What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (4 Viewers)

Next up is a 2000 Oudbeitje Lambic.

Commercial Description:

This unique, refreshing beer appetizer is the result of amalgamating fresh strawberries with lambic during summer.

Middle Ages Kilt Tilter

Any hop receptors are feeling like the homely girl at the prom, because this is one malty SOB.

To date this is the best lambic I've ever had

Cool. Heard good things about Oudbeitje. Still a Cantillon fan, especially after Mahar's had the straight uncut lambic on tap last year. Insanely tart, four of us drank it like fish while 10 others looked at us like

The two Cantillons I've had I wasn't too impressed. But I haven't had any of the "high level" ones ($25 and up). Cantillons only recently came available to me, so all in due time I suppose. There are quite a few of them to check out :)

There are so many of them... and some of them are like the Fantomes, just plain strange yet can-I-have-another? Some are just...eh. I've yet to have a Cantillon in bottle knock my socks off (have a 1996 bottle of Geueze in the vault for someday), but on tap is a different story entirely. The one that Mahar had on tap was too tart even for the staff. I think my buddy and I emptied the keg or did a good job at it. Scary when there are three bars in driving distance wih that on tap on a semi-regular basis.

I'm fairly sure I've never seen it on tap. :wall:

Moand and Dove in Amherst MA has it on a regular basis, and my guess is you'll see it at their new place in Northampton, which could be an epic beer bar when it opens in the next couple of months.

Met the Moaner (Dan) a few times - great guy who is so far beyond passionate for beer it's scary. And his business sense is first rate - will likely be a millionaire (or close on it) before 35, and cool on him if he is. Absolutely raises the beer intelligence of the region by a few points just by being here - same with Mahar, Billy, and the cast of characters over on Madison.

Having a Diet Coke. At work.

Finally done. Should be heading home soon. :pickle:

Oh, and a Bear Republic Big Bear Black stout.
Man, just saying that gave me a buzz, and grew me beard.
It really is a unique beer. Interesting blend of roasted, smoked, sweet and even sour malt flavors. And a nice alcohol mule kick towards the end :D
 My tastes/sinuses could never grasp all that, but more power to ya.I do know what I like, and on that note, here goes my 44th fluid oz. of Fat Tire...down the pipe! :banned:

This here Kilt Tilter... sneaky SOB. Huge n' malty.
That's from my neck of the woods
The "This here" part was classic.Okay, time for a Skoal, and when I come back, I will reveal the FBG I talked about with close connections to Stone Brewery. :excited: I forgot to do this a few weeks ago, when mentioned. No big deal, but I hope he gets inundated with requests because of it. :lmao:

I believe that was revealed some time ago.

I'm oncall so I shouldn't drink.

Had a Clipper City Small Craft Warning and an Old Dominion Spring Brew.

Nice little buzz working. I'll work that off soon. Heading back out to set more posts for the fence.

Had another card game on the "beer porch" last night. Finally wrapped up around 3 AM. Had a couple of Celebration Ales and then a bomber of Avery Maharaja IIPA before switching to Makers (first liquor I've had in six months). The Maharaja was pretty good, but it wasn't up to the same level as DFH 90 min., Hercules, Ruination, etc. Just decent.

Currently drinking a Stone RIS. After this, got some Dogfish 90min and Stoudts OIS in the queue.
Not a bad lineup. surprised you don't post in this thread more often.
Only a few weeks ago discovered the store by me that sells good beers. Been using this thread as a guide. I'm sure I'll post more often in this thread when I become more acclimated with these types of beers.

More 06.06.06 info

We’re really happy with this year’s Stone 06.06.06 Vertical Epic Ale. This is a very dark ale fermented with Belgian Trappist yeast, so the flavors in it are really deep and complex. The Belgian yeast clove notes combine nicely with the roast malt flavors, with dried cherry and anise undertones. The flavors imparted by the special roasted malt are very rich, smooth, and silky. It will be interesting to see how this beer ages, and how the smooth roasted malt characters evolve with the spicy Belgian yeast character over time.

 :excited:

A case for now and a case for later.

:drooling;Stone really needs to distribute here.

Rogue Mocha Porter this afternoon, probably followed by a Deschutes Black Butte Porter.

Found out my local store (Liquid Solutions) just got in some AleSmith Speedway Stout - picked up one for later tonight and one to put up for a while.

Will definitely be looking for the 06.06.06 there next week.

I just put in an online order with them this week.

So did I. How long does it take for them to process and ship?

Wish I knew. My order is still "pending".

I think it's been a while since I thanked Fro for sending me the Pliny the Elder. Man that was good beer. If anyone wants to do a growler trade sometime....

Arrogant *******.... :banned:
I just drove a total of two hours across the border into Tennessee today to pick up some Arrogant ******* and Ruination. I used a festival in Johnson City as my excuse. I can't wait until Stone decides to make it out here to North Carolina.
