What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (2 Viewers)

Love Fat Heads
I've heard its great...saw some in Tallahassee Monday but it was bottled in October...pass. The stuff I got today was bottled 2 weeks ago and its really friggin good. Big fan. I had no idea it was in distro in Tampa until today. Will add it to my daily drivers.
I have a good buddy who lives in Pittsburgh and I used to visit him pretty frequently. He was walking distance from that 2nd location Fat Heads. The food there was awesome and the tap list was the best in town. From their own stuff to the guest taps. PGH has gotten better since way back then, but Fat Heads is still special to me. Their IPAs are finally getting recognition and I love it.

I'll throw in a gripe though that I hope they have cleared up by now.... I bought a growler there once and it was a clear glass growler!!!!! AAAAGGGHHHH!!!!

I think I need to go see this friend of mine again soon....

A clear growler? How can a brewery think that is OK? Crazy.

Head Hunter is good stuff man. I wish I would have bought the full 4 pack instead of 2 to try. Should have trusted the ratings. Next time.

I have few clear growlers in my collection. Not that big of deal. Not like your keeping beer in the growler for an extended period of time.

True, but why any brewery would go this route is strange to me.Having a Celebrator. Its nice to revisit, and its a great beer but Not something I'll need to drink for another 5+ years.

Spring Break/Easter vacationing in NoVa, did a session with Three Brothers Drift last night. Here's an IPA (citra forward and so easy drinking) I can get behind. I've been limited to what's available on the west coast (woe is me I know), so what should I be looking for out here? I asked for Heady Topper and was laughed at, so I settled for the local citra session brew. Btw, Wingnut, if I'm reading you right, I think you'd love Drift.

Three Brothers is solid. I like Hardywood for VA the best. Devils Backbone is decent. Lots of Flying Dog (MD) around here too.

Half Acre Senita, Vallejo and Space. Man these guys can brew an IPA. Walked out with 5 growlers and 1 half growler. I killed their Vallejo for the rest of the weekend :lmao:

I do love me some Citra hops

Gearing up for Wisconsin basketball and digging deep into my cellar for some old stouts - central waters barrel aged stuff, a 2010 expedition and a blackout from Great Lakes.

My last Alpine Nelson :kicksrock:
This and Heady Topper are the last two on my list of must haves....so jealous GB.
My top wants include Treehouse Julius, New England Brewing Co Fuzzy Baby Ducks, Surly Abrasive, Lawsons Double Sunshine, and Hill Farmstead's Susan, Abner, and Double Citra.I've got a line on some Julius, might be able to get some next canning. #fingerscrossed

Dad helped. Hard work but I'm into saving $ on stuff I can do myself

When it's back next year, you're getting some GB.

Oof...not a big fan of Belgians.
I like em OK...I thought my taste buds were out of whack from the Nelson...but I tasted this beer before I bought the pre filled crowler, not the same beer. I wonder how many were mislabeled...I still have a PW Citra but was saving it for a bottle share tonight that fell through...which is why I still had the Nelson. Still have a Duet, and am out of locals, so I either have to go pick up something local or drink the Citra or Duet...decisions, decisions...

Citra. Citra. Citra. Oh did I mention Citra?

Got hooked up on BA with 2 dudes in Lakeland that make rotating trips to Cycle/St Pete every month on Mondays ($5 growlers and $6 Crowlers on Mon)...got in the rotation, so I'll be able to get Cycle beers (Crank) a few times a month without leaving Lakeland. I'm gonna propose extending it to other breweries since I'll only have to make one trip a month now.

Whoever is going texts a few days before they're going, and you text your order, and meet em locally after the trip to pick up your order (and have a few beers if so inclined) So awesome.

That's awesome Wing!

So I love PW, still my favorite brewery, but man is Half Acre making a strong push. Never gave them much a thought after having Daisy Cutter but then I had a Senita. Then I had a Space. Then a Vallejo. Strong IPA portfolio.

I've only had the Senita, but damn if it wasn't an excellent beer. Huge fan. Can't wait to try that Vallejo!

Ended up grabbing Senita today too. Love that beer.

I got exposed to NC beer because of that gf in NC...which was the best thing to come from it. Lol. The first few trips I wasn't even looking for local beer because I didn't get back into craft til last summer...then I realized NoDa, Wicked Weed, etc had been there all along. :wall:

Last trip, I knew it was over so I turned it into a beer trip/mission. Ended up bringing back like $350 worth of beer between NC and SC, starting with the Asheville/WW trip. Priorities. Lol

We are going to Myrtle beach this August and driving there from IL, need to figure out a path that allows me to grab some good beer along the way. Like NoDa and Wicked Weed.

I'd say those 2 are a must. Plus Asheville has a bunch of breweries but I'm not real familiar with most of them other than Green Man.When in SC load up on Westbrook, it should be everywhere. Also, Coast Brewing's Hop Art IPA is solid and ive heard their Boy King DIPA is awesome but I couldn't find any when I drove through (both should available in 22oz bombers)...I'd check them out online and see if they have any other interesting releases...

That's about all I got, but I'm sure others will chime in

Went with Duet...got a little scared of the 9.5% PW Citra...I'll drink it in the next few days for sure.
