What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (4 Viewers)

Its National Hot Dog Day...I wish I had some Kogels, but since I dont, Nathan's will have to do. Gonna have some Dogs and Jai Alai later. #Murica

I was added to the TG Mug Club and sounds like I'll be getting some Mornin Delight soon
I was on the list and asked where I was when I was there. They didn't have an updated list as Todd was frantically signing up mug club members. Then Tuesday I got the email. I'll be joining you there sometime soon GB!

PseudoSue is brewed 7 miles from my house and we can't get any. Bunk.
I was in Decorah last week at the taproom. Grabbed a case and a half. Had a nice chat with some of the locals, ended up scoring a bottle of SR-71 too.

Weirdest thing happened. I drank a few sues amongst other things at the taproom. Went out to eat dinner then back to the hotel. Cracked a bottle of sue and it was nothing like the kegged version. Was afraid this was what I heard about with Brewhub taking over sue, that it wasn't the same. Opened another bottle the next day and it tasted fine. Guess I had some type of "palette fatigue."
Iowa locals say the latest BrewHub batch is closer than the first but that its still not as good. I had some of the first BrewHub batch and it was damn delicious. Id be happy to have any batch available.

Hawks - Captain Serious from Hailstorm has been bottled and should be in the Chicago area. $7.99 a bomber.

Also, looks like Oracle was released. Probably not in IL yet.

They say end of August. If you're going I'll make sure I introduce myself. They're very mysterious/vague about any releases, but details should be coming soon.

This brewery come out of nowhere or what? I don't think I'd ever heard of it but all of a sudden it's on tap at every beer bar in town. Like literally overnight.
That's interesting. I've a few different bottles from them, but I don't see it on tap very often in Denver. To OL is a "gypsy"/"contract" brewery from Denmark that doesn't own their own brewing equipment, but brews their beer at other breweries, such as De Proef. They were rated in the top 100 breweries in the world in 2012 and 2013 on RateBeer and were awarded 9th best brewery in 2014. I think they have probably been getting better distribution in the U.S. lately through the Shelton Brothers, who are based out of Massachusetts. You are lucky to get such good distribution of their beer.
I honestly don't think I'd ever heard of them until the past ~2 weeks. I've seen their stuff on tap at 3 different bars since then.
Well, it's not exactly a catchy name. I always have trouble remembering their name when I'm trying to think of it.

Hoping the Cajun joint the wife and I are going to tonight for my b-day has Purple Haze. Mmmm...

Little b-day bash Saturday... the place we're going has Bell's Oberon on tap. I'll probably have.... 8? :oldunsure:

My Alaskan cruise thankfully carries lots of beers by Alaskan Brewing... Had their Smoked Porter tonight, and a Hopothermia while cruising through Glacier Bay National Park yesterday.
That cruise was the wife and I's honeymoon a few years back, the Alaskan Amber was a staple of my onboard diet that week

Nice, saving my pennies ATM so I can go crazy in NC and SC in a little over a week :)

Just got home from Cigar City and Three Palms. Did some sampling.

Cigar City:

Blueberry Muffin Brown Ale (good)

Cask Neopolitan Maduro (decent)

Lue Gim Gong Citrus Pale Ale (good)

Cow Boss Imperial Milk Stout (good)

Swerve (Apricot Sour aged in Sauterns Barrels - 10% ABV. very good)

Three Palms:

Vanilla Coconut Stout (great)

Chocolate Covered Tart Cherry Stout (OK)

Cucumber/Lime Gose (Tasted EXACTLY like a salted cucumber. Very interesting and refreshing)

Coconut Lime Gose (decent)

About to have a Jai Alai canned yesterday (7-22-15). Super fresh Jai Alai is tough to beat.

Yeah, I've had the Amber too, as well as their Summer and Icy Bay IPA on the cruise. Trying to sample them all.

I am seriously having Crank withdrawals...Cycle was out of it for over a week, but its back on and Im heading there Monday to grab some crowlers to take to Alabama with me Thursday.

Oh, and this Jai Alai canned yesterday is easily the best Ive had. This beer falls off fast, but when fresh its among the best IPAs IMO.

Taking it light on my back deck, I had a couple pretty good Ontario pilsners (Steamwhistle and Creemore Lot 9), then a "sweetwater blood orange radler" from Amsterdam brewery, which was fine, as far as orange soda goes.

3hr layover in Charlotte had turned into a 5hr layover. Pounding hop drops. Never fly USAir ever. Ever.

On the way out we had to emergency land in Albuquerque. Stuck there for 5hrs while they fixed thep lane. At least they had a local beer focused bar.

La Cumbre? I just got a can of their Elevated IPA from a friend...I hear its pretty awesome.

I really like La Cumbre's Elevated IPA and Project Dank IPAs. I always stock up on some when I'm down in New Mexico.

No. Rio Grande and Sierra something. All solid. Trust me. I had them all.

Copper Kettle Mexican Chocolate Stout aged in Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels with vanilla beans. Man, this is delicious, especially for someone like me who loves big, bold flavors in their beer. I've been anxiously awaiting them to throw the base MCS into bourbon barrels since they first opened. Flavors of dark chocolate, cocoa powder, fresh vanilla beans, cinnamon, roasted chile peppers, bourbon, and charred oak.

Buckfast, you going to GABF? I'm flying on the Wednesday before and out Sunday.
Yeah, I will be definitely be there. I'm not sure which sessions yet, but I am hoping to get tickets for Thursday night and Saturday afternoon next week. I'm really excited to come by your booth. If you are getting in early enough on Wednesday and don't have any plans/obligations, you should get a ticket to go to the What the Funk festival on Wednesday night. It is an awesome festival hosted by Crooked Stave with an elite selection of rare sour and barrel-aged beers. I already got a VIP ticket. Here is the link to buy tickets if you are interested:

There is so much good stuff going on in Denver during GABF week. Let me know if you want to meet up and hit any events that week.

Tropicalia IPA. Juicy as ####.
Nice. Really want that one. I had the Jai A'lai beers this past weekend. Loved the regular. Oak aged was fine, but would prefer just the original.

Today: working on a growler of Community Beer Works That IPA

Last night:

Allagash Saison

Bells Oberon

Greenport Harbor Summer Ale ( :X do not recommend)

Community Beer Works Whale

Hawks hooked me up real nice. Enjoying a Half Acre Vallejo. This beer would be in my IPA rotation if it was local. Love the dankness.

Grapefruit Radler + shot of gin
TBS-inspired idea?
Saw on tv about the time it was being discussed over there. Hey...clean out your inbox over there or PM your address so I can mail you those Oyster cards for London.
I've been meaning to renew the VIP inbox so that's why my inbox is full.

But, that said, we aren't going to London anymore. Our friend in London is finishing his thesis and was worried that he wouldn't have enough time if we visited him. So now it's Prague --> Berlin --> Amsterdam instead. Thanks though....I really appreciate it.

Joe Daddy Coffee Stout....so-so.

Anyone have a favorite coffee beer?

I did like the Goose Island Fulton St.....first non-porter/stout that I've had that has a nice coffee taste.
