What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (3 Viewers)

Also Shorts released Psychedelic Cat Grass IPA today. Real limited.   It was bottled and landed in stores same day. Great beer. Similar to the Freedom they do but lighter on the guava, more hops.

We haven't gotten unfiltered yet as far as I know, although it was rumored to come to IL this time around.

I will drown my sorrows with an Oracle.
EB Unfiltered is amazing. Stone kills it with the ability to get that beer mass produced and distributed so fresh.

Made a run today for this weekend:

Enjoy By Unfiltered (love this beer -- thrilled to have it again)

Resin

GI Sophie
Shorts Psychedelic Cat Grass reach there? It was a bit of a war zone in Michigan to get it. Worth it though. Tastes dank af. Tastes like pure weed.

I've heard. I did pick up a Citracado but been looking forward to getting unfiltered.

Ugh...do I really need to go to Indiana. On purpose?

I can't believe it doesn't make it to Illinois. How far are you from Indy?  In Chicago proper?
From what I understand it was here before and was supposed to be here this go around.  I am in the SW burbs so it's actually a short trip. I am just being an ###.

Jealous of the v1 and Todd. Two of my favorites. Although I can't complain, I'm on hop overload right now. Excited to try Double Two Hearted tomorrow for the first time.

Sure Bet is pretty amazing too. Actually not really a loser in the bunch.

That said, double what????

Never had Sure Bet. Love PW IPAs though. Tomorrow a local bar has an elusive Double Two Hearted tapping. I've never had it but since 2H is basically the godfather of midwest IPAs, I'm real excited but do worry it will be a little more malt forward than I prefer. That said, I think Bells tends to do a great job balancing hops and malt.

A brand new local brewery (with a well-connected owner) apparently is one of the few breweries nationwide that is getting the recipe to brew Arrogant ******* for some sort of Arrogant ******* nationwide tour.  Pretty neat.

Costco here doesn't carry bombers, and I think I paid $30 for the bottle of Gillian.   :kicksrock:
The one in Oakbrook is the only one around that does and they have a pretty good selection. I hate when I get something at the local shop and then see it at Costco for 2/3rds what I just paid.

Hmm... my membership would be good there too, right? Might be a hard sell with the wife, though, LOL -- honey, we need to drive more than an hour past "normal" Costco so I can buy more beer...

I paid $30 or $35 for my Gillian.   Havent tried yet, taking Up North this weekend.  Also have the other one...Halia I think?   Store still has a bunch of the 2015 ones too.  Just so hard to shell out for a bunch of $25+ bombers

Yeah, bombers are teh suck in terms of $ / oz. period. Even if they're in the $10 range, you're looking at roughly $30 / sixer prices. At $25+ it's really hard for me to pull the trigger too. I'll do it once in a while for a limited beer that I know is absolutely great (like the sisters), but it hurts.

They still make Concord Grape Sofie every so often?  Probably one of the best beers I've ever had.
Don't think I've ever seen or had this -- but would grab it up in a second of I did.
I only had it once, at Map Room maybe 5 years ago.....I remember it being amazing.  I love regular Sofie but that one was on another level.

ETA - it was on tap.  No idea if it was ever bottled.

Walk in and they don't have said product anymore because "it must have sold out" but oh wow....look at all of this beer. You had no idea. Since you're here....

And all the other breweries that have sold out?
Basically, yeah. But it gets complicated. Goose Island isn;t complicated for me.

Eh, smaller / local will likely always get the lion's share of my beer $$$, but at the end of the day I'm all about good product, and GI makes some damn fine beers.
That's fine. Do what you gotta do. I can't justify giving them a dime. They actively strong arm their way on to shelf space and on to tap handles that would otherwise be available to the company I work for and another company I'm an owner of as well as all my craft beer brothers in arms. They blur the pay-to-pay lines, undercut local pricing to gain share, and hold the entire inbev portfolio hostage to get accounts to play ball. They can go #### themselves.
