Pretty damn good. The honey gave it a smoothness I was not expecting with an IPA. Black Husky is becoming a favorite. I love their Pale Ale the most. Friday night I bought the Howler as well as O'so Convenient Distraction. Will go back for a bottle of Howler.how was this?Friday night enjoyed a Black Husky Howler.

Actually just outside of Pittsburgh. Hoplace is the name of the beer.Cincinnati?Rivertowne white ipa quite good. Had not heard if this brewery before tonight.
Huge Arker, damn auto correct. Might get lucky and open a 2003 120. Sheeeet.
On the way home had an Anderson Bourbon Barrel Stout. Got home and finished the night with a 120 and Huge Market. What a night.
Still alive, somehow. Did stumble back out to the bars and found a Maharaja (this place had KBS on tap last month) and a few more of the Anderson Barrel Stouts ($2.50 draft beers on Tue).are you still alive?

JEALOUS!I'm going to the Boulder SourFest at Avery Brewing this weekend. It should be a great event with loads of rare, interesting sour wild ales. Tickets sold out in less than a minute this year. I'm hoping that they release a beer list sometime before the festival.
I haven't been, but Wicked Weed would be the first place that I would go to.Still alive, somehow. Did stumble back out to the bars and found a Maharaja (this place had KBS on tap last month) and a few more of the Anderson Barrel Stouts ($2.50 draft beers on Tue).are you still alive?

Passing through Asheville this weekend, anyone have a can't miss stop if I only have enough time for one place?
I concur. I wouldn't miss Wicked Weed if passing through Asheville. I think they are highest-regarded local brewery on the national scene. I'm consistently impressed with their beer whenever I see them at festivals. Gumballhead is good but WAY too expensive. It's way cheaper at 3 Flloyd's. Kills me to pay 18 bucks for a six pack, although I pay more than that for Pipeworks....damn now that I am thinking about it beer is expensive!!Nothing today but found some hoppy wheat goodness I was looking for at Binnys S Loop:
Gumballhead
Akari Shogun
So good...
Good beer is and I think it's worth it. I get a lot of enjoyment from it. More than most purchases.Gumballhead is good but WAY too expensive. It's way cheaper at 3 Flloyd's. I agree, but pipeworks beer is ~22 a six pack. That's a lot of scratch!Good beer is and I think it's worth it. I get a lot of enjoyment from it. I agree. I complain when I buy $10 bombers of stuff but maybe I just have a complaining problem because I keep buying them.....Good beer is and I think it's worth it. Yeah that's nuts. I've only ever gotten the bombers for Pipeworks. It was pricey, but I don't remember exactly what I paid. I only go to Chicago 2-3 times a year so I don't even think about price when I am snatching up Pipeworks or 3Floyds since I can't get them in Michigan.I agree, but pipeworks beer is ~22 a six pack. Is this Great Lakes?Ilov80s said:Picked up a 4 pack of Chillwave.
It is outstanding, not the happiest DIPA, but it had a pineapple/grapefruit taste that's spectacular. This is a great beer.
Yeah, they released Eerie Monster DIPA recently which I liked, but this blows it away. I love the citrus IPAs and this just nails it.Is this Great Lakes?Ilov80s said:Picked up a 4 pack of Chillwave.

They had a different one last year, right? Or maybe 2 years ago? I thought it was just ok. Not sure, I don't regularly drink Great Lakes. I always like their beers, but for whatever reason, I don't buy it too often. I had the Eerie this winter I think, but I'm not sure it was released. They nailed the name, it's very tropical for an IPA.They had a different one last year, right? Or maybe 2 years ago? Maybe it was Eerie Monster I'm thinking of. can't remember the name.
It's 17.99 out by me in DuPage county....####. And only bombers from Pipeworks, allegedly 6 packs are coming but no idea when....Wait...who pays $18 a sixer for Gumballhead? It was $12.99 plus Cook County tax which isn't cheap and it's $10 at the brewpub, tax included. So yeah, I paid a little more for convenience since I was considering going to FFF tomorrow but don't have to now. I am right off of I-80 in the SW burbs so it really isn't that tough to get to Munster but this was about 3 min out of the way so I got lazy. Plus they don't sell Shogun at FFF.
The Akari Shogun was $9.99 a 4 pack of 16oz cans and I will put it up against Gumballhead any day. I think I like it a little better but I think I will have to do some field research tomorrow to really get that answer.
Does Pipeworks sell 6 packs yet? I have only seen bombers. Their stuff is great but I would really like to see them put out sixers.
