I got a million vices that are a problem, but I just don't understand grown-ups who drink soda. At all. It's not good for you. You know this.

Can’t “soda” be replaced there with “beer”, “whiskey”, “cocktails”?*

*I drink all of these so not casting aspersions

Sugar and its substitutes are worse for you than an occasional alcoholic beverage.
Diet soda in general is a huge culprit of cancer. Plus, it ruins your teeth.

Coke - a specific brand of soft drink
Soda - a specific type of soft drink
Pop - not heard used forever
Pop is what we call the category of carbonated sweet drinks in the midwest
Not all of the Midwest.

Missouri is soda territory for the most part, as God intended.
I get that Missouri is technically the Midwest but gosh darn does it feel like the South when you go there.
Missouri has like 4-6 different regions, each with their own distinct subculture.

-St Louis is an old river town with a mix of southern and northern influences. It's more condensed, gritty and metropolitan.
-KC is a western frontier railroad/river town. It's more spread out and friendlier but has less culture.
-SW area (Springfield/Joplin) is more like Oklahoma & Texas. Very country and conservative.
-SE area (the "bootheel") is essentially part of the South, and has more in common with Memphis and New Orleans than KC.
-North of I-70 & the Missouri River I call "Iowa South". It is just basically corn fields with some tiny towns here and there.
-There is also the middle of the state with the state capitol (Jeff City), Mizzou (Columbia) and Lake of the Ozarks, but that area is disjointed from people coming and going all the time.

Aspartame is not a larger culprit for cancer than alcohol.

It is banned in Europe for that very reason. Do you know what isn't banned in Europe?
