What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (2 Viewers)

i'm scared :scared:

just got delivered a bottle of Double ******* too.. that one has me thinking i might need some help.
Thats one i havent been able to find around here yet. :hot: ETA: The local bevmo had the oaked aged one once. . . ONCE! :hot:
brother brought it for me from NYC. gonna sit on that one for a while.. til i know what i'm getting in to. and a BA i know (flyingbison) just came back from LA with a 3L of the oak aged arrogant *******. yowza. he said he and 2 friends polished one in LA and he brough another back.
I think I can still get these. Once fall hits I can get as many as I want.
Still disappointed that I missed that at the last Oregon Brewer's Festival. That and Pliny the Elder, though the Pliny is back again this year. Hopefully KT and I will be hooking up there for a couple :banned: Lion Stout courtesy of Skylord. This is a great stout! Appreciate the extra coffee flavor in a stout, and it wasn't overpowering. Very drinkable.
I have one of these via Skylord as well....Im saving it for my Stout tasting night, which will include:Stone Russian Imperial Stout

Bear Republic Black Bear Stout

Storm King Stout

Jolly Pumpkin Dark Dawn Stout

Bells Expedition Stout

Great Lakes Blackout Stout

Alesmith Speedway Stout

:headbang:
NIGHT?!?!?! Holy frejoles. That'd be a good week of stouts for me. Or at best a weekend. Do us all a favor and post in this thread once you get about halfway into that list on the night in question. And be sure to stay around until the end --- either passing out or stark-raving drunk off your ###.
He better have friends coming over to help. Some, maybe most, of those are bombers or bigger.
The Speedway alone could hurt you. Its the equivalent of a bottle of wine.

Yeah I love that stout. Recently sent one to Wingnut as well. Gave that pup a 4.3, excellent dessert stout.
The one from Sri Lanka? I finally picked one up Monday night. I kept passing it over for other beers. Went in Monday in search of the 60th Ann. St. Bernardus. Not there yet. Couldn't leave w/o something, so I bought the Lion Stout and a 6er of Hop Devil. Not really "stout weather" right now, but I'll drink it eventually.
Thats the one. Its very good, you'll like it.

Agreed. I powered through one a few weeks ago with designs on having a few more beers, but that was pretty much it for me. Sure hope he has 2-3 guys coming over or at least several hours to savor these.

me: :o are you sure?

him: yeah. they only had a couple but they were in there with the Belgians.

me:

him: i didn't know you wanted any or i would grabbed a couple.. they were expensive though.. i think.

There are a few stores that illegally import them and run the risk of being caught. I heard from a guy in NJ that he sees them now and again.Oh yeah, I currently am sitting on 7 with 5 more on the way. :pickle:

:lmao: enjoy the beers Fuller! should make for a good nite
:D Enjoy them. The Wisconsin Red in particular is fantastic if you like the style. Furley should have sent you a Wisconsin Amber from Capital Brewery. That was a good good beer too.

BTW, as I noted in the BIF thread..... :endschtick:

Haven't I offered multiple times for any of the BIF guys to come over for a beer. Not my fault that no one took me up on it.

They don't distribute at all. All that is sold is sold out of the monastary gift shop on predetermined days.

And when you buy it there, you agree not to resell it.

What about those of us who buy from places like www.belgianshop.com (or whatever it's called)? Obviously those guy aren't endorsed to sell Westy. This saddens me.

per a thread on BA, the Goose Island Bourbon County Stout was recently released and bottled (due to be?) so, George, keep your eyes open.

Had I known you had those coming I would have held off on the Raspberry Eisbock trade in hopes of scoring a Westy 12. One super rare beer for another.

 Never know what's coming to my house. I have done way too many trades lately. Basement is getting a little too full of beer. Not to mention, I just picked up half the beers for BOTM.

Thats not the response I wanted to hear. What I wanted to hear was:
Sorry, GB...completely my fault. Id be willing to send you one for another Eisbock. Lets make it happen!!!!

I thought it was quite smooth. Greg said he picked the best barrel for this tasting and that they blended the other barrels together.

The Bourbon Barrel Stout was bottled a few weeks ago and Greg said it will be released in November.

Cheers"

Makes sense. That's also around when they release the Imperial IPA too. Good gawd, Nov-Dec is going to be high times for beer for me.

:goodposting: I keep wanting to try one of these types of beer. I love bourbon. I love beer. I want to love this kind of beer.

Victory Prima

Pours clear yellow/gold with a medium size head. Mossy smell is noticeableat first sniff. Nice clean flavor with hop bite mid-taste, but quickly fading into a crisp refreshing finish. This is a good beer, I am not normally a huge fan of lagers, but I could drink this one again and again.
It's not a lager GB.
Au contraire my sleep deprived, bike rinding, vomit inducing, i-friend. Of the two primary styles of beer (ale & lager), pilsners are most definately lagers. And Victory Prima is  :banned:

And if you don't believe me, here is what beer advocate has to say about it.

"Pilsner is one of the most popular styles of lager beers ..." - link

Wrong thread. I think you're looking for the OB-GYN thread. YWIA.

Went to the Pelican Brewery on the Oregon coast yesterday. Really great IPA, and the best view from a brewpub that I have ever had. The Oregon coast is beautiful. I'm sitting in the Rogue Ale House in Portland right now. Having an Uber Pilsner and doing laundry up the road. I wish the vacation would never end. Going to the Oregon Brewer's Festival tommorow night. :banned:

Wow, that's a long time ago in this thread to go back and find.

Copied from the Wine It Forward thread -

9. Skylord - ready to go - He's open to receive any styles from any countries except chardonnays. He splits his time with wine and beer almost 40/60 so most folks in this thread probably drink more diversly than he...so feel free to send what ever. But ultimately He prefers big bold reds. As for what he can get, he lives in Los Angeles and frequent some very nice wine shops. I have access to all walks of wine, including many local Santa Barbara, Temecula, etc wineries.

Dude, if beer is only 60% of your drinking you must be pickled.

Actually since I started really rating beer religiously, my wine drinking has dropped to almost non existent. Only time I drink wine now is when I eat steak.
