What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (1 Viewer)

I don't even know where to begin

'14, '15, '16 KBS (PSA don't age your KBS, it deteriorates)

Ayinger Dunkle (only barrel in WI)

'14, '15 BCS (a brazillion times  better than KBS)

I'm forgetting a bunch and include mucho homebrew

3 Fonteinen Oude Geuze Golden Blend, 12.7oz bottle, 2011 vintage...I was worried it might be flat based on Untappd checkins....I took the wire cage off the bottle and sat down to read a text...about 10 seconds later *POP*, the damn cork shot out on its own and hit my cathedral ceiling. lol. Plenty of carb...this is the 2nd Golden Blend Ive had (last one was 2014 vintage I believe), and I dont know how a sour could be more delicious or complex...Im getting barnyard funk, woody oak, boot leather, a bit of citrus, grape tannins, maybe some peat moss...just outstanding. Im gonna need to find more of this.

I spent several days in Nashville and drank lots of beer including IPA's from Yazoo, Blackstone and a few other local breweries that were solid but not overly impressive.

The one exception was from Bearded Iris, their Homestyle IPA was  a delicious, hazy, juicy, Mosaic hop creation.    It's definitely worth seeking out if you are in the area.

Jade is sooooo good. 18th Street's APA game is just absolutely top shelf. I'll put Jade, Temporal Purgatory, Candy Crushable, and Lake Street Express up against anyone's lineup.

And their IPAs are probably even better IMO.
Mich City is selling some of their beer now, like the Cone Crusher a lot.

I'd almost give you a blanket "buy on sight" recommendation for anything that you see from them -- certainly anything hop-forward gets my strong recommendation. In terms of IPAs / DIPAs, Under Crown and Villain are both world class IMO and can hang with anything made anywhere in the country, and the rest of them are pretty darn good too.

It's all brewed by Green Flash now and it has been inconsistent (both in quality and availability). Plus draft only.  :sadbanana:
Found one...at the in-laws house that I must have left a long time ago. Best by date...May 24, 2016.

Fresh!

Actually, I wonder if it sitting so long produced some haze...

I got the Bearded Iris cans at the brewery but my initial love may have been slightly overzealous.  I enjoyed a Heist Citraquench'l last night and followed it with a Homestyle.  While the Homestyle is certainly solid and above average it couldn't stand up to the Citraquench'l but then again very few IPA's can.  I wouldn't go crazy trying to track it down but certainly enjoyable if one ends up in your glass.

Two Hearted on draft last night. Such an under-rated beer IMO. Always delicious, and can find it fresh for $9 / 6 pretty much anywhere that sells beer.

Outstanding beer when you get a new keg and clean lines.  I think people just assume how good it is and drink trendy beers.  My go-to beer.

Been sick all week so no beer for me :kicksrock:   but I did pick up a Rogue Nation Brutal IPA at Costco today. Never had anything of theirs before so figured why not. Hopefully I'll be able to have it tomorrow.

Civil Society DDH Emerald Showers. Good but I prefer the regular version more. This ones more bitter and piney. Still tasty though.

Anxiously awaiting; I've only had one of his beers (Special Sauce #9) but if that is representative of his stuff, WOW.
Yeah they are all really good. I haven't had any of his stouts but they go just as fast and are rated just as highly. Looks like it won't be till spring the earliest based on his latest FB post on it.

Back in the States. Ellison You Can Get That With Juice. Very good but a little more bitter than I expect from a NE IPA, not quite as juicy. Sounds like the first back in October was better. Oh well, better than Dos X.

Lets go Lions!

Ok, here's my ontario craft beer list for the day:

Old Flame Vanilla Porter

Old Flame Dirty Blonde

Publican House High Noon

Publican House Square Nail Pale Ale

Manantler Ketchin Zs Oatmeal Stout

Manantler Festivus for the Restivus Roggenbier
