What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (12 Viewers)

I got pretty trashed at Alpine last night. Only the second time I've been there for dinner. They released their colab with New Belguim, Super IPA, and a new IPA called HFS. Both phenomenal. Also had to have my share of Nelson, and they had a secret tap of their Flanders, Ned. Apparently they found a keg buried in the back of the cooler just labeled "sour". The brewer is pretty sure it is Ned, which they haven't brewed for about 5+ years. It was awesome.

I also have a big bottle of Deschutes Black Butte Porter that I haven't opened yet and I've heard great things about it.
I really love that one. I don't get it too often since it's a little pricey, but usually give into temptation 2 or 3 times while it's in stock. Lots of dark fruit mixed with the chocolate.

Anyone try this years Anchor Christmas yet?
I've only tried 4 of the winter beers this year, but the Anchor was probably my favorite so far. It had the most in-your-face Christmas-y taste.
Oh my. I just drank the Black Butte this morning. It is a notch above all the others I have listed. I would def recommend.

PW Blueberry Pie Scraper

Didn't get to it on Thanksgiving
Thoughts?

PW A Couple Two Tree...was worried it was going to be really piny, but it's not. It's almost like an imperial stout with no alcohol bite. It's good but not as good as the other two of the Three Dragons of Thanksgiving.

It's good. Definitely blueberry but not syrupy overkill. Real purple cool color. A lot more balanced than I was expecting....I was worried about a syrupy mess.

I have one more in the fridge, will crack it on Christmas day I think.

Went to 2 smaller stores today and asked if they got their BCBS. Both owners said no and had some choice words to say about that too. I read on BA that some of the smaller guys were getting "punished" due to the amount of early releases last year.

Also think it has to do with the amount given to the bigger guys for Black Friday.

My team played on Thursday, time to just sit back and watch my fantasy team lock up a 1st round bye.

Drinking Southern Tier 2XMAS & some Stone Enjoy By 12.26.14 :banned:

At Coppertail brewing in Tampa for the first time...I'm impressed with their beers, you're gonna hear about these guys in the future.

Flight beers I've tried today:

Falko - Dragonfruit Florida Weiss

Purple Drank - Boysenberry Florida Weiss

Hopstream DIPA

Free Dive IPA

Wheat Stroke american wheat

Unholy American Trippel

Not A Pumpkin - coffee & cranberry porter

Big fan. Got a growler of Free Dive and Purple Drank.

Psyched to get my kegerator set up this weekend and christened it with a keg of Woody and Wilcox from Noda.

I think I am in heaven with a tap handle staring at me everytime I walk into the kitchen. :banned: :banned:

i have been enjoying off color brewery stuff lately. they have a *terrific* saison-farmhouse ale called Apex Predator and Scurry, their dark ale (which tastes it). i don't know if they have a distributor out of chicago though...

Had a couple Hanger 24 Betty IPAs this weekend. I usually don't follow the "trends", but I've liked a lot of IPAs after living in the Twin Cities for a couple of years.

And this one - from a small brewery outside of LA - is the shiznit. I don't think I've ever been buzzed off 2 pints but man. :homer:

Drool PW new DIPA
any word on the name??? I thought Unicorn Hits Rock Bottom was fantastic with the honey in it. I also loved Spiteful's Whale Tickler with the mango. I'm going to be all over this one.
Nope, but once it hits I am getting 3 or 4 I think.
It's out today! Sure Bet is the name.
AND it's Square F'ing Grouper brewed with Mango and honey. Hopped with Citra, Simcoe and Mosaic.

Was able to snag just one two bottles of Sure Bet, also grabbed a Big Lushious

Coppertail Free Dive IPA. I really like this brewery. There's gotta be some Mosaic hops in this one, its got a great dank/musty vibe.

They do, we get it on the shelf here. Very pricey.
that Apex Predator was superb. i also had something recently that had been aged aged in bourbon/whisley barrels. i think it was a Founders variant. tay-stee!

Cigar City Good Gourd.

A little on the sweet side. Figured I'd drink it instead of sending it in a Secret Beer Santa package over at TBS.

New Glarus Wisconsin Belgian Red. One of my favorites. Sharing a bottle with neighbors...might do a Serendipity too, which I haven't had yet...been sitting on it since July.

Let me know if you need more, plenty around. In fact I stopped by my beer store over lunch and they now have the Gift Pack available for sale.

So there should be some at the Woodman's in Kenosha? I'm headed there tomorrow.
There should be, hell that Woodmans has an island of New Glarus beers. My store is in Kenosha, I go to Tenutas every week. Not sure which New Glarus beer you are looking for, but the Serendipity may be out I think there is a ton of the Belgian Red around. I am goign back to my store in an hour to see if my beer guy has any special releases. I can check to see which New Glarus Fruit beers they have. One recommendation I can make Urban is go a little out of your way to Tenuta's and pick up some Black Husky, their Pale Ale, Twelve Dog Stout, and Sparkly Eyes are fantastic. If you are up in Kenosha and you missed out on Bourbon County I heard Mars Cheese Castle on I94 has Bourbon County for sale, unfortunately they are charging $40 per 4 pack.
