There was some blabber by the announcers about him not `running the routes correctly. Pretty sure that A. they have no idea what the route should be and B. Only say that because they heard that from his time in Buffalo. I put zero stock in their opinions. He got 6 targets in a game that was over at halftime. I think Luck threw a handful of passes after the half. He did have a bad drop on the 1st pass throw his was. Same route he took 69 yards last week I believe. Hilton got twice as many targets. I would guess that Rogers took coverage away from him that DHB could not.

On the int that was thrown his direction, it looked like he ran his route a little flat. The pass he dropped he definitely should have caught. They were up early and ran the ball quite a bit. The most encouraging thing was him playing 60/74 snaps. The unfortunate thing was the Texans are that bad against the run.

 
4-42 wide open on 3 of them. 2 pass interferences also. One grabbing Darick as he hauled ### by the defender.

 
It def seems like Da'Rick has helped open up the Colts offense. I'm pretty excited about his prospects in the future.

I just hope he stays out of trouble this off season. .....

 
Just watched the game. Looks like he didn't play 19-20 snaps without the two kneel downs, 13-14 of those snaps were in 1 WR sets. He had a really nice block where he came back towards the backfield a bit that helped seal off and sprung Donald Brown for his TD run.

 
If he screws up and gets in trouble this off season he will most likely never get another opportunity.

Undrafted + kicked off two NFL teams + Kicked off college team = No Bueno

"Kicked off" almost implies he broke rules/had legal troubles/etc. He was released because of a numbers game and he was too inconsistent to keep a roster spot, as far as I know it wasn't behavior that got him released (other than the fact that he was in and out of the coach's doghouse for his performance on the field, not off of it)

"He definitely has skill," Bills coach Doug Marrone said today of Rogers. "Along with DeMarco Sampson, who's played well for us in the preseason, but I think when you look at the production of that group, and who's produced for a long period of time, it's just a matter of, it's just as simple as, we feel that we have better players on the roster right now than the players that we released. That's what I've communicated to them."

I think Rogers caught on in the perfect spot on the Colts practice squad and got an opportunity to practice with the team most of the season without any pressure on Sundays. Looking forward to seeing him continue to learn as I think his upside is almost endless. However, I do agree, if he gets in trouble this offseason, fails another drug test, or otherwise ####s this up, he'll have a hard time catching on anywhere else.

 
The last 4 games Rogers has went from a practice squad guy to a starting guy on a playoff team with one of the best young QB's to suit up since Manning himself. In dynasty leagues you need a couple of things to hit for a guy to become a stud for the future. You need talent and opportunity. Rogers has the talent and is now getting an opportunity. He has received 21 targets over the last 3 games and has turned that into 12 catches for 172 yards and 2 tds. Remembering everyone laugh at you for drafting him (as early as the second round in many rookie drafts) as an undrafted free agent then continuing to laugh at you he as was cut from the lowly Bills could end up getting you the last laugh. This whole going to Indy and being a practice squad guy has ended up being a blessing in disguise. As an owner you have to be extremely happy with what has transpired.

The are a couple of ways his value may sky rocket this off season and if you don't believe in him you can unload him. He could have a monster playoff game and his value may never be higher than it will be this off season. He could very well have an undisciplined off season and ruin the chance and you can sell high. Or you could hold if you believe as he may be Luck's go to WR for years to come. He is going to be an interesting guy to monitor this off season.

There are probably less than 10 people on the planet that have (and have shown) 'Josh Gordon potential' and not yet played in a pro bowl. I'm very high on Da'rick, but I haven't seen anything that suggests he might be the best WR talent in the game. I think that's the range where Josh Gordon potential falls - although you can call it top 5 potential if you feel better with that. Rogers has the potential to be a solid #1 WR in the NFL - but even that's still quite a long shot. To me, he's far more a lottery ticket than a top 15 WR going forward.

Rogers biggest hurdle is staying out of trouble. He is sitting in an ideal situation where talent is meeting opportunity.

He must have really rubbed some teammates/coaches wrong because there was stories of him flashing in training camp and he was still let go.......

 
It was very hard turning down a 1st round rookie pick in HyperActive I for him at the beginning of the season, but I did. I drafted him at 2.05 in HA1 and that was my first pick of the draft. I have him in 8 of my 10 dynasty leagues.

This is how he was obtained in my leagues.

HyperActive 1 - I drafted him at 2.05

HyperActive 3 - 2.08 (I didn't draft him, another team did)

Fantasy Legends 1 - I drafted him at 2.06

Fantasy Legends 2 - I drafted him at 2.07

Fantasy Legends 3 - 2.11 (another team drafted him, I obtained via a trade)

Fantasy Legends 4 - I drafted him at 2.03

Hall of Fame Dynasty - I drafted him at 2.04

Ultimate Football Dynasty - I drafted him at 3.12

Build a Champion 2 - I picked him off the Waiver Wire in early Oct.

I'll never draft another $2 auction steal like Gordon ever again... I think the sooner I realize that the better off I will be. I'll be happy if I get another late round flier who can put up 1/2 the points Gordon has this year. ...maybe its Da'rick Rogers...

Twice now in 4 weeks, Rogers has toasted the LCB on a deep route, only to be grabbed onto and a penalty called. Both would have likely been deep TDs. 26 yards downfield the 1st time, 2nd time, same play, 5 yard holding penalty.

He still needs route running experience and Reggie needs to come back as player/coach.

I don't like the Gordon or Jones comps.

What stands out to me most when watching Rogers is his physicality. He's a very physical receiver, and that trait combines with several others (balance, vision, etc.) to make him dangerous after the catch. He has the size and explosiveness to excel on crossing routes and in the redzone. He seems to be strong in contested situations, and generally has solid to good receiving skills across the board.

What I don't see is the raw speed to simply pull away from defenders like Jones and Gordon do. (Gordon obviously plays much faster than his 4.5 40 would suggest. I would bet he's really a high 4.3 or low 4.4 guy.) Rogers isn't slow by any means, but he's definitely not at that level.

Personally, his play reminds me of a slightly bigger and slightly more explosive (healthy) Nicks.

slot receivers can get deep occasionally as well . . . true #1 receivers get deep often and often command help over the top - don't think he's in that class . . .

In early May of this year, Rogers was drafted at 4.06 of the rookie draft of our 12 team Dynasty league after he signed with the Bills. I was going to make him my final pick at 4.12 had he not been picked. As luck would have it, he was cut by his fantasy owner on September 3rd when our league had its cut down to 25. Beginning 9/19/13, I added and dropped him twice while he was just getting under way in Indy off and on the practice squad, being inactive and finally active. I added him as a free agent for nothing on 11/24/13 when he finally was activated. I am happy to have him.

Watch out for the "Cool Story Bro" post coming because you mentioned something about your specific team. Good for you man. I know the Rogers story hasn't been written yet, but if he can stay out of trouble, his on the field story might just be an exciting one. You certainly got him cheap.

Cool story Bro. My story is cool too. Grabbed him in the 1st Rd at #11 because he's the best WR in the class and by luck he now has the best QB throwing to him in the 2013 WR draft class. Referring to page 1, I was hoping Indy would draft him. This such a huge jackpot if he keeps his head on straight. I had to write his name in on the draft board. Love doing that. You get the 'huh'? 'who' and then the 'son of a #####, ####' down the road.

Much better comparison than the Julio nonsense IMO. Rogers has the strength and physicality reminiscent of TO and Brandon Marshall, but doesn't look quite as quick / sudden as those two to me. Young Marques Colston before his knees blew up may be the best comparison. But he needs to work on his technical route running a ton before sniffing the production of any of those guys, and considering his character red flags, that's no sure thing.I like Rogers, but IMO he's overvalued right now if people are carving "Luck's top target moving forward" in stone.

One dumb thing the Colts did was give away their 1st rd pick for Richardson when they could have used it on a stud WR (Lee or Evans? Watson will go top 10). If the Colts can't get a great WR in the 2nd round, then Rogers' value should remain high. Not to mention the Colts need OL as well, so if a good one is in the 2nd round they will probably use it on an offensive lineman over a WR. They need to protect Luck better than they have. Perhaps something happens in free agency?

For the sake of discussion lets ASSUME he ends up being the Colts #1 WR next year---Do you like him over a DeAndre Hopkins even if they pick Teddy Bridgewater?
