Right....yeah.....Okay then, we'll just agree to disagree because we obviously aren't talking about the same two things. As I said before, there are plenty of country songs that include the three topics you bring up. Generalizing is bad. With regards to rap, I've not heard many, I guess their called songs, that don't include violence, drugs, or sex.
Doubtful. I find Country annoying, but not so much that I will change the channel. Many people will leave the channel as soon as they hear rap.If they used rap their ratings would be higher.
Was the wardrobe malfunction a "function" of live tv vs. taped performances, or does it become an issue of music genre???Changing your performers doesn't stop the unpredictability of live tv.Like I said before. You have to look no further than the wardrobe malfunction that was such an embarrassment. They said they were going to clean it up and Tim McGraw and Hank Williams are much cleaner and less risky then most other genres. There are actually a lot of white collared folks that like country music too.Pro Football = Blue Collar demographic = Country Music
That's the thinking -- BUT IT IS NOT RIGHT.
(Neither is painting with such a broad brush, BTW)
Its interesting to note that you don't speak about Common and Kanye West.Neither use the sex/drugs angle in their rhymes.Right....yeah.....Okay then, we'll just agree to disagree because we obviously aren't talking about the same two things. As I said before, there are plenty of country songs that include the three topics you bring up. He knows his position has been invalidated, that's why he pulled out the "we aren't talking about the same thing" schtick even though we clearly were.I was going to let it slide, but nice to see someone else noticed. Maybe you can't speak on it because you aren't familiar with their work.
Or maybe you just don't know what you are talking about
Your reference to Cop Killer (by Ice T/Body Count) came out in 1992.
1992 !!!!
And that is one song in a flood of THOUSANDS of rap songs.
Let me put this on your level -- that kind of logic would be akin to you bad mouthing your denomintation because you didn't like one member of the congregation!
It doesn't make sense does it ???!!???
Do any NFL players play better after hearing Country Music?(it was worth a shot)It appears there are mods locking and moving threads in the Shark Pool. Could one of you please justify this thread still being here?
Hey I don't want to turn this into a "who should I buy" thread, but what's the better cd, Clutch's "Blast Tyrant" or Mars Volta "Frances the Mute"? I'll answer yours. It appears there are mods locking and moving threads in the Shark Pool. Could one of you please justify this thread still being here?
This is pretty frustrating to have to keep going in circles like this.#1) I'm don't have the time nor the inclination to start digging through artists, song lyrics, or the like while at work. But I know what I've seen/heard etc. That's enough for me, if it's not enough for you...I'm sorry. Its interesting to note that you don't speak about Common and Kanye West.

The wardrobe malfunction was a function of a former starlet's flaggin career trying to sell albums in my opinion. Maybe they'll get Kayne West to say that the president hates black people again. Was the wardrobe malfunction a "function" of live tv vs. taped performances, or does it become an issue of music genre???Changing your performers doesn't stop the unpredictability of live tv.Like I said before. Not that it is bad thing, I wouldn't mind a Shania Twain wardrobe malfunction !!!
I believe, sales wise, it is one of, if not the, most popular genre currently in the United States of America.
and Bush is the most popular president in the US - doens't make it even remotely good
I've been to a race. I've seen a few in the NASCAR market I'd lke to tap. They're trying to tap the NASCAR market.Statistically speaking though I dont think the overlap between country music fans and NFL fans is very big...
FACT:All NASCAR drivers have tappable wives/girlfriends. Even the scrub stock car drivers at our local tracks in No Cal pull hotties...I've been to a race. I can. From Rascal Flatts to Korn to Tupac.Oh and since this thread came back up; am I the only one who has and enjoys cd's from almost every genre?
Seriously, I listen to a lot of different music and can switch directly from rap to country.....
Clutch. Definately. But Transnational Speedway League is the disc I prefer....Hey I don't want to turn this into a "who should I buy" thread, but what's the better cd, Clutch's "Blast Tyrant" or Mars Volta "Frances the Mute"? Yeah, gotta agree....Mars Volta hasn't done "it" for me yet. Haven't seen them live though.TSL is a great Clutch disc (note my reference to "Monster Trucks" and "B&P" in later post). I really love their old-school stuff ("Far Counry" ) but Blast Tyrant is solid, esp. "Profits of Doom". 'Robot Hive - Exodus' is growing on me each time I listen to it as well ("Mice & Gods", "Land of Pleasant Living")Clutch.
