What are your New Year's Eve plans? (1 Viewer)

Neither of my daughters are home this year and I have to work all day today and tomorrow.

My wife and I will probably have a couple cocktails and be in bed by 10:30.

Heading out around noon time to hit the lake and some ice fishing.  Brother in law and the boy toys of my 2 daughters.  We'll be drinking all day.  Unlikely to see midnight.

Just got a text from the state

AlertsMA COVID19: Over half of MA is now high risk for COVID-19. Resolve to not be a super spreader on New Year's Eve. Don't go out and party, stay home

We usually dont go out, but this year we feel like we wanna give the finger to 2020 and have a good time. Got a Hotel room in Ybor City. Gonna have dinner and drinks and then a NYE party at a dueling piano bar. We will stumble back to the hotel at the end of the night.

Suck it, 2020!

Nice. I'm in Brandon, right off I-75 by 60. :hifive:
Don't know if you heard that Four Stacks is closing 1/10 for good. I am stopping by there (Apollo Beach location) to get a couple of crowlers and leave a real big tip later this afternoon.

Simple stuff...tacos with the kids.  Son trying to get to see his girlfriend but she works til pretty late and with my wife not here its hard getting him back and forth late and having to have my daughter out late as well as she does not like staying home alone for very long and especially not when its late and dark.

Kind of a down holidays here with the health of my in-laws...wife away helping care for her parents as we got some bad news on her dad (and her mom fell and broke her knee cap right before Christmas).

Been a sort of 2020 type end to the year of not going to see my family for Christmas being smart...her mom falling...her dad getting bad news...explosion in Nashville and just all the stress and crap of it.

I didnt hear. Tampa beer Works right by me is closing too, tonight is their last night.

Have you checked out Alafaia Brewing on 41 in Gibsonton yet? I have that place, Bastet (right by Coppertail), and Double Branch (Wesley Chapel) on my list of new breweries to visit.

Heading up north a little bit for some socially-distanced beach time with my parents. Will get home late afternoon, maybe take a nap.

Throw some steaks and shrimp on the grill. Drink the $500 bottle of champagne my sister gave to us a month or so ago.

Go to sleep.

I have not been to Alafia yet. Still haven't gotten to Magnanimous yet either. I've heard good things about Double Branch and I know nothing about Bastet, but I will check them out.

Watch some of the celebrations from around the world this afternoon.  Watched the celebration from Brisbane AU this morning, not inspiring to what the others will have without people.

Zero plans.  Better think of something.  Just me and Mrs. Smails.  Not going anywhere.  I think I will support a couple of live stream events.  Maybe one music and one comedy (Comedy Cellar in NYC is doing one).  Have a few drinks but nothing over the top.  Not sure about dinner.  Usually NYE is crab legs from Costco.  Need to do some shopping.  Maybe have a good cigar.

When our daughter was little, she thought fondue on NYE was the height of sophistication so we're bringing the gooey cheese back because she's stuck here with us this year.
We’re also doing the fondue thing and watching movies with my boys.

Will flip over to Ryan Seacrest (and lament the loss of **** Clark as with every year) right before midnight.

Sitting here after our annual meat and cheese /adult-sized lunchable table.

Its 8:15 PM and I may be sleeping by 9:00.

Youngest (14) is at her BFs house, I get to pick her up at 1AM. Yay, no drinking for me.

Oldest daughter (16,) is in shambles because she can’t see her boyfriend cause his parents said no to coming over and staying late.

Wife is two sheets to the wind and still a mess cause her mother died 3 years ago yesterday.

SO MUCH FUN IM HAVING!!!

Made stuffed shrooms(sausage and cream cheese) and venison meatballs(from the doe I harvested) in grape jelly and chili sauce....da bomb yo!!  Drinking 10 barrell ipa's .......F 2020 bring on 2021!!

Stayed home with wife and son(15). Had raclette for dinner, played some cribbage, watched some old Michael Jackson and Prince concerts. Counted down in the back yard and toasted over the fence with the neighbors as we watched the fire works from local yahoos go off in the sky.

Stayed in, chilled out, got texts from people and spent time with the part of family I go maskless around because we live together anyway.

Iron Man 1 & 2 watched with the 11 year old. In between rewatching Fringe with the 16 year old.

Happy New Year!

My new year's eve sucked balls the entire day. I won't get into all the details but a truly bad year really bottomed out yesterday. This morning we woke to snow. It's not much just a little coating on the grass but we don't get much snow here, sometimes 5 years between snows. It feels like a 2021 miracle. May we all have better 2021s as we recover from the horrible hangover 2020 has left us all. Antibiotics are still in my system so I'm toasting all you guys with my morning airborne, HAPPY NEW YEAR ladies and gentlemen!

Had a blast in Ybor. Early dinner at the Columbian, beers at TBBC patio bar, lots more beer at dueling piano bar, rang in the new year, walked to the hotel around 12:30, the girlfriend passed out, about a half hour later I was hungry so I walked 2 blocks and grabbed a monster slice at New York New York pizza, walked back to the hotel and crashed for the night.

Watched a documentary last night about the Korean War on Amazon. "American Experience: The Battle of Chosin."

Pretty well done. Chilling.

Watched that and then fell asleep.

Mmmmm...love Columbia.  I've had better Cuban food there than in Havana.

Don't know what we're going to watch but it's gotta be better than WW84 :bag:
We did fondue last night as well.
