What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (2 Viewers)

I can get the Pliney in growlers. Right now they only have the Elder though.
:pickle: I just checked the tentative beer list for the Oregon Brewers Festival in July. Looks like I am going to get my first crack at some Pliny the Elder. If any of the West Coast people want to chime in on that list as far as must have beers, I would appreciate it.
Of all of Ballast Point beers, why the yellow tail Kolsch? They just won a silver medal for the DIPA. And the IPA is really good too.

And they ship. :)

Not the DIPA. They don't bottle it yet

Why you gotta focus on the negative?

I was in SD last weekend and found some Ballast Point IPA. Damn fine beer. Took some bombers home. I have four in my cellar.

Because I just got a PM from Furley saying his guy couldn't get any more Dark Lord. :wall:

OK, the list for the ***OFFICIAL*** FFA Beer Snob Craft Brew Draft:

Winston Smith

Nuclear George

The Gator
:(
I posted that I was in. I do like the you have to have had it to draft it.
If thats the case I might have two options:1 - Sit this one out and learn from the "experts"

2 - Go back to Bevmo and spend about $500 on beer and take the next week off.

option #2 sounds like as good of a vacation as any.

:bs: I will never belive a word u say again.
Man, a lot of distrust around here.
No there isn't.

Excuse me while I interupt this thread to mention what kind of beer I'm drinking. :)

Bell's Expedition Stout courtesy of Bax. I think I'm gonna cry because this is the only one I have.

Just finished a bomber of Stone Ruination. It's amazing how much better this beer gets after it warms for little bit. Good stuff.

Hung out this evening with a gb who's a former pro brewer between gigs.

- Victory Hop Devil

- Victory Golden Monkey

- Fraoch Heather Ale :meh:

- Saison de Pipaix

- Aventinus Weizen Eisbock

- Homebrewed Pilsener (mine)

- Bourbon barrel porter and Imperial IPA from his former gig

And he sent me home with

- MacGuire's "What the Gentleman on the Floor is Having" barleywine

- 1996 Bell's Third Coast Old Ale

Good night for a Wednesday!

Where's the bourbon barrel porter from?

Alaskan Smoked Porter tonight :banned:

KT, I'll check my notes from last year to see what I liked. Besides the basics (Old Rasputin, Pliny, Titan, etc) I'll see what was there last year that I tried. Will likely go to the brewer's dinner (Tues), blind test (Wed) and opening night as I'm out of town camping the rest of that weekend.

My local store (two block from my home) just started carrying Golden Monkey. Haven't tried it yet, but I probably should.

*******.My local guy has been saying that he is going to get the Smoked Porter in for the last year and a half, but the only Alaskan Brewing beer he ever gets is the Amber, which is decent at best.

 Thanks for checking. I have to be in Seattle on Friday evening, so the only night I can go is Thursday (a lot of drinking to be done in 5 hours). The wife and I might be in town Wednesday night too, and I wanted to ask if she wanted to try the blind test. Did you do that last year? Regardless, we'll at least have one night of festivities (not to mention bar hopping downtown).

Wilked needs to remove "tonight" from the title. Better yet - just edit it to "ALL BEER, ALL THE TIME"
Agreed. If I am home, there is a good chance that I am having a beer.
I like it the way it is. It was a simple post about what beer someone was drinking, and it has blossomed into the 10th longest thread in the FFA. I say don't mess with it.
Whered you find that stat (the 10th longest thread)?

Pliney the Elder and all 2 liters of it. On to some SNPA from my tap. :drunk:
we need a class trip to your place i believe.
In all seriousness, if anyone happens to be in the area this friday, I am hosting a pre-bachelor party. I would be honored if a BIF member other than Bax showed up.
