What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (2 Viewers)

In case anyone might be interested, here are other examples of Flemish Sour Ales, from RB:

The Best Flemish Sour Ales

De Dolle Speciaal Brouwsel 20 - 4.21

Rodenbach Alexander - 4.12

Panil Barriquée (Sour) - 4.08

New Belgium La Folie - 4.04

Liefmans Kriek Ongezoet op Vat - 3.99

Rodenbach Grand Cru - 3.88

Bristol Skull & Bones Special Strong Dark - 3.87

New Belgium NBB Love - 3.84

Pizza Port Le Woody Brune - 3.84

LaConner Framboise - 3.83

I plan to see what I can find in my area and try some if I can.
Most if not all of those you will have an extremely hard time finding. The Rodenbach Alexander is retired and the Grand Cru can be difficult to find. Some I've never seen and others are on tap only.I would recommend looking into the Jolly Pumpkins beers from Dexter Michigan. They do some very nice wild sours. La Roja might suit your needs and is readily available.

Just had a new one (for me) tonight -- Samuel Smith's Nutty Brown Ale

Don't know if its already been discussed in this thread, but I thought it was a pretty smooth tasting brown ale. I don't know if I would place it over the DFH Brown Ale, but it's close.

Anyway, it was the perfect complement to a nice Sunday evening dinner :D

That makes 2 of us but I really disliked it. It was really "tart" for some reason.English Brown Ale

Spawned from the Mild Ale, Brown Ales tend to be maltier and sweeter on the palate, with a fuller body. Color can range from reddish brown to dark brown. Some versions will lean towards fruity esters, while others tend to be drier with nutty characters. All seem to have a low hop aroma and bitterness.

Hmm, this came as a bit of a shock. For the name of the brew, it seems more on the fruity side than the nutty side.

Had the Moylan's Kilt Lifter from the BOTM. Really solid effort - malty but not overwhelmingly so, with just enough hops to balance. Hid its 8% well.

2 things:

1) it saddens me when, at quarter to 8 in the AM, i check in and don't find this thread at the very top of the forum. is there no one drinking through the night anymore?

2) what is with this @#$#@^ heat wave? I already have traces of swass and I haven't even hopped in the car to go to work yet.

Beermann's Bourbon Barrel Barleywine is getting a 4.4 in my book. The warmer it gets, the crazier the flavors become. Seriously delicious.
 :pickle: :headbang: :pickle: :headbang: :pickle:  Really good beer, one of if not the best bourboun aged beers that I have ver had.
I'm a bonefied bourbon barrel beer fan, for sure.
I picked up one of these today. A belgian style scotch ale aged in bourbon barrels. Not cheap at 14 dollars for the 750, but I couldn't help myself. I will probably try this tomorrow.
Picked up one this morning. Not sure what they charged me. I'll have to look at the receipt. Total was $36 including tax for 6 bombers/750ml's.

High of 94 here today. It's now 97. :hot: High of 98 tomorrow, which obviously means it'll be over 100.

ETA: I did just buy 6 bottles of beer this morning. They're sitting in my car right now. Hope the ice pack holds up for a few more hours.

So, who would be interested in a growler of:

Dark Knight (13%abv) Double fermented Bourbon Barrel Aged Porter. DK has been aging in a bourbon barrel in our cellar for the last 6 months and is now ready to be served.

Dark Knight

Yeah, Redding is always five degrees hotter. I'm still not sure why, but I feel your pain. It's miserable outside right now and even worse where you are.

But it's a dry heat. :P Woodland, CA 105°F Feels Like 102°F

Williamsburg, VA 97°F Feels Like 105°F

Looks like the heat will be around longer for you. Should be better here by mid-week. 87° this weekend will feel nice. And if I ever feel like complaining I just look at the weather in Qatar where my nephew is stationed. 99°F as of midnight. :hot:

The dry heat is definitely better the humidity, but it's still friggin hot. Update: it's now 108, but it only feels like 106. Luckily, when it tops out at around 111 today, it will probably only feel like 109.Damn, I just checked MIC's neighborhood in the north valley, and they're already up to 112, and we havent' reached the peak yet today.

Just ordered my first order of Damnation from RRBC. Natalie called me back because I was (again) having trouble with the website ordering. Either I'm too stupid to figure it out or I entered something not quite right. I'm gonna just buck up and say that I'm stupid. Anyway, my first 4-pack of Damnation is coming my way whenever this ####### heat goes away.

Option one in a landslide.HTH. ;)

Breckenridge 471 Pale Ale - pretty good. Not as powerful as many other IPA's but as hot as it is, I consider that a good thing. Yum.

I was only so-so on this one. It is definitely a good one to have in this heat in terms of a DIPA. But by the standards, I considered it to only be adequate.Beatification on the other hand...... But I don't want to bore people with the details.

Absolutely, this beer was definately made better by the circumstances. But it's still not a bad beer just not among the best.

Holy crap its hot.  This is the first time I've been worried about heat affecting the packages I'm sending.
I am waiting to send a trade until next week because it's been 95+ here lately.
It's 105 here. Seriously, is this to hot to ship?

Having a Full Sail barleywine. Haven't really made up my mind on this. It's the first I've had of this style so I don't have anything to compare it to.

What is a barleywine anyway?

Yep. That's friggin hot. Dry heat or not, 100 plus is :hot: I was mistakenly excited for a moment. They revised the high for Wed. down to 88. But a "real feel" of 104. :(

Beer: having the smoked weizen from Aecht. I've had the marzen and the urbock. Never had this one before. Kind of weird.
