What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (3 Viewers)

I'm on the East Coast to help the family brewery get up and running...
Wait, wut
Did I bury the lead? I'm opening a brewery! Well, I didn't want to move to Virginia, so I'm just part owner and helping to get it open and operational. Brother is running it. I got him into beer and brewing when he came for a visit to San Diego and we always talked about starting one. 15bbl system. Should be open by November. Pretty exciting.

Good luck, where in Virginia?

Good luck, man. Lots of competition but plenty of room for quality stuff.

It is pretty exciting. I'm about to head in to finish sawing wood for the bar. You can follow on Facebook and Twitter. You'll start updating more as we get closer to opening.

Good luck, looks like a good start so far getting the tanks set up. My friend is up and running, but it seems his time and effort goes about 5% into brewing beer and 95% into other aspects of his business. Every time I stop by he's all worked up about some regulatory thing or some other administrative headache, but I think that will change with time and he'll be able to focus more on what he does best. He missed out on the Great Taste (90 miles away) but will be at GABF (1000 miles away). His beer is now on tap in about 10 local bars and getting his bottling line up and working (major PIA). He's got about 40 new barrels ready to go. I was at the brewery last week and sampled a 14% RIS straight out of the fermenter - should be very good in about 6 months.

Got a 4 pack of Heady Topper on the way...can't wait to see what the hype is about.

Super cool. What is the name of his brewery?

We are being held up right now with architect submissions and inspections.

I'm disappointed in all of you. I thought a simple 3 bottle Beer It Forward would work in here.
Matt forte? (Guess #3)
Someone already tried him. Nope. I think the only guesses so far were AP and Forte. Right position though!
I like beer and will give it a shot..... LeSean McCoy?
Nope. So it isn't AP, McCoy, or Forte…. That's actually how the draft went. I was hoping for Forte (knowing AP would be gone.)

Palmersteel, or any other Charlotte guys, have you heard any info on the Goose Island Migration that will be in town 10/6-10/10? I linked something awhile back but it just gives dates, no locations. Wondering if they will do a takeover at different bars each night or just set up tents somewhere.

Haven't heard yet. There's only a few places it would be. Duckworths, Good Bottle, Salud probably the 3 leading candidates. I'll ask a couple guys who might know...

Turned off to Goose Island as they are now owned by Anheuser Busch(or AB in Bev). So many good beers I would much rather support the independent breweries.

Goose Island posts details about each Migration week event on their Facebook page under Events. They usually don't post the information about a specific event until like a week beforehand. It seems like they generally always do a tap takeover at some bar. I would check out their Facebook page in early October.

Great Lakes Brewing - Edmund Fitzgerald Porter

Sweet and choclaty on the front end then goes to semi bitter smokiness on the back end without being too bitter.

Gonna be in Michigan in a couple of weeks...what should I be on the lookout for? Landing in Detroit and might swing by Kuhnhenn to see if they have anything special, but other than that I'm gonna hut a few bottle shops in the Bay City/Saginaw area in hopes of finding something good.

Any Bells Mars still around? Anything else special I should be on the lookout for? Im partial to IPAs and sours.

The beer is still good and I love Matilda. A little pissed at them for now having 2 different kinds of 312. Did we really need two versions of that?

Jamaal Charles
We have a winner!

Ilove, tell Larry what he's won!
Larry, unless you have an objection, I have a bottle of Bells Oracle DIPA, Bells Mars: Bringer of War DIPA and Shorts Huma Lupa Licious (IPA). If you aren't an IPA guy, let me know. They are all fresh and likely difficult to impossible to find outside of Michigan. PM me Larry.
Sounds fantastic. We do have a lot of bell's here, but not those. Will pm you.

I had a duck rabbit last night that tasted like chimay red. Any ideas what it's called. I could not find any info on it on the duck rabbit website.
