i'm discovering that, as much as a drinking town GB is.. and make no mistake about it you can't throw a rock without hitting a bar here... it's not really very big on anything that's not a macro.there are a couple stores in town that carry micro's. but only a couple and their selection is very limited.
for example, Skylord sent me a ####### and a ###### ##### and a #### ### and some other ####. i can't get any of that here.

It starts like a good east coast IPA, like DFH or Titan (I know, Great Divide is not on the east coast), but the hoppiness is a little more subdued. It does have that same malty sweet smell and palate with enough hops to make it very smooth. This would be an excellent session beer. Good stuff.

Did you know that Grants has gone out of business? Did not know that until recently. This will probably be the last Grants I drink. Well, not THE last...I picked up quite a few of these knowing I'll never see it again.

Ive got Speedway and RIS on the way from Skylord, and a 6er of Expedition on the way from Michigan next weekend.

Found out recently that none of the last batch of 120 minute made it to FloridaAbsolutely. Sounds like its going to be a while before DFH begins shipping to the westside again. Its been 1.5 years but its time to get back in the saddle.
This weekend I clean all my equipment and buy my ingredients.
The following weekend I brew.
I've decided that nows the time to get a good Xmas beer going....a nice Belgian dark ale flavored with chocolate mint. Thats not chocolate and mint, but chocolate mint. Plenty of time to ferment then age to round at that nice high alcohol content.
Now that I've put it in writing I'm forced to actually do it.
This weekend I clean all my equipment and buy my ingredients.

If I lived in SoCal, I would never have to touch the Harpoon IPA. Actually I don't get it here either now that I can get Victory and Dogfish Head.
This I can get when I take the 15 minute drive to WI.FYI Archer Liquors got some of the 120. I've had 60, 90, 120, chicory, raison, raison 23, fort, worldwide and I think thats it. I'm up for trying anything and everything else. My first beer trade is underway, thanks to Skylord. Our packages went out yesterday and are due to arrive on Friday. I sent some Terrapin Wake & Bake, Rye Squared, Tuppers' Hop Pocket Ale, & a liter of Sweetwater Festive Ale in exchange for some Arrogant *******, Alesmith IPA, Hopsickle, & Stone IPA. I've never had any of those before.
If anybody else is interested in these beers, just let me know. Like I said, there aren't many Southern breweries.

Actually, this will be my biggest trade yet....I think my BIF package and one trade I did with Max were my biggest before this one.What a great lunch. I went to Town Hall to get a couple growlers for trades with Wingnut and Fro, and while there had lunch with a Masala Mama Cask IPA.

Jeez, Louise....look at the ratings for all the beers at that brewery...out of 88 active beers, I think only 16 have a rating under 4. I dont know whioch is more unbelievable - the fact that they have that many active beers, or the fact that so many are rated so high.What a great lunch.
