What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (5 Viewers)

Really looking forward to the Double Simcoe. I like one hop beers, as it gives you a chance to really pick up on that hops charecteristics. Left Hand had a nice single hop beer using Warrior hops.
Just finished off a pint of this (split it with my wife). Wow, really good beer. Big hop flavor, and the simcoe has an interesting and complex flavor profile that was both earthy and citrusy at the same time. Nice oily taste with a medium bodied mouthfeel, and a carmel malt sweetness to tie it all together. I'll have to pick up another one of these.

Had one about a week or so ago. Definitely one of their best. Hopefully they'll brew another batch.

Having the Schwelmer hefe. meh

ETA: And I had such high hopes for it. :wall:

Vintage Cellar just lost my entire shopping basket...$80 worth of beer. I need to refill it all over again.

I wonder if thats a message...

I can't say what the first two will be, but on the beer run found a Jolly Pumpkin red that I didn't know was distributed around these parts. Nope, not going in the BIF box - the quota has been filled and then some.

Just got back from picking up a few to start the weekend off with. The haul.
Nice! How many of those have you had previously?Didn't start out with a hefe. Harpoon Summer. It's a kolsch. Not bad.
I have only had the Paulaner Hefe, Paulaner Oktoberfest and the Ayinger Celebrator. The rest will all be firsts for me.
The North Coast beers are really good. Never had the Kristal. I love Wee Heavy. I should buy it a little more often.

Got to catching up on several pages of reading in this and came across that site for the Belgians and broke the bank on a Westy 12, St Bernardus 12, Rochefort 10, and a St. Bernardus Prior 8 (had to add a few of the lower brews to get to the $35 limit). Wife will probably #### when she sees that come up on the credit card but I'll get out of the doghouse soon enough to enjoy the brews, hopefully. My store is getting lower so I will need to make a run soon. Have a good drinking weekend and may the foam be with you!!!

popped in at my hidden secret store up here.. they are really knocking the ball outta the park lately. they hired on some younger guy who's in to the craft brews.. does a little home brewing.

he's "suggesting" some great stuff.

copped two brand new beers, another Fantome Saison (yes!), an Avery Maharaja and an Okocim Porter.

North Coast Pranqster

Great Divide Hercules Double IPA

DFH 60 Minute IPA

All on tap. Good stuff.
Off the top of your head where would Tennent's Super rank on your alltime beer draft cheat sheet?

Never had it buddy. Part of your great European adventure?
Probably on top of my short list of favorite beers, we had it on tap at a local pub back in Castiglion. It is worth seeking, though you may prefer the Tennent's Scotch Ale.

Just cracked a large bottle of Chimay Premiere
Good times. Grand Reserve is my favorite Chimay, though.
Didn't have it at Kirby Wines where I was picking up a bottle of wine for the GF

This will have to do. Got some Duvel for when this bottle runs dry

:hot: Someone around here not named me cleaned out all of the Fantome at my local beer store. I always like to kick off Memorial Day bbqing with a Saison - and that ain't gonna be the one. :(

Finally home. I'm going to crack open one of my coveted beers...the 2005 Jolly Pumpkin Fuego Del Otono or "Autumn Fire". Ale brewed with chestnuts and spices.

I don't really know what to expect!

Five bucks says that by the end of next year they release a beer brewed with bleach and gasoline. And it'll be gooooood! Post your comments if you get a chance - nuts in beer is such an odd yet tasty combo.Finishing off the last of my Dominion Spring Brew. Goes REALLY well with hot chips - hell, any spicy food for that matter.

Buster's keeps it in stock.Found a new (to me at least) beer store today. Raffe's Deli on Poplar just west of Highland (beside the Taco Bell). GOod selection of imports and micros.

I've had the Weihenstephaner Hefe Dunkel and the Kristal so far tonight and both were excellent. Just opened the Wee Heavy. It's very good also.

Glad to hear you give positive reviews to the Spring brew. I've heard that I might be getting some of that Spring Brew in a trade really soon...Looking forward to it.
