What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (2 Viewers)

Picked up a 4 pack of Chillwave.

It is outstanding, not the happiest DIPA, but it had a pineapple/grapefruit taste that's spectacular. This is a great beer.
Is this Great Lakes?
Yeah, they released Eerie Monster DIPA recently which I liked, but this blows it away. I love the citrus IPAs and this just nails it.
They had a different one last year, right? Or maybe 2 years ago? I thought it was just ok. The citrus sounds better.

Maybe it was Eerie Monster I'm thinking of. can't remember the name.
Not sure, I don't regularly drink Great Lakes. I always like their beers, but for whatever reason, I don't buy it too often. I had the Eerie this winter I think, but I'm not sure it was released. They nailed the name, it's very tropical for an IPA.
They make good beer but I hate supporting ohio

Chillwave was Alchemy Hour last year. Lake Erie Monster is a different IIPA.

guess i hoped for something more from the Rye of the Tiger. i've had such good luck with Great Lakes time and again.

c'est la vie. won't stop me from buying anything else they put out

I mean I didn't cream my jeans or anything

Probably wouldn't buy again...not anything special by any means

Going back to my old stand by, Black Husky Pale Ale, right now my favorite. I had a 4 pack of Devil Dancer bottle of Black Husky Howler and the pale ale. I had $7 bucks so I had enough for the beer with a buck to give to the local Kiwanis outside my store

Went to Cigar City Brewery in Tampa Friday afternoon...took the tour and tried their Invasion Pale Ale, Tony Jannus Pale Ale, Cucumber Saison, Table Saison Farmhouse Ale, Guava Grove Sour, Sertoma Smoke Red Ale, Tocobaga Red Ale, and a cask Peach IPA.

Awesome brewery and tasting room.

I'm jealous. What were your favorites?

The Cucumber Saison was interesting - very refreshing and would be a great beer after mowing the lawn...the Guava Grove sour (straight from the tank) was really good, and the Tony Jannus PA was a great citrus/hop bomb that I liked more than I thought I would. There was 5 or 6 others I wanted to try but didn't get a chance to. I'm gonna go back next weekend.

Correct - different beers.

We had a brewery open on Thursday this week. Looking forward to checking it out but I probably won't have a chance for another two weeks. They're serving food soon but not yet. Coming out of the gate with 7 beers on tap, and look at this place....it looks ####### awesome. Article with pics.

Also, I guess a local bar is opening their beer garden for the summer today with 5 different single-hop casks of Ithaca Flower Power. I'm gonna try to make it over there this afternoon but it'll probably be mobbed.

Update:

Amarillo

Citra

Simcoe

Didn't try Ahtanum or Centenniall.

 PM Quez. His favorite IMO

Prarie Bomb! imperial stout aged on coffee, cocoa nibs, vanilla beans, and chili peppers. This beer is awesome. Huge chocolate flavors mixed with coffee, creamy vanilla, and subtle pepper notes on the finish. Incredibly smooth and drinkable for 13% ABV.

Sounds like my kind of beer, but

with dinner

Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Ale, mmmmm Barleywine

with sunset

Green Flash Rayon Vert, Belgian pale

I want to hear more from the guy who had 3 BCS's and a 120 in one night. How are you not dead?
It was 3 BCBS, an Anderson bourbon stout bomber (13% one) and the 120 (these two were split 3 ways), and one maybe more Anderson Turkey stouts of the 6% variety (was close to blackout territory by this point). All I can say is the bourbon stouts taste phenomenal, and those high abv beers sneak up on you fast.

I'm in Charlotte a few more days, can you find this around town right now?
Nah, not distributed here. What part of Charlotte are you staying in?

I'll buy you a beer either downtown or at good bottle co around 615-630 if convenient. Only have time for a couple before a work dinner

Back at the Stone in the San Diego airport. Started with an IPA sampler this time - Stone IPA, Cali-Belgique IPA, and Stone Ruination IPA. Soon to follow with at least one Enjoy By. :banned:

Enjoy by 7/14/14. Tasty.

That's a stellar lineup. Stone is the best brewery on the planet.

Enjoy by 7/14/14 is indeed tasty.

But Sierra Nevada is the best brewery on the planet. Great year around beers and nobody comes out with better seasonals or one time beers.

Heading back to Cigar City tonight to meet an old friend I haven't seen since 7th grade - 31 years ago. Gonna try some beers I didnt get to try last week.

Just had a Goze at Rapp Brewing in St Pete...delicious 5.1% ABV beer.

Now about to have a flight at Cigar City...decisions decisions...
