Watching this opening date too. Not many good breweries close by me in A Heights.Once Mikerphone opens up here we'll have to put a trade together GB!
Surly Furios this afternoon

Unless something for my kids pops up I will be there opening day/night.Brony said:Watching this opening date too. Not many good breweries close by me in A Heights.

Depending on when, cornhole opportunity for sure -- although Jan - April is trade show season for me, so there's a chance I'm out of town...Unless something for my kids pops up I will be there opening day/night.
I saw a check in on Untappd of this beer, and it was a low rating...I almost commented that with a name like that, it better be good. lolTrying some new brews tonight after doing the "make your own sixer" thing:
450 North Juice Box = meh -- maybe my expectations were too high considering the name, or maybe it wasn't super-fresh, but meh. Too malty, and just typical muddy and bitter hop presence. Do not recommend.
So by "juice" you mean NE style ipas? Thanks CDL....strongest thing I'm drinking is juice. Still feel like crap.
It looking like March/April is optimistic, first brewery in Elk Grove and has a lot of challenges.Depending on when, cornhole opportunity for sure -- although Jan - April is trade show season for me, so there's a chance I'm out of town...
No I meant juice as in Orange and Apple....felt like hell for about a week. And I'm drinking a stratus right now! Might be my favorite of the cloud series. So by "juice" you mean NE style ipas?
Speaking of which, have you tried the new Stratus? Now with more haze...
Keep looking for it, seems like it's not anywhere in SE till tomorrow. How is it this year?Bells Hopslam.
Getting ready for Haymarket grand opening in Bridgman, Mi tomorrow.
Its good. Got it in cans, looking forward to it on tap. They made a lot of it this year, my account got 50 cases, last year 30.Keep looking for it, seems like it's not anywhere in SE till tomorrow. How is it this year?
Merchants had it last Friday but I couldn't get up there. They said they may get another small shipmentKeep looking for it, seems like it's not anywhere in SE till tomorrow. How is it this year?
They got lucky on that one, nobody else seemed to get it yet.Merchants had it last Friday but I couldn't get up there. They said they may get another small shipment
I prefer Cumulus to Stratus but newer release will be tested tonight. I'd throw Navaja in there too.So it's better than last years, but I'd rather have Hailstorm Stratus, a PW fish or Ninja.
Agree on the Navaja, need to have a Cumulus near when I have a Stratus. I definitely prefer Stratus over Nimbus.I prefer Cumulus to Stratus but newer release will be tested tonight. I'd throw Navaja in there too.
Yeah, Mehmbus. The other 2 are really good though and I haven't tried the new hazy Stratus.Agree on the Navaja, need to have a Cumulus near when I have a Stratus. I definitely prefer Stratus over Nimbus.
I haven't, tbh I hadn't even heard of them before now.Yeah, Mehmbus. The other 2 are really good though and I haven't tried the new hazy Stratus.
Have you been to Myths and Legends?
I believe so.I haven't, tbh I hadn't even heard of them before now.
Are they the renamed Urban Legend?
And I really need to head over to IL to grab some Hailstorm one of these days. I did go grab some more Galaxyfest and some Villain for this weekend's games though.Wonder why they changed their name....I was looking at their beer list and thought it was a bit odd that they also have a DIPA Catherine the Great.I believe so.
And the latest and greatest Stratus is awesome.
TBH I am not likely to buy it again. 20/6 pack is crazy for what it is IMO.No Hopslam here yet.And I really need to head over to IL to grab some Hailstorm one of these days. I did go grab some more Galaxyfest and some Villain for this weekend's games though.
Yeah, I know. But I'll probably buy it every year just for nostalgia's sake. It's definitely not mind-blowing (or even close) anymore, but I go through my sixer pretty quickly every year nonetheless. I'm a big fan of the honey / hops thing, and Hopslam is easy to get when it hits. Thus far I've been too busy / lazy to drive up to Bridgman to get Honeystone or out to Granger to get Honey Badger LOL.TBH I am not likely to buy it again. 20/6 pack is crazy for what it is IMO.
Yeah I get the honey hops combo with PW fish series.Yeah, I know. But I'll probably buy it every year just for nostalgia's sake. I totally get that, traffic into the city sucks.Maybe some day they'll distro in NWI so I can get their stuff more easily (I mean it's a few miles away, and they send stuff to NY and now CT -- come on). As it stands, it's typically less of a PITA for me to go up into Michigan than it is to go over into IL given the traffic and crap.
I was told some naming dispute with a place in California or something like that.Wonder why they changed their name....I was looking at their beer list and thought it was a bit odd that they also have a DIPA Catherine the Great.
Just stop at Hailstorm when you do an Open Bottle trip....or pick up some cans at OB. Growlers at Hailstorm are very reasonable (I want to say $13 for the refill and $3 for the glass?) especially compared to the ridiculous prices being charged for growlers these days by a lot of places. No Hopslam here yet.And I really need to head over to IL to grab some Hailstorm one of these days. I plan to next time I head over. I actually meant to grab some last trip, but somehow about $150 of other beer jumped into my basket first.Just stop at Hailstorm when you do an Open Bottle trip....or pick up some cans at OB. Hmmm... my favorite local bar / restaurant (https://www.beermenus.com/places/7498-stacks-bar-grill) is tapping a keg of it tonight. If that holds out until tomorrow (and it should) maybe I won't buy any cans this year.Yeah, I know. But I'll probably buy it every year just for nostalgia's sake. Wow that all sounds soooo goodIn other Hailstorm news....Lumberjack Breakfast coffee, maple, milk stout release on Jan 21. Then on the 28th its the release of Vlad the Second Order bourbon barrel aged Vlad.
Wow, they really jacked up the price. It's 16/6 here in Mich.TBH I am not likely to buy it again. 20/6 pack is crazy for what it is IMO.
They do every year. Think a six was between $21-22 here last year after tax IIRC.Wow, they really jacked up the price. It's 16/6 here in Mich.
Bear in mind, the weather's pretty sh#tty in the midwest this time of year. Not a lot to do BUT drink.Green Bench Sunshine City IPA.
All you Midwest guys are always partying and carrying on, I feel like an outsider in here. lol

Stratus is better!Cumulus is really good!
