Oberon while I hot smoke some chicken quarters that I brined in cider / spices overnight. Beautiful day here, and it's about freaking time!

Sounds good. Cooking method?3 parts tequila
2 parts fresh squeezed lime juice
1 part simple syrup
1 pound chicken wings
1/4 cup melded butter
1/2 cup grated Parmesan
1 table spoon garlic powder
Baked. I was going to do it outside on the grill but it's raining. And it should be 1 tsp garlic. Tbl would be a little much. After baking/grilling dredge in butter then parm/garlic mixture.Sounds good. Cooking method?
My wife loves this stuff. For her birthday, we had a cookout and bought a case of it. People were raving about it. It was very popular. Are we beer nerds suppose to hate Otra Vez? I'm on my third, just pulling the grub off the grill, seems a damn fine beer to me.
Never had Otra Vez, but generally really like Sierra Nevada stuff quite a bit.Are we beer nerds suppose to hate Otra Vez? I'm on my third, just pulling the grub off the grill, seems a damn fine beer to me.

Had that at the tasting room a few weeks ago. The oak really takes the edge off of the Jai Alai. Really good but think I like IPAs in bourbon barrels than oak.White Oak Jai Alai
Nice. Founders is taking over the taps at my local tomorrow night. What else did you/they have?Local beer place has had a different brewery in every week. They've mainly been Florida breweries (last week was Funky Buddha Wide Awake and Mora Mora) but last night was Founders. On tap was a 2015 Imperial Stout (which was delicious) and Mosaic Promise (good but a little on the dry side). The rep also brought in a bunch of bottles so I got some free samples of KBS and Sumatra.
For Founders, it was just the regular Porter, 2015 Imperial Stout, and Mosaic promise.Nice. Founders is taking over the taps at my local tomorrow night. What else did you/they have?
I've bought a few 6er's of it...good enough for me for it's style and readily available just about everywhereAre we beer nerds suppose to hate Otra Vez? I'm on my third, just pulling the grub off the grill, seems a damn fine beer to me.
You really can't go wrong with anything from Founder's IMO. Anything with "breakfast" or "*******" in the name are particularly worth trying.Nice. Founders is taking over the taps at my local tomorrow night. What else did you/they have?
Agree Founder's is good stuff. Was surprised as hell that I like the Nitro Rubaeus Raspberry Ale. Such an odd beer. You really can't go wrong with anything from Founder's IMO. Anything with "breakfast" or "*******" in the name are particularly worth trying.
If you like Rubaeus, give Blushing Monk a try if you can find it.Agree Founder's is good stuff. Was surprised as hell that I like the Nitro Rubaeus Raspberry Ale. Such an odd beer.
Blushing Monk is really good but i'm not a fan of Rubaeus or the similar Shorts Soft ParadeIf you like Rubaeus, give Blushing Monk a try if you can find it.
Lupine had an almost Coconut taste to me, outf'ingstanding. Better than Funzino IMO.This reminds me I need to pick up more Mosaic Promise.
Last night had Pipeworks Lupine using some experimental hop they didn't name. It has great reviews and it is worthy of them. Outstanding beer.
Stumbled upon some Cassian Sunset at a local dive store. Will be opening one of those this weekend too.
Passed on Funzino and got 2 more Lupine.Hawks64 said:Lupine had an almost Coconut taste to me, outf'ingstanding. Better than Funzino IMO.
Can never pass on a new PW ninja, didn't get any Shimmy but I have soooo much hoppy beer I can't keep up. I can't wait till Mike opens up the brew pub in Elk Grove and Une Annee is close to being ready in Niles.Passed on Funzino and got 2 more Lupine.
Just missed on Lunch. It was gone in less than 2 hrs. I did get the last Shimmy Shimmy Ya from Mikerphone though.
Ocelot (eta: wtmf. i quoted this post.... a month ago. when i replied to this thread, it pre-filled the old quote and the original response i had typed out. i deleted all that information and posted 'Oberon', which the forum changed to 'Ocelot'. neat.)We sold out of Home bottles in 4hrs. I can't access the BA trade forums anymore, so not sure how much of it was hoarded for trading. A lot of people bought the full case limit. Generally means it's being traded.
I hear you man. So much good here right now.Can never pass on a new PW ninja, didn't get any Shimmy but I have soooo much hoppy beer I can't keep up. I can't wait till Mike opens up the brew pub in Elk Grove and Une Annee is close to being ready in Niles.
Don't get too excited, New B is weak.Debating whether to put something from the private stash in the fridge for this evening. I've been out of town for bachelor parties or at weddings for the last 3 weekends so haven't had a good long Saturday at home in awhile.
Stopped off at Community Beer Works this afternoon for a growler of That IPA and a pint of KS4 - Hoppy Sour Saison. New Belgium just arrived in Western NY so I am trying a Citradelic IPA now. Good but almost a little too fruity.
I'm not. I've had a handful of their beers before and have never really been impressed. The La Folie I've had was solid.Don't get too excited, New B is weak.
Thanks for the heads up.Not usually a big fan of New Holland, but their Tasmanian Hatter Galaxy and Nelson hops is really good. Look out for that.
For anyone local to Chicagoland, To 11 is an OUTSTANDING gose. Sour, salty (most American brewers miss this aspect), big wheat crispness / twang. Perfect light summer beer and well worth the drive out to Valpo if you like the style.Coeur de Lion said:Just stopped at Four Fathers on the way home from the water park for howlers of To 11 (gose) and Western Sunrise (Brett DIPA).
