find out.

I got LJ for Ronnie Brown and my first round pick next year. I offered my 2nd, but he countered with the first and I wanted the deal done, so I took it. My team is already very young and I plan on finishing towards the top of the league this year. LJ should be the last piece to my long term dynasty squad for a while (barring injuries, of course).

Here's what is extremely lame. Monkeysee and OUKurt are the same person, calling out Newb--in different posts. Give me a break. Crazy as this sounds on a fantasy football forum....please...get a life. Both of you--er, I mean, just you. Dont bother with the flames or the PM's...you are outed. Other posters..you have been warned. Engage with this windbag(s) at your own risk.

I was about to get a deal done in my 10 team dynasty- LJ for Torry Holt, Kevin Jones, and my 2nd Rd Rookie pick....the other owner has Henry though so he is obviously no longer interested.

I just finished a deal for LJ, so I thought I would add it:

Gave:

Gore

Maroney

Got:

LJ

Boldin

Another owner had Morris, and I wanted to trade Maroney before his value went lower. It started as an offer of Maroney for Boldin straight up, but then the other owner countered with this offer and I jumped on it. I was a little weak at receiver, so I was happy to pick up Boldin (I also have Westbrook).

J,For the record, the #### in my post above is c-r-u-d. Just FYI.Sincerely,Keys

For those of you using Cbssportsline, just FYI that there is a useful feature on each player's page that shows all recent trades involving that player. For someone like Larry Johnson, you will often see dozens or even hundreds of trades executed in the past week. Its a pretty good way to determine current market value.

I would think Larry has returned to his preseason value. Good luck trying to pry him free. You'll get players like Westbrook, Parker, and SJax much much much cheaper.

People that drafted him love him. I traded for him in Week 3 and there aren't many people that I would give him up for.

^bump^

Checking to see how the market value of LJ is going. Last week was BRUTAL for LJ. JAX has a nice run D, but 12 yds? Fugly...

Was offered this LJ deal today.

Give Portis/Ahman/Plax

Get LJ/F Taylor/Marvin

LJ/Portis would be my RB2 behind LT, so I can get a little creative. Ahman is already dealing w/ knee problems, Plax is performing well w/ the ankle. Sounds crazy, but I think I'll pass on this one. Especially w/ Harrison dinged and underperforming so far.

Countering possibly w/

Give Portis/C Chambers

Get LJ/Bowe

I just offered Rudi and Kevin Curtis, he's thinking about it. I'm considering offering a bit more as this might be my last chance at him with KC at home against the Bengals this week.

his counter:

i'm offering julius jones, matt schaub plus 2008 1st rounder plus 2009 1st rounder

for

LJ, brady and 2008 5th rounder plus 2009 5th rounder
