Like bigbottom, I have a really nice, expensive cowboy hat that I bought decades ago. But ...I don't wear it other than for a Halloween western-themed outfit.

Flawed question. A cowboy hat is a derivative of a sombrero. So I'm counting my sombrero.

Go Bills!I was born and raised in Wyoming - the Cowboy State.
Outside of a baseball cap with the WY state flag (which I refer to as my "cowboy hat"), I haven't owned a cowboy hat since I was 8.
Edit to add: it's really disappointing how often I have to tell people it's not a Buffalo Bills hat.

Username checks outSomeone gave me a cowboy hat as a joke gift about 20 years ago. I just kept it in the closet and never wore it. Then the pandemic happened and I started wearing it during zoom calls with friends and family. Now I wear it about once a week, usually during poker games.

You are missing out on a PARTY if you haven’t attended the Calgary Stampede and worn a cowboy hat. Yee-haw!!!
On a related note I was told by a local that divorces spike massively following the event….it seems to have a way of lowering inhibitions![]()
