What condiments for a turkey & swiss sandwich? (1 Viewer)

Doctor Detroit said:
I like turkey with mustard.

Then again my people don't eat mayo, so my choices are somewhat limited.
I used to work with a black guy and whenever we would go to lunch he would emphatically stress "no mayo" when ever he ordered a sandwich

Always got a lemonade too

I know it's a small sample size but my research definately supports Dr D's statement

None is the proper answer. Don't dilute the goodness of turkey and swiss by drowning it in inferior condiments.

The bagel place by my office used to do some kind of vinaigrette on their turkey and swiss. Put that on a bagel and it's amazing.

Agree that mayo is the devil's condiment.

BTW, is the complete lack of commentary on this particular detail due to the consensus knowledge that swiss cheese sucks?
No

ETA: Emmethaler is Swiss cheese, in France they make a variety called Gruyere which is also good. Your problem is that you buy some industrial product labeled 'swiss cheese' and believe that it is actually both swiss and cheese when likely it is neither

No, that wouldn't be my problem at all.

But tell you what, if the OP actually meant gruyere in his OP I'll say I was wrong.

This has caused great personal torment for years now. Let's settle this.

Mustard goes with cheese, but it's gross combined with turkey.

Mayo goes with turkey, but it's gross combined with cheese.

What are my options here?
Just saw this thread and have not read a response, but the answer is obvious

Lightly toasted sour dough bread with mayo topped with the turkey then the cheese then avocado, bacon and tomato slices and top bread spread again with mayo

You inspired me to order turkey and swiss for lunch today

Had it on whole wheat toast with lettuce, tomato, mayo and roasted peppers

Twas very good

That's a pretty perfect order right there. Might I suggest a pickle and a small bag of Sweet Maui Onion kettle chips on the side next time?

You talkin to me?
First time for everything.
Pickle would have been nice.

Dont get me wrong, those maui onion kettle chips are the bomb, but I am not eating chips.

Usually I only get a small sandwich because I keep a lot of snacks in my office.

Just had a turkey & asiago sandwich on whole wheat with mayo, horseradish, lettuce, and pickles (claussen sandwich slices).

Delicious.
