What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (1 Viewer)

Unibroue Chambly Noire.

 They can do better than this.

From the DID YOU KNOW ARCHIVES...

Did you know that Unibroue's brewmaster was originally from Chimay? He held the job at Chimay for ten years before taking the gig at Unibroue.

Two 750ML St. Bernardus Abt 12's to get the night started :banned:

As for the weekend, it was pretty good for beer drinking. Just got back from Russian River Brewing in Santa Rosa, where I had the sampler of everything then settled down with two pints of Pliny the Elder. I also had their Calzone #2 (Canadian bacon), which was really good, especially for a brewpub. After that, we considered heading up the road to Bear Republic, but decided to head back to the casa. On the way there (with the G/F driving), we stopped at Moylan's in Novato. Had a couple of pints of Hopsickle there.

GB Northern California.

I'm running low on cold stuff.  I have a few dozen different beers that aren't chilled.  Might have to throw a few in the fridge.  I might even tackle the Alesmith Grand Cru, finally.
Cool. I'll be interested to hear what you think.
Didn't get it done yesterday, but it's in the fridge. I will report back. I want to sample it on a clear mind. I'm looking forward to it more than sex. And, yes, I have a "thing" for great beer.

I see Fro. Fro  NorCal too.
:bye: Had a great weekend.

Went whale watching on Sunday. Saw grey and humpback whales. Unbeleivable seeing those tremendous souls so close.

Wingnut - That spot looks great but could you please include a bottle in every shot next time. TIA

Max - I did the Headlsburg - Santa Rosa crawl last month in one day. Phenomenal. We should have a beer together sometime. :hifive:

:excited: Dude, if you can put down two 750ml of Abt 12 to "get the night started," you are far more of a man than me. If I knocked back two of those, it'd be nighty-night instantly :bag:

Just had a Rogue Younger's Special Bitter - pretty solid, though not one of Rogue's best. Looking forward to the Hazelnut Nectar in the fridge.

Now it's on to a Celebrator

nice. Had a Hazelnut Brown Nectar just a couple of nights back. Really liked it.

I need to repent for my sin. Went to a sub/pizza place this afternoon with the wife and kids. Felt like having a beer with my sub. It was only a dollar...so I had to do it. I had a Coors. :bag:

I have come here to repent of my sins. I spent the weekend drinking corona :(

Cracking a Snoqualmie Steam Train Porter tonight
:hot: WTF is going on in here? Next thing you know, Kilgore's going to come in here talking about how he enjoyed his Rolling Rock...

It happened. I've turned down free macros before. Now for some reason, in a moment of weakness, I actually paid for one. I guess I'll have to turn in my beer snob card.

Beer of choice will be Verhaeghe Echt Kriekenbier.
Never heard of it, but I looked it up. Never had a Flanders Red Ale either. I've had one in my fridge for about a month though. One of these days I'll drink it.

The best ones have this appetizing tartness that's addictive as hell.May need to pull out a barleywine. Hmm, choices, choices...

This is the one I have. Duchesse De Bourgogne
Thats a good one. Not the best but VERY good. Careful with the carbonation. For some reason every bottle I get explodes open in a furry of pink foam.

Thanks. I'll be sure to open it over the sink.

Damn the soul of the person who doesn't think there is a time and a place for Corona.

No question. For example, someone could be holding a gun to your head and say "drink this, or I shoot." In that event, I'd be happy to drink Corona.Otherwise, no thanks. That stuff is AWFUL.

There is no time or place for Corona.

I hate to disagree with you 3C's but a Corona is a perfectly good beer for putting out the camp fire.

popped in at my hidden secret store up here.. they are really knocking the ball outta the park lately.  they hired on some younger guy who's in to the craft brews.. does a little home brewing.

he's "suggesting" some great stuff.

copped two brand new beers, another Fantome Saison (yes!), an Avery Maharaja and an Okocim Porter.
Furley, did you try the Okocim Porter yet. I pimped that a couple of months ago somewhere in this thread. It is easily one of the best Porters I have ever had. Knowing your preferred style a little, I bet you would really enjoy it.
not yet. it's on my radar though... maybe tomorrow.i did the St Bernardus circle tour tonite.. courtesy of Skylord

one after the other they kept getting better and better. kicked it off with the Pater 6 and i thought "damn this is a ####### great beer!". then i had the Prior 8 and thought "this is a ####### faaaaaaaaaantastic beer.. this is how they should taste." then i had the Tripel and thought i'd died and went to heaven.

jeebus.. St Bernardus is my new favorite anything.
:banned: I'm seriously ready to sign up to be a monk. Just got to figure out a way around the whole celebacy thing...

Oh. I forgot to mention that I have some Ten Year Alt from Victory celebrating their ten year brewing anniversary. Really good german style ale (so rare). Complex malt profile combined with the refined bitterness of the noble german hops used. Different and very good.

I'm having a 1998 Hair of the Dog Adam. Thing has mellowed significantly. Massive amounts of chocolate remain. Tastes like a friggin chocolate beer at this point.

Cool. I have a 2001 Fred in the cellar just waiting for the right time. Love that brewery.Just popped open a Dominion Millenium. SO smooth - not overly hoppy, overly malty, or overly alcoholic - just great balance.

I like Victory's Ten Year Alt. I have a six pack, minus a couple, of Southampton's Alt. It's good.
