What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (22 Viewers)

Wow, no one really drinking tonight? Wingnut, Skylord and Fro must all be at the bar.

Anyways, I am having some of the Mendocino White Hawk IPA. :banned:
I just got home. A late night at work. Need to see whats in the fridge...

:hey: I just popped my lone bomber of Bear Republuc Red Rocket Ale.

Great ####in beer.

OK, time to relax finally. I'm having an Angel City IPA. This isn't a great beer, but periodically I like to check if anybody in Los Angeles can actually make really good beer.

Nope.

Ok. Just confirming. Closest good beer to Los Angeles is Pasadena and thats the Craftsman brewery. And a FINE brewery it is.

This IPA has a great aroma but an absolutely terrible after taste. I'm not really pleased with this beer right now.Funny, I was just reading the reviews on BA about this beer and the last guy to review it was thinking EXACTLY what I was thinking right now.

"Between this and a Sam Adams I will take the Boston Beer Company beer."

I've got a fridge full of Sam Adams and was thinking I should have popped one of those.

Alesmith's Grand Cru - Belgian Strong Ale - Holy Friggen Christmas. This stuffs packa a whloop. Good Belgian. I'm officially an IPA freak.
If this is the case then the Speedway stout is going to #### you up! Prepare yourself Fro.... :excited:

Mark your calandars

April 17th - Release of Beer Advocate's #2 beer in the world.....

The 2006 Stone Imperial Russian Stout :excited:

Just cracked open a bottle of Avery's Maharaja IIPA. Really strong citrus smell and taste. Not nearly the hoppiness I expected in an IIPA. It's good, not great, and not really what I was looking for.

I just finished a boston ale and I'm thinking...what are you doing? You don't have to work tomorrow. Why not have something a little bit more...assertive?

So I've moved to the Alesmith Horny Devil ale. Commercial description says everything

Horny Devil (formerly known as Belgian Strong Ale) is inspired by the curious beers produced by Trappist monks in monasteries across Belgium. The beer's dryness and strength are the result of a unique Trappist yeast strain in a warm fermentation. These attributes are subtly masked by the restrained use of premium low-alpha hop varieties. The malt flavors and fruity esters produced during fermentation create the initial impression, while authentic Belgian Candi sugar and fresh coriander add complexity to the palate. Appearance: Bright amber color, nearly orange, and good head formation and retention when properly served. Appealing Brussels lace. Flavor: Intriguingly complex. Starts with flavors of fresh coriander and characteristics of Trappist yeast, then fades to a nice, dry finish. Light on the palate but exploding with flavor. Aroma: Vinous aroma with a heavy dose of coriander and fruity esters from the Trappist yeast. Mouthfeel (body/texture): Light-to-medium body, with warmth from the high alcohol content and a clean, dry finish.

I am going to enjoy this tremendously :D

Having one of my last SN Bigfoots and wondering if there's any left at the local stores. I've only had a few of these beers, and already it's one of my favorites. Just so much hops and alcohol with a nice balance. Based on BA, it looks like I need to try the Old Ruffian from Great Divide....IF it's still available from the last release. I can't get any of the other top rated barleywines here.

Bigfoot is a huge beer, and I love it as well. If you like barleywines, next time youre in Tampa, the TBBC will be in its new digs, and the Moosekiller Barleywine is a MUST try (9.8%).

 I wish. The laws here in Florida dont allow it. No brewpubs can bottle, and no growlers either. Its too bad, cause they have really good beer - the best local beer Ive had. Check out their website at http://tampabaybrewingcompany.com/ for info on all their beers.

edit: the TBBC website is having problems with their brew shop and awards section for some reason...Theyve got some cool shirts, etc...

Well right now, the TBBC is in the process of moving a few blocks away, so they dont have a whole lot of their beers on tap...Last time I was there they had Sierra Nevada (in place of their own pale ale), Red Tail Ale (in place of their red), etc...but they do have SOME of their beers available...its still worth a stop, as the food is EXCELLENT (Ale-cheese dip, gumbo, crab cakes, mussels, mushroom barleywine meatloaf (to DIE for), shepherds pie, etc)...Grab a set on the balcony if you can and people watch while you enjoy a pint and some good food (they also have a full liquor bar)MJ Barleyhoppers is great as well (in Centro Ybor), they have a ton of beers on tap, but Ive never ate there...

edit: also, a bar called New World Brewery has GREAT beers on tap, including some Dogfish Head 90minute, harpoon, delerium, etc...They have a FREE jukebox, a nice courtyard to kick back and relax in, and the only food they have is pizza...but its GREAT brick oven pizza...on weekends they have a DJ playing tunes, but its not all clubby...a nice place for pizza and a pint...just around the corner from TBBC

I know that its just eyes but you can't tell that I am a real chic by the pic?Yes, I have been playing FF for about 10yrs totaling about 30 teams. Only last year did I start playing the on-line free stuff. It got out of control....ended up with 9 FF teams.....too much! nfl.com/cbssportsline is my favorite site to manage a league through....don't like Yahoo.

If I was going to put up a fake pic then it would have been of a model or at least of someone a lit'l more revealing. Actually, I tried that but I got busted....some of the guys knew here photo.I know that I haven't been here long but it is beginning to sound like practical jokes are a common thing.

I'm just teasing. :P Yeah, you are going to get shot down in the ffa trying to pass as a models picture. One of the lonely guys is going to recognize it.

Spent a little over 12 hours at work yesterday. I got home, grabbed a Stone IPA, then promptly feel asleep in my chair before even taking a sip. The G/F woke me up three hours later, asking if I was coming to bed. :bag: And now, here I am, posting at 6:45 am and I have already been at work for an hour. It looks like today is going to be as bad as yesterday. But what the hell, I'll be here tomorrow too. I'll be over 70 hours this week, easily.

Don't mind me. I'm just #####ing.

[/complain]

I just finished a boston ale and I'm thinking...what are you doing? You don't have to work tomorrow. Why not have something a little bit more...assertive?
I hope the address you gave me is for your home, or you won't get any new beers for the weekend.

No, its not. I've had things taken from my front porch in the past so now I don't chance it. It will make for a good Monday.

Same reason I don't ship to my home either. I don't trust the little ******* neighborhood kids.

guh

you guys are making me nervous over here. waiting on a couple packages to arrive.. we just moved to a new neighborhood.. i'm not 100% trusting that the packages won't be swiped.

:sadbanana:

Just cracked open a bottle of Avery's Maharaja IIPA. Really strong citrus smell and taste. Not nearly the hoppiness I expected in an IIPA. It's good, not great, and not really what I was looking for.
I have one of these on order. Will review when I absorb it.

Indian Pale Ale to start and some Vox Vodka and Tonics to end the night. Wine tour tomorrow.
