I'll only eat a few brands.Hebrew NationalBoars HeadNathan'sThose dogs seems to be much higher quality than all the other brands.

I hate Nathan's and love Hebrew National. Only mustard here and a ton of it.

Grilling some Hebrew Nationals in about in hour. This will be my maiden voyage and I can't wait.

I live in the country and a local market cuts up 100% all beef 1/4 lb hot dogs that you can buy 5 lbs for 15 bucks at sale price, which seems to be about once a month. I buy 5 lbs about twice a summer.... When I buy them, I throw a batch of chili together, eat if of course, and then use the leftover chili, with chopped onions, shredded sharp cheddar, spicy mustard, and then grab some sub/brats buns and make a nice sloppy coney.

Big fan of the Detroit Coney Island (with mustard and onion, of course). Also loved a Skyline Chili Dog while in college (none near me now).

That being said, my go-to dog is a Chicago Style Hot Dog (without relish) from the cart in my local Home Depot.

I can personally vouch for Hiram's, Hank's Franks, Rut's Hut (the rippers are my personal favorites), Johnny and Hanges, and Karl Ehmer's (amazing sausage stand, used to be bigger) in Bergen County.

My favorite hot dogs were the ones from when I was a kid at our concession stand. After games or just hanging out at the complex while my dad was doing stuff. When closing up the concession stand for the night, there would always be a few dogs left sitting in that large pot, boiled in that dirty dog water.

I know they were just a Dietz and Watson dog but the memories ... I probably ate hot dogs 4 nights a week as a kid during baseball season.

I begin by tossing out the hot dog and replacing it with a brat, polish sausage, Italian sausage, or sometimes Andouille. From there I have options, but in no instance do those options include ketchup or avocado, not ever.

Even with a grill. I'll grill some dogs but I also take an aluminum pan fill it with a little bit of water and have it on the side with little heat and close the lid.

Spicy Brown Mustard

Sarrayo (kind of like Sriracha mayo)

Dill relish

Diced onions, either raw or sauteed

Lok Rostad (fried onions)
