- Beer

- Pizza

- Cigars

- Big draft board with stickers

- Plenty of chairs with table space (TV dinner trays work too)

- Electrical outlets available for the guppies that need to plug in their laptop

Do you play music or have the TV on?

Topless waitress?

Wings

Portillo's (Chicago thing)

Hard Liqour (for those moments when you just got screwd out of player)

I tend to do my draft with the subscriber generated cheatsheets, so I actually have a pen to cross off names, and three different highlighters; one for players, I pick, one for players I am targeting (pre-draft) and one for players I see value in/targeting once the draft is moving (to ensure I do not miss them as the font is usually 5pt). One time a draft was going so quickly, I missed my pick because I color-coded a player the wrong color and could not find him in the system. You learn, but i find it pretty helpful. Luckily for me, the player I got automatically was Brandon Marshall last year...maybe I should just let the ADP pick my teams...lol.

I do something similiar. I print off the sheets as well based on my scoring system and then highlight players as they are taken. Leaving players un-highlighted makes them easy to find, imo.

A sticker b#@@# (usually the son of one of the drafters) for the draft board.

We usually have a concert dvd playing somewhere. (Last year was Godsmack)

A birthday cake (one of the guys has his birthday around draft day)

Each time an owner screws up: SHOTBears player drafted: SHOT

Former Bear player drafted: SHOT

Shots lead to more shots

For tonight's draft:

TV on the Chiefs preseason game, but sound on XM Radio rock channel (but turned down to a barely listenable level.. think sound level of music in dentist's office)

chili cheese dip

Crab dip

4 slabs of ribs

100 smoked chicken wings

Pizza

75 Beers

Gallon of infused vodka (strawberry)

Canadian club, Bacardi Rum, Sweet Tea Vodka and lemonade, Sapphire gin - Patron for the Mid-Draft shot round (fresh limes cut up)

Plenty of mixers - club soda, water, Sprite, Coke Zero, etc.

VBD Excel Cheat Sheets optimized for our league printed for each person to ensure as much fairness as possible.

Big draft board (CBS) with stickers.

A few pron mags lying around for when things get slow as the action progresses.

Cookies

Cigars

If there is a better draft party hosted by a non-millionaire I'd like to see it.

One (1) fine point sharpie, fresh from new package.

Two (2) blank pieces of printer paper.

One (1) Six pack of whatever beer tickles my fancy.

One (1) Crave Case of jalapeno sliders from White Castle.

DD hooked up to an external TV with Draft Board visible to all, with the Player Pool stretched to my laptop only. Spreadsheet with sorted players (ADP + my ranks/tiers).
Care to share how you do this? I'm intrigued and dumb.
No prob.1. Hook up a VGA cable ('monitor cable') from your laptop to a LCD type TV with a VGA connection.

2. In Windows...right click the desktop -- Graphics Options -- Ouput to -- Extended Desktop -- Notebook + Monitor (something like that).

3. Now your screen is shared across your laptop and the TV.

4. Adjust the resolution of the TV (will not be maximized): Right click desktop, choose Properties. Go to Settings tab. You will see a 1 and a 2 screen. The 1 is your laptop, the 2 is the PC (assuming you picked 'Notebook + Monitor'). Click the "2" and under Screen Resolution, slide the slider to the right for "more" resolution. Hit Apply, then OK.

5. Launch DD on your laptop. Get it to where you can resize the whole DD window. Grab the corner of the main DD window and stretch it across your laptop screen and the TV.

Slide the Draft Board Window (inside of the DD window) to the public monitor and keep your player pool, recommended players, etc. on your own laptop. You can move players as they are called out, and keep watch of the VBD and rankings privately for when your turn comes.

This just struck me as funny... "Guys don't worry, I brought the cookies"...11 men simultaneously breathe a sigh of relief and put down their Penthouse mags to see whether Dr. No brought E.L. Fudge or Double Stuff Oreo.
