What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (1 Viewer)

Sculpin. Slumming it with the regular. :kicksrock:

Making my version of Judge Smails chili and considering using some of my Pipeworks Chipotle Smoked Porter in it. Most for me, some for the chili.
Follow my posts in that thread next time. My version kicks Smails' ###. Also involves lots of beer.
Is yours award winning? Mine is.

I am curious to see what your interpretation of a legend looks like so I will check it out.

Anyway - back to beer. The chipotle smoked porter was interesting. Spicier than expected which was kind of cool.
Award winning? It's mother ####### undefeated.

In my 3-5 people cook-offs over the years. Is your version posted in there?
You lost me when you wanted to add potatoes.

I haven't posted mine but can possibly be persuaded by , I don't know....a bunch of Nelson

Costco has "Kirkland Light Beer"... $21 for not one, but two cases of cans.

Experimenting with it this weekend alongside a case of Sam Adams Octoberfest
Iv'e seen this stuff at Costco can only imagine the crap it must be. But please report.

They stack the stuff to the ceiling at my local Costco.
I saw it today, made by Regal Brau Brewing Company in WI. :oldunsure:
Took a flyer on a double case of this stuff. Definitely exceeded my expectations. I've got a new light session beer.

A day of drinking...

Hop Henge

Heyoka

Grapefruit Sculping

Rinse repeat....tomorrow is going to be a long long long day.

Every now and then I have an IPA that's really good and I start to think it's better than Sculpin...then I drink another Sculpin and remember who the king is. So freaking good.

The potatoes were awesome. Are you a bean guy? If you add beans then GTFO anyway. If you are a meat only purist, I understand.

And I doubt your chili is as good as mine anyway. :coffee: Just curious about your process.

I had some good beers on tap in Baltimore tonight:

Troegs Nugget Nectar imperial amber

Sixpoint Hi-Res imperial IPA

Terrapin Wake-n-Bake coffee oatmeal imperial stout

Are you still in Baltimore? Drink whatever Union Craft you can find. And you need to go to Max's Tap House
Both of those places are on my list of places to visit while I'm here this week. Both were recommended by the bartenders at Brewer's Cask, which was a cool beer bar itself. I've heard a lot of great stuff about Union Craft, and it's only a few miles from my hotel.

BJs Brewhouse Piranha Pale Ale. Meh. Too malty. No hops to speak of.

Meeting a little Puerto Rican cutie I met online...first time meeting in person...I should be 3 beers in by the time she gets here...wish me luck.

:banned:

Anyone else tried SN Hop Hunter yet?

I went to the release party last week. This beer is great. The best smell of any bear i've had. It smells just like you are standing in a hop room.

I've been at Max's Tap House tonight:

Troegs Nugget Nectar

DuClaw Hell on Wood bourbon barrel-aged barleywine

And more Sixpoint Hi-Res

The Hell on Wood was really good.

Potatoes instead of beans in chili?!

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Don't knock it till you try it. Very small dice on waxy potatoes. It works I tell you! I ####### hate beans, so I will never eat a chili with beans. If you want a little extra mouthfeel in your chili without that terrible bean flavor a good waxy potato on a fine dice is fantastic.

Order a Medalla and when the waiter says they don't have it yell at him: WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DON'T HAVE MEDALLA!!!

I went to high school in Puerto Rico. We used to get a Corona and instead of a slice of lime we would pour a shot of Bacardi Limon in the bottle. That and shots of Goldshlager.

Picked up my 6er of Hopslam and a couple of PW Citra. Oof forgot how expensive hopslam is.
Didn't find any PW Citra...yet. Haven't really looked much either.

How much did Hopslam put you back? I heard ranges from $15.99 up to $19.99. Was lucky to get mine for $15.99.

Rumor is Abrasive is supposed to be released next week in the Chicago area.

19.99 is what I got hit for and my place is usually really reasonable on pricing

That would be awesome...I have so much to drink though. Better get to it!
