What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (3 Viewers)

Hopback Thunderstorm. Yes, another English beer. Bought them both at the same time, so might as well get it out of the way.

Polishing off a Troegs Hopback...now headed for one of my case of Anchor Christmas 2005 :excited:
Skipped the Anchor for now and went with a SN Bigfoot.
Actually the first time I've had Bigfoot. HUGE  .
I LOVE this stuff. I'm surprised you found some still, but then again, they still had the Anchor Christmas beer. I found a 6er of Bigfoot a month ago and have it aging.

Having my first ever Arrogant ******* Ale. I know I'll be in the minority on this, but I'm not liking it too much. Too hoppy and bitter for me.

:lmao: Read the back of the bottle
:lmao: nice. I was NOT mouthing the words as I read it. :hot:

Out of the 60 or so beers I've tried in the last few months, I'm learning that I am not a hophead, I definitely like the malty beers better.

Nancy boy. And, the hops will get you one day. This I swear.

:lmao: Honestly, I'm not suprised, Fuller. Doesn't seem to go along with most of what you seem to like. Good for you to try and find out though.

 Maybe so, I'm still quite the n00b at "good" beer. It'll be great if I do start to enjoy the hops. That'll make my choices grow tremendously.

Not chilled yet. Will be drinking it tomorrow.
 nice. i'm scared of this one.. might be a while before i tackle it.

hoping to get out tomorrow and sample some potential BiF beers.
I really believe that there is no beer too bitter for me.
apparently if you can battle through this one... then there really is no beer too bitter for you.

From what I read, I will be ultimately tested when I drink the ReaperAle Sleighor DIPA that Fro send me.

Youll have no problem with the Sleighor. Its hoppy, but Ive had hoppier. Good beer though

Nothing wrong with that. I'm more of a malt head than a hop head myself.

Not really sure off the top of my head, but Bitter Woman comes to mind, as does Hop Ottin IPA from Anderson Valley (although I only tried a single bottle of the HO IPA). The Sleighor, to me, was definately a hop bomb, but I found balance where other people said there wasnt any  Im with you on this: I dont think theres a beer too hoppy for me.

Next year, I am going to have hops in the front blowing in the house. :)

I'm having Gales Jubilee Ale. Its a barleywine that has been retired since 2002. 12% alcohol, got it at the Stuffed Sandwich.

THIS should be interesting...ratings are all over the board.

Me too. Picked up a Schwelmer yesterday but haven't had it yet. Have some Paulaner too. And a couple of bottles of dunkel weizen.

Which dunkel ya got? I really like the Weihenstephaner. Almost brought a couple home from work but went with the Tucher instead.

Havent had that one yet :bag: ...I WILL make it a point to pick some up next time though. Heard nothing but good things about it.

I'm really not one to fall for advertising...But this happens every time. The board starts talking about beers and I find myself drinking them next weekend. I've got some Franz in my fridge but I'll probably grab some others and do some rating this weekend.

Not that I necessarily want to be drinking German beers on Memorial day though....

The BIF is represented nicely here. Even a BIF alias has made the cut :lmao:

I don't have a lot of time to post during the day, work is too busy. I've got more time to post in this thread in the evening than to participate in the BIF shenanigans during the day.

This is the thread where the real beer talk actually occurs.

And to think I haven't even been part of this beer clique for even 60 days yet.

I thought about getting involved in BIF II, but was afraid I didn't have anything to offer since there are really no local breweries or good beer stores around here.

Do it. Thats what potsie thought, too, but youll find you can get more than you thought, and probably some that the recipient hasnt tried. :thumbup
