It's okay, nothing special.not reallyI'm gonna put this out there - I've never had Fat Tire. I don't think I've even seen it before. Is it that good?
It's okay, nothing special.Compared to standard bar fare, yes. Compared to 95% of the beers in this thread, no. Good session beer, better than the macro brew regulars.I'm gonna put this out there - I've never had Fat Tire. I don't think I've even seen it before. Is it that good?

Got it more for nostalgia than taste. It is still better than a lot of swill outside of this thread.i've had it a handful of times and thought it was decent enough. i'd drink it again.Psychopav said:Anyone try Michelob's Winter Cask Ale? I had this last night and it was a very nice beer. Vanilla flavor with a hint of bourbon. Tasty...
Nice, Old Fashioned or straight up?whiskey-flavored (or "flavoured" for our candian friends) whiskey. May get into some four loko next.
Drinking this right now. It was part of the assorted 12-pack that my mother bought for Thanksgiving. Of course, no one in my family really drinks beer, so I took 4 of the bottles that I'd never had before (Holiday Porter, Chocolate Bock, Old Fezziwig, and White Ale - I don't buy Sam Adams much). This is drinkable, but I don't think I'd go out of my way to buy a full pack of it; this might not really be my style though. The Chocolate Bock was quite good. Holiday Porter was alright - better than the Old Fezziwig, IMO. Haven't tried the White Ale yet.ETA: Anyone had the Old Fezziwig Ale? I've heard good things, but yet to give it a go.
Funny, my father in law bought the same variety pack for Thanksgiving, they were drinking the Miller Light and hte first thing I grabbed was the Chocolate Bock, I really enjoyed both of them, then worked on a Holiday Porter followed by the Old Fezziwig. Really liked the Chocolate Bock, the Fezziwig was MEH, as well as the Holiday Porter. Ended the night with a cognac (seems like the night cap at the in laws).Drinking this right now. The best thing about Fat Tire it that it makes a ton of money for New Belgium so they can continue to make a wide variety of good specialty beers. My favorite high-production beers from NB are their Trippel and their Abbey.Steve Tasker said:I'm gonna put this out there - I've never had Fat Tire. Will buy.Ithaca Beer Co. is unveiling their newest Anniversary Brew, Thirteen, a week from today at the brewery. Rumor has it, it'll be a Double Wit with Citra Hops.
LOL, cool. Wanted to hit somewhere in addition to Stone next time I'm there. They're in.... :drumroll: Alpine! I was surprised at how short the drive was from the coast. Think I got there in under 25 minutes. Closer than Stone. Real tiny place. Good BBQ Pub as well (also really small). Are they in SD? Where? Finally made the trek to Alpine today. Was a lot closer than I thought. I'll be back soon. Growler prices are so cheap. Had:Willy Vanilly: Their wheat "Willy" brewed with vanilla. Very vanilla which I generally like. This would be fantastic with pancakes or french toast. Irish Red: Have had this before. Thought it would go good with my lunch. Not my favorite of theirs, but solid. Great '09: Their Barley Wine "Good", bourbon barrel aged. Super bourbon, yet super smooth. Cez Monmee: Cherry Sour. Fantastic. Touch of sweet, very tart. Got better with each sip.Ugly: This was cool. We were about to get the check and they hauled this keg in. Never been tapped before. First batch. Black IPA. A friend of mine hauled it in so poured me some. Amazing beer. Super hoppy on the nose. It is black, but it does';t taste like it. Just a hint of roast. Lets the hops do the work. Best black IPA I've ever had. Made it my growler fill. Afterward got a little tour of the tiny place. Crazy how small it really is. Great people working there. Pleasantly surprised to see they were selling bottles of "Ichabod" A sour with pumpkin, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Heard very good things. Grabbed a bunch of bottles. Got one for you if you want it, Task.

No idea. Give them a call tomorrow and I'm sure they can tell you where to find some. Or make a trip to the brewery next weekend for some 13 and Cold Front....Rebirtha>any idea why I'm having trouble finding Cold Front this year? When I was at the brewery over Labor Day weekend, they had just released this year's batches....I didn't buy any, figuring I'd be seeing it here in a matter of weeks. It's now December, and I still haven't seen it ONCE on the shelf.
Ha...I wish..might be a death wish with the snow in the southern tier though. I'm sure we'll get the 13...12 is still selling here.No idea. IMO, those are pretty poor approximations of the style. Something about them just falls flat.In other news, I'm finding it hard to type after a couple of Dogfish Head Indian Browns and a 750 ml Don de Dieu, but was it ever so tasty. The best thing about Fat Tire it that it makes a ton of money for New Belgium so they can continue to make a wide variety of good specialty beers.
